Today, I’m sharing three Winter Holiday cards featuring the Let It Snow Collection by Simon Hurley. Warm Wishes Cards First, I die-cut the Starshine Background die from the Holiday Collection on waterfall card stock. Then, I die-cut the Frozen Flurries die from the Let It Snow Collection on white glitter card stock, which is one of them from the Handmade Holiday Pack. I made the snow slopes by die-cutting the Color Block Scenic Scape die. I used white and black card stock to die-cut the Penguins with the Playful Penguins die. Finally, I die-cut the handwritten Holiday die using red and white card stock. Dancing Penguin Christmas Card To create the card frame, I used the Emerald Cut Labels and Tag Die on matted Silver Metallic Card Stock. Next, I embossed the Frozen Flurries Die with an embossing pad instead of die-cutting it and then colored light blue with a blending brush on the embossed paper. I die-cut three penguins wearing sweaters and decorated them with accessories. I finished up with the Handwritten Holiday Die for the sentiments. Snowflake Christmas Card First, I blended blue and green ink on A2 size white card stock and sprayed water over it. Then, I die-cut the Frozen Flurries on white card stock and attached it to the color-blended panel. Also, I blended blue and green colors onto white cardstock, then die-cut a snowflake from the Layering Snowflakes die set using the blended cardstock & white glitter cardstock. I attached the snowflake with foam stickers in the center of the card and hot foiled the sentiments from the mistletoe Greeting Press plate onto red card stock. Thank you for reading my post. Hello everyone! I’m Mindy Eggen from Mindy Eggen Design and I’m excited to be back on the Spellbinders blog to share with you three different ways you can package your cards with clear bags/boxes. Clear boxes are so fun and versatile because you can either let the cards be the decor or decorate them yourself. With the assortment of products from Spellbinders, the possibilities are endless and can be used not just during the holiday season but for any occasion! The first project I want to shed light on is using the card as the decor. I have a stenciled card using the Layered Merry Christmas Foliage Bundle. Not only does it include a sentiment on the front but a beautiful array of foliage to frame the design. Since this bundle used poinsettias, I added multiple strings of twine wrapped around the box and secured it in place with the Stitched Poinsettia and Holly. A perfect finishing touch! The next box I decorated creates more anticipation as the recipient cannot see what’s inside. For this, I used a piece of light green cardstock as a cover. Then added the All Occasion Bow to the front paired with a sentiment from the Season’s Greetings Evergreens Press Plate. I love that we can hot foil with the press plates! For the last packaging idea, I added a piece of cardstock as the cover but this time used the Peppermint Stripes Embossing Folder. I wanted to keep the cover simple yet add a touch of interest and an embossing folder is great for this. Since keeping the cover simple, this gave me the opportunity to decorate it with wax seals. I die-cut the Sealed Twine from Brushed Gold cardstock and added the Christmas Truck wax seal done in Crimson Set to offset my reds. I had also added the Sealed Christmas Sprigs before adhering down the wax seal. While all of my inspiration is done for the holiday season, these are great for packing up Thank You cards to teachers so they can spread the joy of a handmade card with others. Or maybe someone loves to send birthday cards but does not have the time to create them would be another great time to package up those heartfelt messages. I hope you enjoyed the inspiration I’ve shared today. Hello friends. I've been busy with my die cut machine cutting loads of festive florals from the Spellbinders Holiday Blooms die set. This set is full of beautiful flowers and foliage. They are perfect for holiday cards and projects and most can also be used for other seasons by simply changing up the colors. The first thing I do when producing a large quantity of cards is all the die cutting. I choose my cardstock colors and cut loads of images. Then I glue multiples together usually two or three to create some dimension and texture on my cards. After I have them glued and stacked I start assembling my cards. I embossed the backgrounds for these cards using the Scenic Poinsettias 3D Embossing folder from Spellbinders. This folder is currently out of stock ( at the time I'm writing this), but there are so many other backgrounds that would also work well for this card. I'll link them below in the product suggestions. After embossing the A2 panels, I glued them to my card bases. I then got to work creating the JOY using the Joy Hot Foil Plate and coordinating die from PinkFresh Studios. Any bold holiday sentiment would work well here. After foiling the letters and cutting them out, I cut additional pieces from white cardstock to stack behind the letters. I love how the dimension looks. Finally, I was ready to create my festive bouquets. I positioned the JOY on the front of the card and added bits and pieces from the pile of flowers and leaves I created. Each card is different, with the same basic layout | design. This keeps me from getting too bored. Here's another version I created. And a close up look. Hello crafters! Joan Bardee here sharing some fun holiday cards made with the Stitched Bright collection. It’s a fun collection of dies – Stitched Holiday Tree, Stitched String Lights, and Stitched Starfilled Background. I didn’t embroider with these dies, but that’s the beauty