Wanted to make a special card for my sister's 25th Anniversary. As soon as I saw Hussena's card on Pinterest I knew that's the card I wanted to case! Laura & Mark were married at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, on a terrace with an ocean view. This was my inspiration photo (pre-ceremony): Hussena's background was beautifully watercolored, my background is brushed with Distress inks and Clarity brushes. Had fun making the spiral flowers! They are so tiny it took some practice, but worth it. I used Hammermill 100lb cardstock for the flowers, they are quite sturdy. I felt 110 would be too thick. The Spellbinders Susan's Garden Ultimate Toolkit really came in handy! The tweezers and forming tools added dimension to the dress flowers, boutonniere and foliage. Went through my Spellbinders sets and found a few with small foliage. All of the main elements are double-thickness. The dress and tux are popped on low foam tape. Stamps: MFT Essential Sentiments Dies: SB Ornamental Arch, SB Wedding Dress & Tux, IO Spiral Flowers, MFT Cherry Blossoms, Altenew Featured Sentiments Foliage dies: SB Be Bold Blooms, SB Enchanting Pocket Card Tag & Envelope, SB Victorian Splendor Slimline Happy 25th Anniversary, Laura & Mark!
My sister Julie has a birthday this coming week. Her favorite color is blue and I decided to use these great flower dies from Spellbinders to cut out different shade of blue cardstock. The centers of the flower were ink blended to add some shading and depth. The flower centers were cut gold mirror cardstock. I had a hard time getting an arrangement I liked for this card and finally settled on this one, but it wasn't my favorite. It just looked to blah. I decided to take a blue Copic Marker
Hello friends, today I am sharing a fun card I made using some 'new to me dies' that Spellbinders released in the Spring 'Bold Blooms'! If you like making easy but pretty flowers, then this is the die for you! I usually try to take some fun things with me when we go to our lake house for a few weeks at a time and normally take all my stencils and some inks, but this time I squeezed in these dies and lots of different colors of scrap papers. I have an old Big shot side kick at the lake house and it works just fine with these dies! I am joining the Seize The Birthday challenge and created 'this' card just for that! You will be seeing many more cards using these SB Bold Blooms and also I didn't stop there, I also purchased flower dies from Concord & 9th Picked Posie and Pretty Pink Posh Spring Foliage which the little blue flower next to the happy birthday is from that set! I didn't load the card up with flowers like some do on this card but kept it more simple to show off the embossed background a little!!
