Welcome to my ABC’s with Fun Folds series. Today I have a Joy fold card for you. The joy fold is basically a card within a card. It is all about the layers and a fun focal point. This Little Pig…
Hello and welcome back! It's time for this week's post for TGIF Challenges, and it's a beautiful sketch. This Little Piggy...is growing on me! I received this set at the last OnStage Local Event from Stampin' Up, and I'm having...
I want to share another piggy card- just because I love it so much! The set is called "This Little Piggy" and its so super cute. I don't know how anyone could not love this little bugger. I love the happy skip that this little piggy has. Isn't she cute?...
Happy Tuesday! So much for blogging more often, eh? Geez! I try ... honestly, I try! *lol* It's hard to believe it's already more than half way through summer, isn't it? What have we been up to this summer? Well, if you saw my last two posts there has been some travel involved. My youngest went to Phoenix with her BFF and family for 9 days and then, once she was home we packed up and headed to Kelowna for 12 days. It was forced relaxation for this multitasking maniac! I handled it PRETTY well but, not gunna lie, it was JUST long enough to chill a bit but make me want to get home. I'm a Cancer ... and they are renowned for being "homebodies". I missed my dog! (Naturally he was mad at me for leaving him. He greeted everyone except me when we got home (even the cat!) ... until I came back from the grocery store with a cooked chicken. He decided then that he had punished me enough and was ready to forgive me (of course it cost me a few pieces of breast meat!). We got back July 24th. Craig had the rest of the week off so it was more relaxing "Bertram Style", which means gardening for him, cooking, cleaning, driving the kids around, and crafting for me. The last few days of July were INSANE as the Stampin' Up! promotion with 10 free ink pads included in every starter kit bought drew to a close. My team EXPLODED and we have welcomed 21 ladies to "Tamara's Trail Blazers"!!! I only JUST finished the "welcome" cards and paperwork for is all last night! Today I'm turning my efforts towards making cards! Alicia and I both have tables at the "Made for Pets" even at the Edmonton Humane Society this coming Sunday. She had about 12 more dog leashes to make and I have a LOT of animal-themed cards to make ... not to mention planning out out booths as far as posters, flyers, layout and so on. So that's what' I've been up to ... and (as I procrastinate on that) I thought I get caught up on projects old AND new that I had HOPED to share along the way. Alas .... I won't go into fine detail on how they were made, dimensions etc, but if you have any questions just leave me a message and I'll get back to you. This first card is quite old! ... and a total case from Ceal Pritchett ... using Petal Palette ... CASEd this idea from Allison Okamitsu using our new 2018/2020 In Colours ... CASE'd my own layout ... (Petal Palette for the flower card - Picture Perfect DSP for the birthday card) A card from my friend Joan Jeffery ... A card from my friend Lisa Henderson ... Cards I made in Kelowna using the Calligraphy Essentials kit ... Card I made using the July Paper Pumpkin kit ... Belated birthday card using the retired "Bird Banter" Card from my friend Genevieve Parrent ... Card from my friend Stephanie VanDorp ... Card made using the July 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit ... Card CASEd from Diana Gibbs .. Card from my friend Marcy Denning ... Another card from my friend Marcy Denning ... Card from my friend Tracey Stewart ... Card I made using the new Rooted In Nature bundle ... A card my daughter made my mom for her birthday ... A card my daughter made ME for MY birthday ... LOVE THIS CARD!! Made with Abstract Impressions bundle ... Made with the Notes of Kindness it ... A card from my friend Susan Philips ... LOVE THIS ADOPTIONS CARD ... made with the Animal Outing designer paper and new tufted embossing folder (the sentiment is retired from Cuddles & Kisses set) More baby cards using Precious Delivery ... Phew! OK, that was a lot! I have an hour before I have to take Doodle Dog to the vet for another round of treatment for a raging ear infection. This will help establish if his too-frequent ear issue is just that we haven't 100% cured it in the past or is something more serious, like a burst ear drum. I'm thinking it's the former. Time will tell! Thank you for popping in. I'll do my best to post again before too long! I hope you have a super stampy day! Tam
Hi everyone! Today I wanted to show you this super fun new stamp set called This Little Piggy! I was lucky enough to receive this set at the Stampin' Up! On Stage event this past April! So Fun! It's such a cute set and I couldn't wait to ink it up! My favorite pig from this set is the flying pig. I love the saying that goes with it, "She Believed She Could, So She Did." I have a little wall art with that saying in my craft room, so I knew that was the pig to use first. I decided to make a big of a whimsical card, with the cut out words and the watercolor background. This would be cute note card to send to a girl friend or even a cute note card set as a gift. I used the No-Line water coloring technique on this card. This is a fun look and easily achieved. I used Flirty Flamingo and Pool Party markers to ink up the pig image, then stamped onto watercolor paper. I then used Aqua Painters and the same color ink to color in the pig. Check out the video below to see the process step by step. