Hello stampers. You already know that I love this amazing new product in our Occasions catalog called Brusho. Well, it gets better. I have a very talented team member who just happens to be a watercolour artist as well, and she came and taught our team a few tricks with Brusho. I decided to focus on just a few of them that would translate very well into card making. One of my biggest aha moments was in realizing that you could get dramatically different results by changing the direction of the water spray. I was just spraying from the top
If you want to paint pretty flowers, but need a little nudge – this stamp set has some perfect images to get you rolling along. I’m using Brusho, though you can use other paints – but it’s easier, from my experience, to loosen up with Brusho. Note that though I wasn’t sure in the voiceover, […]

Helloooooooo again!! Today I thought I'd share three really simple cards that were created just with one colour of Brusho (Grey) and a black inkpad. I am SO proud that I can now do quick cards -lol!! And it's all thanks to Brusho paints as they honestly do all the work and effects for you. These cards were all created onto The Craft Barn's plain smooth card - I wanted to show that you don't always need to use watercolour card with them - different types of card will actually give you different effects making the paints even more versatile :). First up is a closer look at the tall card - The stamps used here are from a Stampendous stamp set called Bold Sprigs. You can see from the closer photo below that I also added some stamping with a grey inkpad as well as the black one and added some white dots to the black stamping using a Sakura white pen. Next up is the square card with only very simple stamping on it using that same Bold Sprigs stamp set. And as you can see from the close up photo below I chose to outline the black imagery this time with the white pen. Lastly this card shows how you can achieve a really quick wintery looking card - this time using a Woodware stamp set called Winter Trees. With this card I added some Shabby White embossing enamel to the 'snow area'. Well that's all for today. If anyone wants to see the fabulous Brusho powders in action I'll be back demoing at The Craft Barn on Saturday March 7th. Laters!!.......................
Here's another card I made while playing with my Brusho paints (see also my earlier post here). For this one I embossed the ferns first with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder on watercolour paper before sprinkling with the Brusho powder (I used black only) and lightly spraying with water. The embossing resisted the wet paint. I blotted it with a paper towel to remove the excess ink. Next I stamped the butterfly, followed by the ferns again, this time with Versafine ink on the right hand side of the card blank. I had considered colouring the butterfly, as on my earlier card, but decided not to as I rather liked the graphic quality of the black and white, with just the hint of colour in the Brusho background. I matted the picture with a thin black border and stuck it to the card. All stamps are by Chocolate Baroque. In this close up you can see the effect of the Brusho more clearly. It's great stuff to work with. Think I'll be playing with it again before long!

Hi bloggers! I have been back at it with the pixie powders again! I started by creating a pixied background using the Lava Red and the Candy Pink Pixie Powders for an intense colour. I used the Cascading Hearts die set and cut it on the diagonal for the aperture. I raised the background with foam. I used a piece of coconut white card with a strip of sticky adhesive sheet added to it on the diagonal, then covered the sticky sheet with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz. I added the background over it so the glittered area showed through the heart aperture. Next I cut an outline in white for the aperture using both dies from the Cascading heart set. I glued it to ht edge of the aperture. In the upper section, I used the "just wanted to say" mini expression and added in the "Hello" mini expression, all cut in white. IN the lower corner, I made three Passion Flowers and added glittery backings to them. I pearled the centres and added a satin ribbon bow and leaves as accents. White on white mats were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/4" in size. If you would like a chance to win this one, just leave a comment to be entered into the drawing. The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post. All for now, Sue x Follow my blog with Bloglovin
