Oh my goodness, this Bundle is TOO cute! It's called the Sophisticated Sled Bundle and I must tell you, the dies are over the top darling! Let me show you what I mean... Look at the skates in the picture above. The dies cut out the white skates with little slits for the laces. Then there are other dies for the laces. I used Pretty in Pink cardstock, cut out the laces, and then tucked them into the little slits in the skates. They fit perfectly and look so realistic. There are separate dies for the blades, and I used

My youngest son was invited to a Lego Party the other week. It wasn't hard for me to work out what kind of card to make the 7 year old. I know there are a lot of these types of cards out there and this is my version. Hope you like it. So for this card I used Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Gumball Green (I'll be sad when this colour goes). I used the Dotted Embossing folder from the Sale-a-Brations Collection as a base plate. The blocks were punched out using the 1" Square Punch and the circle punch from the Itty Bitty pack. I made two layers of circles to give dimension and then I used the white Gel Pen to add highlights and more dimension. I just glued the dots on using a liquid glue which makes it easier to centre them against each other by moving them around till they look right. The Birthday Boy absolutely loved it and I was pretty pleased too. So easy and fairly quick to make as well.
I used the Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies stamp set to create a clean and simple sympathy card to share with you today.

It has been brought to my attention that I often design cards with a bold angle. Sometimes it stems from a sketch that inspires me, but sometimes it adds an interesting twist to the straight up-and-down designs I most frequently create. Either way, a diagonal slant often finds its way

Good morning Really horrible wet day here today but I am a happy bunny as Thursdays are now my Stampin UP days! I dont do any weddings on Thursday, just SU projects!!!!! And also my parcel with my new ribbons etc is out for delivery!! Woo hoo!!!!! OK, A few people asked for a tutorial on the trifold card that I made last week so here goes!! You need a Scorer/Trimmer, 1 sheet of A4 card and some patterned paper cut 9cm wide You need to score along the long side to divide the card into 3, I usually score at 9.9cm from one side and then score in at 9.9cm from the other side. You then need to slice off a piece on a diagonal as shown in picture below, start at top left corner and then come down to the bottom right but not right into the corner, I usally come up about 7 or 8 cms. You should then be left with a piece of card like this And folded it looks like this! Ok, this is how I make sure I have neat layers. I take a piece of patterned paper (9cm wide) and then lay it over the tallest section like the photo below. I then make a pencil mark (you can see it on the left) and then cut from the top corner to the pencil mark So you should be left with the piece like this Repeat on the smaller section using the same design, please note I havent stuck the tall piece down wonky!! It moved as I took the photo!!!! Then its really important that you turn the card over! The alternative patterned paper should be on the opposite side of the card to the white paper, like below You then should have something like this! I have then decorated mine using the Flight of the Butterfly set and the Tiny Tags Papers are Night and Day, only available for limited time! CLose ups! Right I am going to stalk the UPS driver now!! Edit: Video added I am often asked about my paper cuts, many of you would like to know how I go about doing them. I begin with a piece of paper that measures 12" x 12" which is then folded......there are several sites that show how to create paper snowflakes, you can see the folding steps here Fold (you will notice in the following photos that the excess at the top gets cut away) I then draw the image I want to repeat. It will need to fit onto one section of the folded paper I unfold the paper and using a light box, transfer the image onto one section, then refold. I use a set of mirrors to see exactly what I will get once I have finished cutting The tools I use Staples hold the layers tightly together, punched holes allow for easier maneuvering of the scissors. Now, I am ready to make those cuts, small sharp scissors are an absolute must! More cuts are made...... notice that I am cutting so that I always have something solid to hold on to. I am showing you lots of photos so you can see that I "plan" each cut Cutting is complete Carefully unfold. It is delicate and must be handled gently Once I have it unfolded, I use a dry iron to press it flat. This one has 12 sections and is made up of birds and bees. Whatever you choose to draw, you need to be sure that everything is "connected" otherwise it will all just fall apart. Here is a video of the whole process Below is a sampling of some other themed papercuts I have created using this same method. Even though I had been designing this way, it had not occurred to me to cut snowflakes until I had taken a workshop conducted by Kathy K Wylie.....she takes "snowflakes"to a whole other level. If you seriously wish to create your own unique snowflakes and want to learn how to translate them into fabric, I suggest you get yourself a copy of Kathy K Wylie's book, Sewflakes