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you like the This Little Piggy stamp set! The new catalog goes live in just a couple weeks! Can't wait! Are you excited too? Did you know that you can choose some Pre-order itmes in your starter kit if you join during May?!! You can! Hi Stampers! Today I thought we would take a look at some easy ways to add depth and dimension to cards. For today’s cards I used the THIS BIRTHDAY PIGGY stamp set found in the STAMPIN’ UP!®️ 2022-2023 ANNUAL CATALOG. Here is a look at the cards: THIS BIRTHDAY PIGGY CARDS THIS BIRTHDAY PIGGY STAMP SET VIDEO EASY WAYS TO ADD DIMENSION TO YOUR CARDS FEATURING THIS BIRTHDAY PIGGY STAMP SET The easiest way to add a bit of depth and dimension to a card is to use layers. Each of today’s cards features layers of cardstock and patterned paper (DSP) coupled with another method for adding dimension. JUST ADD DIMENSIONALS CARD This card is very simple to create. I stamped and colored the focal image, die cut it, and added dimensionals to the back side of the piece and adhered it to the card front. The greeting is also attached to the card with dimensionals. SUPPLIES * Parakeet Party card base 4 1/4” x 11” scored and folded at 5 1/2” * Basic White cardstock - cut two at 4” x 5 1/4” - one for the inside, and one for a mat - use the mat piece to stamp and die cut the focal image and greeting. Yes, it will have a circle and rectangle cut from it, but no one will know! * 2022-2024 In Color 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper - Parakeet Party - 3 3/4” x 5” * Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Parakeet Party; Stampin’ Blends - Crumb Cake (light & dark), Natural Tones - Light #900, Petal Pink (dark), Parakeet Party (light), Fresh Freesia (light), Daffodil Delight (dark & light), Flirty Flamingo (dark) * Stylish Shapes Dies - largest circle; Stitched Rectangles Dies - one that fits sentiment best * Adhesive & dimensionals ADD A FUSSY CUT IMAGE ON DIMENSIONALS CARD This technique for adding dimension is super easy. Stamp the focal image, color the image, then stamp the image again on another piece of cardstock. Color the element of the image you want to put on dimensionals, fussy cut the element, place dimensionals on the back of this piece, and adhere it over the corresponding element on the focal piece. On this card I chose the pig image to pop up on dimensionals. The cake could be used as well. Note - For the focal image I used the Stylish Shapes Dies - 2nd largest square, and the Partial Die Cutting Technique. For technique how- to, click HERE The focal image and greeting for this card were cut using the same die. For the sentiment I die cut it making sure the sentiment was near the top of the die, the ran it through the die cut machine. Next I moved the die up so the side still lined up, but the bottom of ythe die was near the bottom line of the sentiment, then I ran it through the machine again. SUPPLIES * Sweet Sorbet card blew 4 1/4” x 11” scored and folded at 5 1/2” * Basic White card stock 3 3/4” x 5” - stamp and die cut the focal image from the center of this piece * Basic White cardstock cut at 4” x 5 1/4” for inside card * Larger scraps of Basic White cardstock for greeting and second image * 2922-2024 In Color 6” x 6” DSP - Sweet Sorbet 3 1/2” x 4 3/4” * Inks - Memento Tuxedo Black, Sweet Sorbet; Stampin’ Blends - Sweet Sorbet (dark & light), Flirty Flamingo (dark & light), Crumb Cake (dark & light), Ivory, Balmy Blue (light), Daffodil Delight (light), and Soft Sea Foam (light), Bronze * Paper Snips / scissors * Adhesive and dimensionals Note - stamp the focal image, color, and do the partial die cut technique. I've been having so much fun with the little piggies in my stamp room! These are the first batch of thank you cards for my online club members. Every time they participate they get a handstamped card by yours truly... with a bunch of new product samples inside! And once again, this month's samples were so awesome that my envelopes had to have additional postage stamps! I just can't resist sharing all the fun new goodies I get from Stampin' Up. I love spoiling my club members! Ordering for Class of the Month club is open, and there's plenty of...
June 30, 2017 Just a quick and simple little card today. I wanted to play with the new embossing paste, and this was my first attempt! I was inspired by Nance’s sketch at The Paper Players Sk…
Look at the cute little faces! Over the Moon (#149331) will be available in 3 short days! You will be able to order this from my online store starting at noon on the 4th. I was inspired to make this card because of a card I spotted on Pinterest (thank you Rachel Brumley). I love the idea of a filmstrip card. Unfortunately SU doesn't sell a die to make the filmstrip BUT we can easily create one using the Layering Square dies! I stamped each cow with Memento ink and colored with Stampin' Blends and then ran them through my die cutting machine with the Layering Square dies. The black strip behind measures 1 3/4" x 5". The background design is not designer paper. In fact it is simply one of the stamps from the set randomly stamped in Memento and touched with Mango Melody blends ink. To create the moon, I used the 2" circle punch from Mango Melody cardstock and layered a "shadow" behind using Basic Black cardstock. It may be hard to see but I used clear Wink of Stella over the surface of the Mango Melody moon for some added sparkle! Are you getting excited for the new 2019 - 2020 catalog???
