Here is another card using one of my new Memory Box dies. I simply used the die to cut out a portion of the panel. I added the sentiment (from Hero Arts), added some Perfect Plum cardstock under the die-cut part, and mounted on foam squares. Ta-da! :) Edited to add: The die I used is called Distressed Addington Collage from Memory Box. This is the entire die. There are four designs with the set. I ordered mine from Cropstop, but I don't see it on her website right now. (This link may or may not work: Distressed Addington Collage. If not, you can go to the Memory Box website and search for it. PS - I got two new Memory Box die sets for my birthday - this set and the Stitched Rectangles set. Both were purchased from Cropstop. They were both on sale.) Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Hi Everyone, I have a card today inspired by this card by Cathy of Cathy's Card Spot and her use of Alcohol inks combined with dry embossing. Here is my take on this technique. I cut the Memory Box Kensington Branch out of mirrored card stock and then painted with Alcohol inks. I then dry embossed on Crafter's Companion Shimmering cardstockwith Spellbinders M-Bossabilities and THEN cut the Kensington Branch out of that (if you die cut and THEN emboss you will distort the negative image....ask me how I know!). I then attached the card stock to PTI white card stock with Darice sparkle tape on the side (I love that stuff, it is soft, pliable and has the best sparkle). Pearls added into the flower centers. You might notice that I was a little haphazzard about what I punched out and what stayed in the butterfly parts of the die but I don't think it matters. For the die cut sentiment, I first took the same sparkle tape and applied it to a scrap piece of the shimmer card stock. I then cut the Serendipity word die and again out of Bazzill Mirrored gold card stock and off set slightly. For the inside I just cut and layered another piece of the die and used liquid pearls in flowers and corners of the soft pink card stock
Good Tuesday morning. My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple Challenge. I have used a mix of different die companies for this project but love how it all goes together. Today has been a challenge. My mom was scheduled for open heart surgery today ... and unfortunately, her surgery was postponed at the last minute, yet again. She now has to wait until the end of August and we're hoping that third times a charm and the surgery will go ahead as scheduled. For those friends and family who have been concerned, I thank you. Please continue to keep my mom in your thoughts ... On to the card for today. I needed to come home and just chill out so I headed into the art studio - one of my favorites places to be. I had die-cut two poppies a while ago from watercolor paper and used the re-inker technique to color them. I was happy with how they turned out, but just hadn't found the time to make them into a card yet. Turns out that today's Color Throwdown Challenge #204 is Basic Gray, Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla and Pumpkin Pie --- perfect, I could use my poppies! I decided I wanted it to be bolder than the two-poppy die, so I cut out three more sets and used parts of them to make a small field of poppies. Hope you like. "Field of Poppies" Stamp: Sincere Salutations (SU!) Paper: Watercolor Ink: Basic Gray; Re-inkers: Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Real Red, Old Olive (SU!) Accessories & Tools: Big Shot, Prim Poppy die (Memory Box), water mister, Aqua Painter, Stamp-a-ma-jig, glue dots, glue, and dimensionals I die-cut four sets of the two poppies from watercolor paper. I cut three of them apart, creating individual stems, leaving one set intact. I used the Re-inker Spread technique to watercolor the dies (see tutorial in Techniques section of this blog). By combining Tangerine Tango and Real Red inks, I managed to get fairly close to the Poppy Parade color of the challenge. I arranged the watercolored poppies on my watercolor paper card base until I was happy with them. I glued down the stems and added dimensionals to the flowerheads and rolled glue dots to the buds. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement of the sentiment, which was stamped in Basic Gray ink.