of stitching dies – you can use them with or without embroidery thread. These cards are boldly non-traditional, both in style and color. That works for me, but if you want to tone them down, substitute softer colors. Scalloped Tree First up is the Stitched Tree set of dies, with the fun scallop border. Die cut just the backer dies for the tree in all 3 sizes in 3 different shades of green cardstock. Die cut the 2 trim dies in Poppy Field cardstock and adhered together as shown. Die cut the star from the Stitched Tree set in Mirror Metallic Gold cardstock and add Gold Mix Color Essential gems for sparkle. Finish off the modern tree with a hot foiled sentiment in gold from the Glitter Wishes Hot Foil Plate & Die set. With the tree done, it was time to work on the background. Stamped the card-sized Joyful Words clear stamp in Versamark ink for a tone-on-tone effect on Poppy Field cardstock. The tone-on-tone provides just a bit of interest without making the card look too busy. Trimmed that red panel and adhered it with foam tape to a full-size A2 Poppy Field layer on top of a white A2 card. Popped up the tree with foam tape and adhered it to the card. Took a bow! Tip: The Joyful Words stamp set is one of those sets that I think of as buried treasure in the Spellbinders website. I had no memory of it until I stumbled across it and then I had to have it. I like mixing older products that I already have, like Glitter Wishes, and older products that are new to me, like Joyful Words, with the latest products. Abstract Tree Sometimes I just like to play around with products until I see something that speaks to me. Used just the dies in Stitched Tree that trim the edges to make a modern “tree.” Die cut each of the dies as shown in the picture. When I laid out the border dies to create a tree, I realized that it would look better if I shortened 3 of the rows so that they would form more of a triangle shape. So I cut off one of the circles from 3 of the rows. Chose a blue background because I love the way it looks with the yellow/orange/red tree. Ran the Stitched Starfilled Background through the Platinum 6 using the directions to emboss rather than die cut. Using the same blue cardstock, I embossed a sentiment from Joyful Wishes in white. Put it all together as shown on top of a white A2 card and added a star and a white embellishment to top it off. Tip: When making a cardfront with dark cardstock, either place it on a card of the same color or trim an A2 white card just slightly so that the white edges don’t peek out. String Lights Black and turquoise? In keeping with the non-traditional theme, decided to use an unusual color palette for this card. Die cut each bulb in the Stitched String Lights set twice in 3 shades of turquoise (Teal Topaz and Waterfall from the Limited Edition Happy Day Cardstock pack and a darker shade from my stash). Die cut the string and the base of the bulbs in Mirror Metallic Gold cardstock. The string is one layer, the base of the bulbs and the bulbs themselves have 2 layers adhered together with my favorite Bearly Arts Glue. Hot foiled in gold a sentiment from A Merry Little Christmas Sentiments onto Brushed Black cardstock and cut with the coordinating die. Put it all together as shown onto Brushed Black cardstock, with a strip of Waterfall cardstock on the bottom, and then added some turquoise gems. All the bulbs and the sentiment are popped up with foam tape. Tip: Brushed Black cardstock, with its shine, has a holiday feel, particularly when used with another metallic. Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share how I created this fun Christmas envelope card using the new Envelope of Wonder Collection from Spellbinders. I love the idea of stuffing a big envelope full of festive elements and thought it would be fun to add some details to the envelope itself as well. Start by cutting the main parts of the envelope out of Forest Cardstock and the top flap layer out of Brushed Gold Cardstock. Emboss all of the main envelope parts using the Holly & Foliage 3D Embossing Folder. Lightly rub Gold Rush Lunar Paste over the raised areas of the envelope base layer with your finger. Assemble the envelope with liquid glue ensuring all of the embossed sides are showing to the front (no debossed panels here!). If you can’t see your score lines after embossing, you can take the panels to a scoreboard to reinforce the lines before creasing and applying glue to the tabs. Die cut all of the holiday icons from the Christmas Wonder Die Set using Crimson, Rainforest, Fern, Pomegranate, Mirror Gold, Dune, Latte, and white cardstock. Add some shading to each of the pieces using Mini Blending Brushes and Distress Inks – Aged Mahogany for red die-cuts, Rustic Wilderness for green, and Vintage Photo for brown/tan. Once shaded, assemble with liquid glue. For the peppermint candies, cut the wrapper from heavyweight vellum for a fun effect. Add shading before assembling, adhering the vellum layer to the back with liquid glue. Stamp a sentiment from the Envelope of Wonder Sentiments Stamp Set onto Crimson Cardstock using Embossing Ink, add white embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool. Thin, dainty sentiments like these can be hard to read if you press the stamp too hard into the paper, so it helps to use a stamp positioner, dust your cardstock with an anti-static pouch, and apply the ink multiple times with a very light touch. Die cut the sentiment out using the tag die from the Envelope of Wonder Die Set and add a small knot of Texture Champagne Narrow Ribbon to the hole. Embellish the tag with tiny holly leaves from the Christmas Wonder Die Set and some Fashion Poppy