CARD Happy Halloween!! Here's a quick and fun Halloween card idea from the Spooky Fun stamp set. Designed by Lynn Anderson.
I planned to make a daylight landscape with various patterns for the "hills" that I saw in this sketch. As it turned out, I couldn't pass up the cool spotty print from the Halloween Night collection. It made the perfect night sky. The Halloween Scenes edgelits and coordinating stamp set "Spooky Fun" live up to the name - they are fun to create with, and scenes come together easily. To create the long fence, I cut two lengths of fence out of Smoky Slate. I overlapped one of the fence posts on each and trimmed the ends. While most of the pieces in this bundle are Halloween elements, the fence and tree will prove to have many more applications. Thank you for checking out my challenge card. Please visit Create with Connie and Mary to see the cards created by my talented teammates as … Continue reading →
First let me say, where did my Summer go? No, I cannot believe we are headed into the Fall. Okay, I'm done venting (I am an absolute Summer girl). Second, the Holiday Catty is live, Yippee!!! My Stamp Club meets on Saturday, and this is one of the cards/projects they… Read More

One of my favorite bundles in the new Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog is called Spooky Fun. I love the variety of images in the set and coordinating framelits to cut them out. I used this bundle for the Try Stampin' On Tuesday Challenge #289. I started off with a piece...
Cindy Hall created a fun sketch for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Rectangle, rectangle, band, oval. Of course you don't have to use those exact shapes, but I didn't steer very far from Cindy's sketch. Gave me a great opportunity to play with some new Halloween products. What fun!
Here's a cute Halloween card for you today. I don't know about you, but I can't wait for Halloween! I love seeing all of the trick-or-treaters dressed up in their costumes and handing out candy to them. I hope it's good weather this year!! We start our card with an Old Olive card base, then added a layer of Pumpkin Pie card stock embossed with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder. Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder 133739 $7.50 Next, we die-cut all of those awesome "spooky" images (the fence and spooky tree) using the Halloween Scene Edgelits. These pieces were layered on top of a circle die--cut with the Layering Circles Framelits. Halloween Scene Edgelits 141842 $25.00 Layering Circles Framelits 141705 $35.00 We also stamped those cute jack-o-lanterns (from the Spooky Fun Stamp Set) in Basic Black ink. First, stamp the pumpkins. Then, add the faces to a clear block, make sure they line up with the pumpkins (it's so easy to do with our clear photopolymer stamps!) and then stamp. Those faces are just too cute!! The pumpkins were also die-cut with the Halloween Scene Edgelits. You can buy the stamp set and edgelits separately, or save 10% when you buy them in the bundle! Spooky Fun Photopolymer Stamp Set 142236 $16.00 Spooky Fun/Halloween Scene Edgelits Bundle 144439 $36.75 Finally, we stamped "happy halloween" from the Spooky Fun Stamp Set and flagged the ends to make a banner with our Paper Snips. We also added a cute Pumpkin Pie and Black Baker's Twine bow to the sentiment. Paper Snips 103579 $10.00 Halloween Night Baker's Twine 142027 $6.00 I hope you enjoyed this card! I know we enjoyed making it at our Group Meeting last month! If you'd like to make fun cards like this, consider attending the next Simple, Beautiful Card Class on Wednesday, November 9 anytime from 4-9pm (sorry, no Friday class in November). We make 4 cards at class for $15, or your cards are FREE with an order that day at class. Then... mark your calendars each month for this class..... the Simple, Beautiful Card Class meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 4-9pm and the following Friday from 1-3pm. Check out this spooky Halloween framed decor I made yesterday. This is one of the projects for my upcoming Halloween Treats class. My demonstrator friend BJ did a framed decor similar to this layout. I loved hers & changed it some- coming up with this project for my upcoming class. I think it turned out super cute! When I showed it to Deke last night he thought it was cool! So that was a nice compliment of his approval. The size of this is 5x7". Everyone will get to make the 5x7 Halloween insert at my Halloween Treats class, but the frame is not included in the class. I just bought this one at Dollar General for $2.00- so it wasn't expensive. It is just a black plastic frame. ++++++++ Oh wow- I spent my whole day stamping yesterday!! I finished a monthly swap I'm in & got it all ready to mail out yesterday moring! And then I spent the rest of the day creating the remainder of the treat projets for my upcoming Halloween Treats class. I shared the 'fun fold' cards with you last week, but you can see them again by CLICKING HERE to see my Halloween Treats class fun fold cards! Deke is off early to chore this morning & then head to the office for his weekly board meeting. I'm off early to go pick up the boys, as Manda has an early meeting this morning. I am hoping the weather is nice today, as I plan to take the boys to the What Cheer park to play this morning. Tonight when they all go home I'll be burning the midnight oil working on creating cards for my monthly September classes. Gotta run...... I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!! Happy Stamping! Hugs- SUSIE

It’s Friday! Time for fun. Let’s start with a Spooky Fun Holiday Catalog sneak peek. Are you scared yet? Not from the card, silly. Scared that you’ll want everything in the new holiday catalog?
Happy World Cardmaking Day (yes, I know it was yesterday, but just able to post today!) Halloween is closer than I thought and actually started getting some candy for the little trick or treaters. It's a bit dangerous getting the goodies this early as they don't always make it til Halloween in this house ;) Thanks to these challenges for the inspiration: Simon Says Stamp - World Card Making Day Creative Corner - "Boo" Dies R Us - Halloween Curtain Call - Going Batty Die Cuttin Divas - Anything Goes

Here's a sneak peek at what the 2016 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog has in store for you. On page 52 you'll find the Spooky Fun stamp set along with the Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies. These are great on their own, but Stampin' Up! has bundled them together, which gives you a 10% savings! Also on page 52 you'll see where Stampin' Up! has used both the stamp set and edgelits dies to create a cute gift bag. Well, I decided to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) the bag and turn it into one of my Halloween cards for this year. Here is my card: Isn't it cute? You really can't tell, but in addition to sponging the tree, I "winked" it. It finished off the card without making it too feminine. Remember, to look for those bundles in the catalog and save 10%. Well, it's time for one last Halloween post. The Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog has so many great products, and this is one of my favorite; the Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies on page 52. Although this is designed for Halloween, several of the edgelits can be used for other occasions. I created the banner with the Sweet Home and Home Sweet Home Thinlits Dies on page 40. This bundle is so well designed, that you can produce cards or 3-d projects, for Halloween or Christmas. The Designer Series Paper is my favorite, Festive Birthday on page 173 of the annual catalog. The orange page works perfectly for Halloween projects.

When you send a Halloween card to your spooky friends, you're participating in a tradition that's more than 600 years old. And while the act of sending a Halloween card isn't quite that old, the first greeting cards sent date back to the 1400s. Germans are said to have printed New Year's greetings a
