It's another day and I have another Sweet Candy Canes card, this time a vision in red. What do I love about this card? Well for starters, how about those cute candy canes? The stamps and Candy Cane dies make them so easy! And then, there's that Split Card background - OMG, what a great way to add some peek-a-boo interest! I used the Split Card Textures dies with Basic White cardstock, and layered it over a piece of the Sweetest Christmas patterned paper. Such an impact! And so easy! And look at that sweet bow! This is from the Country Wreaths dies, but is the perfect decoration for these candy canes, don't you think? So what do you think? Have I sold you on the Sweetest Christmas Suite yet? If you'd like to order any of the products mentioned here, head over to this site. And if you're not sold yet, c'mon back tomorrow - I'll have another go at you! Hi Everyone, Well, I just can't get enough of the More Than Autumn Stamp Set. This time I paired it up with the Merry Christmas from the Peaceful Season Stamp Set. I went full on Christmas for this card by stamping the little candy canes in Real Red & the little gingerbread man in Pecan Pie to make a scattered effect. Then I used some Petal Pink to stamp the sprinkles to fill it in. The candy cane paper comes from the Snowy Scenes DSP which has such adorable papers in it. Hope you enjoy! Thank you to all the lovely people who have commented and sent good wishes and prayers for me. Gosh that is super sweet. I truly appreciate it. Sometimes a gal feels alone in this battle concerning ones health. I'm glad to have blog friends who understand. 💗 I'm still dealing with the tingles, but I'm going to focus on what I can still try and do, and remind myself God is in control. I made this card for the challenge at: Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge The stamp sets featured in this card are: Stampin Up: Candy Cane Season Stampin Up: Zoo Globe I was so excited to order this set because I use to collect snow globes. I just love them. I had quite a collection and the same with Christmas cards we had received over the years. Then one year I thought I should get rid of a great majority. I REGRET that. I took a few pictures of the only globes I have left. The little Santa one is my oldest. I received it when I was a child. As I was making this card I was curious to what the birds think of the koalas up in the trees. I wonder if they all get along, and just fly by and say to themselves, that tree is occupied, I shall find another. Then I thought what if a bird has a nest up in the tree, does the koala bother it? Oh I suppose I could look things up on google, and rabbit trail myself into a whole web of studying to which nothing will get done as far as chores are concerned, but at least I will know about the birds and koala bears haha. Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Keep Smiling and Keep Stamping 💗PJ * Please stop in at my Etsy shop. You might just find a stamp or stamp set you NEED to purchase. Perhaps even a card. I know I'd greatly appreciate the sales.😊

So are you excited or what? It's release day for Catherine Pooler's stamp of Approval Candy Cane Lane Collection!!! I hope you had time to check out all the blog hops showing peeks over the past few days.. .if not you can see the complete list of designers here on Catherine's blog! Stamp of Approval takes all the guess work out of creating. This collection of stamps and dies is designed to work fabulously together. They are released quarterly and sell out quickly (The last one sold out in 33 hours!!) You get a box full of amazing stamps and dies, but you also get a downloadable PDF Project Guide with tons of project tutorials using them! I really loved the opportunity to work with these stamps and I know you will too. They are really versatile (if you've been checking the peeks you already know that!) Here's a fun card that you can easily mass produce for Christmas or Holiday giving (there are different sentiments in the set so you can customize it). I started by stamping the sentiment on white card stock and then die cutting it with a circle die. You can also use a punch if you like. Next I traced the circle in pencil on a panel that was sized for my card front. I added distress ink - (spun sugar) working my way out from the center - no worries about smudges or how dark it is in the center - we're going to cover that up! I stamped the winter berries in a circle around the perimeter of the circle, alternating the colors of the berries (light red, dark red). To finish it off I adhered the circle die cut sentiment in the center with adhesive foam tape. I love the monochromatic design and the clean look of this card. A sprinkle of sparkling clear sequins add a touch of sparkle and shine! Lots of other designers are posting today with projects make with the kit. You can find a complete list and find out how to get a kit of your own here at Catherine Pooler's Blog! Good morning friends! I'm winding down with the Christmas projects, this is one of the ones I've been putting off since last Christmas! You see, last year right after Christmas I saw these gorgeous old fashioned candy canes in the liquor store on clearance. I snapped up whatever they had left thinking they would keep till this holiday. Well, I stored them in a box in a kitchen cabinet and when I went to get them out a couple of months ago, they were completely ruined. Melted and gooey and icky! Who would have thought hard candy could do that? I didn't. But as it turned out, these are all natural, no preservative candy canes from Hammond Candies, so they weren't meant to last that long, lol! Well, I waited, and waited to see them again in the liquor store this year, and when I didn't see them I had to order them from the Hammond Candy web site. They are just so beautiful, and come in luscious flavors. My favorite is the chocolate filled cherry one. YUM! There's also cinnamon filled, gingerbread, pear, apple... Anyway, they're so beautiful I couldn't cover them up in a box, or package, so this is what I came up with; They're very, very big candy canes (9") so this folder style card with the cane attached is very big. Pretty, but kind of cumbersome. How about that antique candy cane DP from Karen Foster? Is it a perfect match to these or what?! The image is from Penny Black, water colored with Distress inks and markers. I went back with some colored pencil to do the soft amber glow around the image. The rest of the candy canes are much simpler, with just a tag attached to it. Some more snowmen, one from Penny Black again and the other from Whipper Snapper. The candy cane on the left is the gingerbread flavor one, and on the right is peppermint. Aren't the colors just divine! I haven't tried the gingerbread one yet, but the peppermint and cherry ones are delish. It's off to work for me, but I've got quite a few days off this week, thank goodness, I plan on baking those snowflake cookies. Of course I'll take pictures and share them here. Thanks for dropping by, have a great week!
