My husband needed a sympathy card for a co-worker who had recently lost his father. I pulled out the Stampin’ Up! Very Versailles and Peaceful Moments stamp sets to create a clean and simple…
Do you have any stamp sets that you purchased because you love it but just never got around to using? Very Versailles is that stamp set for me. I loved the vintage images in this set and I had to own it. When our Team S.T.I.C swap came around this month I decided that this set needed to see some ink! I had in my mind to make a sympathy card for someone and I felt like the soft images would work well. (because if you're making 10 cards for a swap you may as well make one or two more since all the supplies are out anyway) I used Merry Merlot ink and cardstock which I think is a colour that works amazingly well for vintage feel cards. For the sentiment I went right to the Heal Your Heart Saleabration Stamp set. (get this stamp set free with your $60 order!) Here's the card I added some splatters of Wink of Stella to give a special touch to the card. I also used the new blending brushes and some soft suede ink to give the card more of a vintage, aged feel. I will post the supply list below. Hope this card inspires you to ink up some of your less used stamps! Don't forget: Saleabration ends Feb. 28th and I'm sending saleabration off in style with a Saleabration Finale party in my facebook group on Tuesday! Way back - well, maybe four or five years ago - when I'd just discovered stamping, and then the world of the online stamp challenge, I came across a speed challenge at As You See It. I was so intrigued by the idea that you could make a card in a sprint! Maybe that revelatory moment is why I harbour a secret love for the speed challenge. That's right, this week, it's Speed Week once again! This time round, we're working with shades of brown to create a card in ten minutes or less. Before you go off thinking that's impossible, it's not! I love the challenge of thinking up an idea that might work, then assembling what I need. You're allowed to have your stamps mounted and out on the desk, the embossing folder already out of the drawer, the die cutting machine all set up. But once you take the first cut or ink up the first stamp, make sure that timer is turned on. This is what I created in 8 minutes, 33 seconds. I had the idea of what it would look like and I had all the tools out on my desk before I started the timer. I always cut the base first so as soon as I picked up the piece of A4 Early Espresso to cut and fold, the timer went on. It helps to have some shortcuts thought up too, just in case some things take longer. For instance, I coloured the pearls with the Soft Suede marker but if I'd been running out of time, I'd have put them on uncoloured. Or, if time had been looking like it was going by too fast, I'd have punched out the sentiment rather than die-cutting it with the Stitched Shape dies. We'd love to see what you can do in a sprint with shades of brown. You can see what the rest of the team have done, and link up your entry, at the As You See It Challenge site. The challenge is open until Wednesday 12 February (11.55p.m. PST). If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I can help you with ideas, get you catalogues and provide you with Stampin' Up products. Anyone else hanging on to summer? The last few days have been so warm and sunny it’s hard to believe Autumn is just around the corner. Today’s card has a summery feel to it with bright, fresh blue and green tones. If you follow my blog you may remember a recent post where I added a video showing how to watercolour using ink refills. I have used the same technique here with the butterfly, die cut using a detailed Brilliant Wings die.The textured background is stamped directly onto an A6 card base.

Hello there! Im so grateful you stopped by today! I have a project to share with you using a beautiful stamp set from the Annual Catalogue called Very Versailles. I must admit that the first time I saw it I overlooked it but upon closer inspection, its beauty jumped out at me! Here is the project; Wanna see the stamp set? Here is a closer view; It is a DistINKtive style stamp set which creates depth in the stamp set without even trying. It reminds me of one of my favourite all-time stamp sets Carte Postal - do you remember that one? I started with a Crumb Cake card base (portrait) and stamped the text, and two other stamp images in the background using crumb cake. The main stamped image is using Mossy Meadow ink on a 11.1x6.7cm piece of Very Vanilla. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso and then adhered this piece onto a piece of Mossy Meadow (11.4x7cm). I then mounted this onto the card base using dimensionals. And thats it! I love how it turned out - what do you think? I have made this video so you can see just how easy and fast this card is to make. If you have any questions at all about my video - please don't hesitate to ask! I have updated our card templates so be sure you check your emails. You will receive FREE updates if you have purchased the templates in the past. During my latest YouTube live session, I shared some holiday crafting magic with you. We worked on three festive projects, including two Christmas cards and a treat box, using the Night Divine bundle. With a color scheme of Night of Navy, Gold Foil, and Very Vanilla, we created a touch of Christmas elegance. If you missed the live presentation, you can watch the replay below. To infuse a touch of vintage charm into my projects, I employed the heat embossing technique with the Distressed Tile embossing folder. It's a simple yet stunning method: after embossing the card stock, a gentle
