Today’s tutorial is for a quick Mischievous Mice card. This set is exclusive to customers hosting a party/shopping the qualifying amount.

HUES OF HAPPINESS When I saw the cover photo on Stampin' Up!s new Annual Catalogue I instantly fell in love with the featured card. The cover card apart from the leaf stamps and sentiment is totally made up by combining designer series paper (DSP) and flower images cut from the Hues of Happiness designer series paper. This DSP is simply beautiful and I can tell you it sure makes me smile every time I look at it. The paper is part of the Hues of Happiness Suite (158828). This paper features illustrated and painted flowers on one side and a selection of coordinating all-purpose patterns on the other side. The concept artist(s) who designed Hues of Happiness chose the colours so they'd represent the Stampin' Up! colour spectrum. What wonderful art work. The repeating patterns can be used as focal images, accent pieces or elegant backgrounds and are terrific for card bases and scrapbook pages. The Hues of Happiness DSP coordinates perfectly with the following Stampin' Up! colours: Coastal Cabana Daffodil Delight Flirty Flamingo Fresh Freesia Gorgeous Grape Granny Apple Green Mango Melody Melon Mambo Mossy Meadow Night of Navy and Pool Party. Here are Some Card Ideas I came up with: I haven't purchased the Happiness Abounds Bundle (158824) which includes the Happiness Abounds stamp set and the Blossoming Happiness dies yet as I just wanted to get my hands on the DSP. In particular these two sheets: While I was watching tv I fussy cut all the roses, leaf images and the small flowers that were in the background. Literally there was hardly anything in the scrap pile as everything was cuttable and useable. While I was at it I pre-cut card bases and mats from the coordinating card stock colours and before adhering these mats I die cut stitched circles, squares and rectangles to use on the fronts of my cards from their centers. I also used a variety of embossing folders to add designs to my 3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White mats, and left enough space for a larger type sentiment. Card Bases: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" Mats: 1st mat for card front - 4" x 5 1/4" (1) and cut 1 for the inside Whisper White layer 3 3/4" x 5" for front and one for the inside. The card base for this card is Starry Sky, followed by a layer of silver foil card stock. The embossing was done on the top part of the whisper white mat with the retired Meadow Moments Embossing Folder. I stamped the "thanks" sentiment which is from the Artistically Inked stamp set in Starry Sky ink. The flowers were adhered directly to the white mat with adhesive except for the Fresh Freesia flower which was attached with dimensionals. Here is another version of the thank you card. On this one I've used a Fresh Freesia mat for contrast and used a 3" Starry Skye stitched circle as a base for the floral arrangement. The embossing folder is called Greenery (Retired). embossing folder to For this thank you card I didn't do any embossing in the background, choosing to leave it plain, but I changed up the mat and flower colours and added a double stitched circle mat in Fresh Freesia and Whisper White. The sentiment is from Plentiful Plants (155693). Basic Pearls add a touch of nostalgia to this card. I built a larger bouquet of the Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo floral images and framed them using the Stitched With Whimsy (155314) dies. My final card is a fun fold flap card. I totally loved this as I was able to use a mixture of designs. And because I love this Flap Card so much, I made another one featuring some bolder papers from the Hues of Happiness DSP. We do this on the first Saturday of the month. We set a monthly challenge and this is drawn in the live and we send a small prize to the winner. We didn't manage to do a live in June so it was so lovely to craft together after 2 month. Why not join us next time. Click here to join our group :-) This week we were both using the Hues Of Happiness DSP. I have used my Scan N Cut to cut out the flowers from 2 of the sheets. There are dies to cut out many of the flowers but it was quicker with my machine and also I could cut them without a border, which was the look I wanted for this project. Measurements and Materials Card size when collapsed 7" x 5" Although I did place my flowers outside this parameter! One sheet of Highland Heather card stock Score on the long side @ 2 1/2" - 5" - 7 1/2" - 10" Score on the short side @ 4" Trim the card stock down to 7" x 10 1/2" The long strip will be cut in half and then 4 strips will be made The strip will be trimmed to 1/2" either side of the score lines This will make 4 supports that will be stuck