Pearls. Arrange the holiday icons in the envelope and adhere them down with a mix of liquid glue and foam adhesive for lots of dimension. Add some holly berries to the front of the envelope and the tag to the opposite corner. Other supplies White heavyweight cardstock, heavyweight vellum, Aged Mahogany, Rustic Wilderness, and Vintage Photo Distress Ink, foam adhesive. Hello! Jen Kotas is here today with three cards featuring the Happy Haunting Collection. I love making cute spooky cards and they don’t have to be just for Halloween. To create the dots with wax beads simply drop a small amount onto the silicone mat. It’s a great way to use up any extra melted wax on the spoon! Blend purple ink on a piece of Porcelain BetterPress A2 Card then impress with Spider Web Background Press Plate with the same ink. Adhere to an A2 card base. Die cut the image from Woof-or-Treat Etched Dies and assemble with liquid glue. Adhere to the card with foam tape. Create sentiment from All Seasons Autumn with Black BetterPress Ink. Cut out with coordinating die then twice more. Adhere together and to card. Create dots using Black, Twilight Purple, and Glow in the Dark Wax Beads and adhere throughout card. Blend lime green ink on a piece of Porcelain BetterPress A2 Card then impress with Pumpkins and Ghosts Background Press Plate with the same ink. Adhere to an A2 card base. Die cut the image from Fiona the Dancin’ Witch Etched Dies and assemble with liquid glue. Adhere to card with foam tape. To create the swinging legs, don’t attach the legs to the body. They legs should only have adhesive inside the loop. Create sentiment from All Seasons Autumn with Black BetterPress Ink. Cut out with coordinating die then twice more. Adhere together and to card. Create dots using Black, Citrine, and Glow in the Dark Wax Beads and adhere throughout card. Create wax seal using the Boo! Wax Seal Stamp and Glow in the Dark Wax Beads. Hot foil a piece of plum cardstock with the Candy Cane Stripes Press Plate and Black Hot Foil Roll. Cut out with the largest die from Perfect Touch Rectangles and Tag Etched Dies. Die cut an oval slightly larger than wax seal. Adhere to a piece of Brushed Black Cardstock using foam tape. Adhere to an A2 card base. Hot foil sentiment from Skully Press Plate with Aura Hot Foil Roll. Cut to a strip and adhere to card. Add wax seal to opening and adhere dots made with Glow in the Dark Wax Beads. Other Supplies Hero Hues Premium Cardstock, foam tape, Wilted Violet Distress Oxide, Twisted Citron Distress Oxide I’m so excited about the new Glow-in-the-Dark Wax Beads! They are fabulous! Hello, crafty friends! This is Emily Leiphart and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders blog, featuring the Let It Snow Collection by Simon Hurley. As soon as I saw those adorable penguins and pretty snowflakes, I couldn’t wait to create with these products. I went back to a favorite color palette of mine for these cards and I based it around the penguins but I also really love the contrast of the colors on the other two cards showcasing all the snowflakes. Can you guess which card I made first? Of course, it was the penguin card! I wouldn’t wait to dress up those penguins and I actually ended up making a bunch of penguins with winter clothing of all the different colors in this palette. It was so much fun but more on that later. Let’s talk about this rich card which features the Layering Snowflakes Dies. This is a set of three snowflakes in different sizes and you can use them on their own, as I have here, or layered. There are also shadows for them which I didn’t use but these dies are so versatile and you can get so many different looks with them. I cut my card base from eggplant cardstock and cut each size of snowflake from white glitter, cupcake, salt water taffy, and cookie monster cardstock. As soon as I was happy with my arrangement on the card base, I glued only the centers down and trimmed the overhanging sections. The snowflakes looked a little too flat so I glued a second layer on top and slightly offset them so they look a little blurry. Finally, I cut the Noel sentiment from Handwritten Holiday Sentiments. I used silver glitter and cookie monster cardstock for the letters, and eggplant for the shadow. Now on to these cuties from Playful Penguins! I just love their different body positions and accessories. You can use them on their own, in pairs or all three, which I absolutely had to feature here. I used their traditional black and white for the bodies and dressed them up in Cookie Monster, plum punch, and sat water taffy. Their feet match their accessories and I used Glitter Purple Foam Sheets for the Rudolph nose on the middle penguin. Their cheeks were cut from cupcake cardstock, and the gift and wreath were cut from eggplant and silver glitter cardstock. For the background, I used the Sparkling Snowflakes 3D Embossing Folder two-thirds of the way down and finished with a sentiment from Handwritten Holiday Sentiments. My third card features the incredibly intricate Frozen Flurries cutting plate, which I created with a gel printing plate, a small brayer, and dye inks. After I created the background, I ran it through my Platinum Six and saved the negative snowflakes for another card which you’ll see on my blog. Since I wanted to show off the gorgeous background and Frozen Flurries cutting plate, I kept my design simple and added a repeating sentiment from Handwritten Holiday Sentiments cut from eggplant cardstock and backed with vellum. To finish, I added a few silver pearl accents. I hope you find plenty of inspiration from this set cards featuring all of these products from the Let It Snow Collection!
