Hi everyone, Today's cards use a few of the new stand-alone dies from the new release. First, I'm sharing a CAS (clean and simple) masculine birthday card made with Layered Leaves die 51-633. I die-cut the leaves from white card stock. I used a watercoloured piece from my stash ... this has a bit of sparkle, so I'm pretty sure it is a mix of Lindy's magicals on watercolour paper. I placed the die-cut leaves over the watercolour piece and traced with a pencil, then fussy-cut. Adhered the white over top of the watercoloured background and then adhered to my card front. I stamped a happy birthday sentiment (smile today! 30-461) in weathered wood distress ink. It matched pretty well! :) Close-up ... My second card uses the beautiful die, Creative Curves 51-611. This makes a lovely backdrop for any image. The bright white card front and black die-cut panel create a lot of contrast in this design. A pretty stamped butterfly (Wings and Vases 30-704), coloured with zigs and fussy-cut is all that's needed to complete this design, along with a simple black stamped sentiment, Good Wishes 30-541. My third card uses the new Bench (51-621) die. Created a very loose watercolour wash for the background from green and blue inks. Stamped a leafy branch from the Country Charisma stamp set 30-690, watercolouring in two shades of green ink. Popped up the die-cut bench, which was sponged in two shades of brown ink. Finished with a blue ink stamped sentiment, Good Wishes (30-541). Thanks so much for dropping by! Happy Saturday! Today's post is for the midway inspiration for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The theme this month is Anything Goes with optional Make the sentiment the focus. Today's stamps are brought to you by Penny Black. I used the following stamps on today's card: Dreamy 40-102 Special Thoughts 30-338 and various older Penny Black stamps. And here's how I made my card: On watercolor paper, I created distressing with various shades of brown distress inks. Next, I stamped various PB stamps with lighter inks over the distressed background. I white embossed the Dreamy 40-102 flower, and stamped the verse from the Special Thoughts 30-338 set with archival ink. Finished off with a white string bow. Come on over and join us on the Penny Black Saturday challenge. We would love to see what you create. Thanks for stopping by.
Hello Friends, After a long time I made few cards just because I loved the stamp set so much that I couldn't stop myself making all of them at once. The set is Perspective by Penny Black (and glasses die too) . It is a mix of some wonderful sentiments and I tried to use them as creatively as I could. Lets start with first card. Honestly, I bought the set for this one single sentiment. It is all about perspective... as Dr . Dyre said...If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. The Card design is very simple. I have used their glasses die too to cut the specs. I kept the clouds grey except the one which are showing through specs to show the change in perspective. For second card I had to use this owl stamp by MFT because it is super adorable. I may add googly eyes or tiny hearts inside the small specs. I have stamped owl on pattern paper and added little bit of shading with copics. I have used bunch of different brand stamps for this card. Geometric background is by MFT, text background on panel is by Heroarts and fox and greenery is by Pinkfresh Studio. I cut through both the layers - card base & panel with glasses die. The inside of card which is visible thru glasses. Interesting...isn't it? For the next card, I again used MFT set for focal point with neat & tangled background die. I used these make-up brushes to blend oxide inks for the back drop. As the backdrop is colorful, I decided to keep images very subtle. The next card I made for my Ophthalmologist. It was so fun. Again, I used multiple stamps and dies to create background layers. Last card uses just Magnifying glass from the stamp set. Sentiment is computer generated which goes well with this mama elephant set. I hope you like these one set wonders. I totally enjoyed it. Thanks for being here. Have a great day!
Hi everyone. Today's card uses one of the dies from the latest release at Penny Black, called Refresh (51-817). I absolutely adore these lovely flowers in three different sizes. I die-cut them from mixed media paper and sponged with Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Carved Pumpkin). I mounted them over top of a die-cut and embossed background panel (Semi-Circle Stackers 51-706), popping up the panel with foam for added dimension. To finish this CAS design, I stamped the sentiment (Super Day 31-044) in Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and used my white Posca pen to add small dots to the flower centers. Close-up ... My card ... Pin it: Below is her card...just so beautiful!!! Cathy's version using doilies...visit SRM blog to see her tutorial let's just say hello to Cathy and thank her for her twist on this tutorial! For my today card I used the Way Cool! stamp set of the Penny Black Inc. As you can see I coloured the jersey of the little football player to the colours of the FC Barcelona :-) With my card I would like to join: - the challenge of the Penny Black and More: For the boys - the Monday Challenge of the Simon Says Stamp blog: Red, white and blue
I saw a card by Birgit (her cards are works of art!!) done with the Pinwheel flower die from Penny Black, and had to have this pretty flower...love it's pretty rounded petals!! I made two cards, giving the flower die two different looks... The first one I die cut on watercolor paper...using some yellow ink and water to give the center some yellow, as my enamel dots were either too small or too big, so the ink gives it a broader look to fit the dot. I had my Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves die out and die cut a textured piece of Tim Holtz paper for the leaves, adding a layer underneath it. The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti, dotted with a yellow rhinestone...rounding one corner. The second one, I thought to make a black-eyed susan. I used regular card stock, but still painted the center...this time with brown ink, using a sharpie marker to give my brown enamel dot a bit darker color. I used a couple leftover leaves from the Simon Leaves die from above, and used my Martha Stewart scoring board to give the leaves AND the flower's petals some definition! The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp...the "i" in sunshine dotted with a small enamel dot:)!! The striped paper is My Mind's Eye Chalk Studio. Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa InLinkz.com