across the box which is what the decorations will be attached to. 1/4" strips of window Sheets were cut to stick the flowers to I used the Silver & Gold DSP that is FREE in Sale-A-Bration for the mats to decorate the box I used both Highland Heather & Gorgeous Grape to create an Ombre affect on the mats 3 for the bottom of the box - 3 3/4" x 2 1/4" 6 for the top flaps - 2 3/4" x 2 1/4" 1 for the back section - 6" x 2 1/4" For the back of the box I used Basic White Cardstock, one on the back to write your message 6 3/4" x 2 1/4" Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-) Video Tutorial Click below to see the video tutorial :-) Time for the closeups! Hi Everyone, This week I have made an Envelope Flap Fun Fold card which I saw demonstrated by the lovely Susan Campfield from USA (I've tweaked the measurements for UK A4). It's a style I haven't tried before but I really like it and it was very quick to make. Let me show you what I did, sorry, not sorry I have used the Hues of Happiness again haha. Materials 1 piece of night of navy card 4 1/8" x 5 7/8" 1 piece of basic white card 5 5/8" x 7 3/4" 1 piece of dsp 4" square, 3 large flowers and 2 sets of leaves either die cut or fussy cut Happiness Abounds stamp set Blossoming Happiness dies Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine Trimmer Paper snips Simply Scored Bone Folder Multipurpose adhesive Dimensionals Iridescent rhinestones Take Your Pick Tool Night of navy ink Instructions On the long side score the white card at 3 7/8" and fold and burnish to make a card base. Stamp a sentiment at the bottom of the card front, in the middle and one on the inside of the card, I also stamped a floral image too. Adhere this to the night of navy mat. Put the dsp square in the trimmer on the diagonal and line up the points in the track and SCORE don't cut (ask me how I know haha). Add adhesive to the inside of one half of the diamond shape and add to the inside of the card front and fold the remainder over the front of the card. This piece is left as a flap which will tuck under the flowers. Die cut, or fussy cut three of the large flowers and two sets of leaves from the dsp and add to the card front. Add the centre one on dimensionals at the point of the envelope flap so that you can tuck that underneath it (see picture). Add some bling to the flower centres and some either side of the sentiment and the card is complete. Please pop over and see what Donna and Victoria have made too. October is Pastor Appreciation month so I used the FMS sketch to make a simple card for my pastor and his wife; they both prefer clean designs, so this is what I came up with: Here's the sketch (love things in THREES!): I stamped the three wheat images from Papertrey in Crumb Cake, Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider, and the sentiment in Soft Suede: After stamping the images, I diecut them with a zigzag-edged die from W+9. I always check out the weekly challenges from Festive Friday and this week I was totally inspired! The Design Team liked my card too...it was a Festive Friday Favorite! I love the clean, crisp look of yellow & black together. My card uses those colors, plus embossing and flowers. The measurements for this Triple Flap Gatefold Card came from my friend Beth Daniels - thanks Beth! Card base- Basic Black 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". Score at 2-1/8" on the long side (See Pro Tip below!) Inside of card - Basic White 4" x 5-1/4" Designer Paper - 2" x 5-3/8" (cut 2) Triple Flaps - Basic White 1-1/2" x 3-3/4" (cut 3) Mat Behind Triple Flaps - Basic Black 1-5/8" x 3-7/8" (cut 3) Pro Tip: Score & fold the gatefold card base at 2-1/8". Without scoring, fold the other side in so that the edges are perfectly aligned in the middle and score using a Bone Folder. This assures you will never have a gap in the center of your gatefold card. The flowers are stamped in Daffodil Delight, stems & leaves are Pear Pizzazz and the flower centers are Early Espresso. "Sending" is heat embossed in white on Basic Black cardstock and die-cut. I use my Stamparatus (always!) to get the sentiment perfectly straight. I love that Sending Smiles has so many different sentiments included, making this such a versatile stamp set! Here's another version that uses some Daffodil Afternoon Designer Paper (retired). Assembly Tips: Stamp and layer the 3 panels together. On the back of each panel, measure the center (about 1-7/8") and make a pencil mark. The top & bottom panels get liquid glue on the left half. Be careful to keep the glue about 1/4" away from your pencil mark. Attach these 2 panels, centering them left & right. Last, use liquid glue on the right half of the "Sending" panel and adhere it spaced equally between the other 2 panels. I hope you will try this fun card!
