This style of fancy fold card has been "popping up" lately on Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube. I've enjoyed the many variations I've seen, but I was looking for directions to make a standard size card (4.25" x 5.50") with the simplest steps and technique to use. I liked Joy Tracey's YouTube video the best (thanks Joy!) I changed the sizing a bit to create mine as the standard size I was looking for. See instruction photos at the end of this post. I used the bright and cheerful colored papers from Little Dreamer, plus a sheet of Thistle and Lagoon cardstock. The "HUG" letters are from the word Laugh in the May Stamp of the Month Set ~ Live, Laugh, Love. I just used the last three letters and spelled HUG. "HUG" Flowers colored with Peony Purple, Pastel Green, Turquoise, Light Orange ShinHan Touch Twin markers. Leaves stamped on Lagoon cardstock, shade with Turquoise Blue marker. For a touch of sparkle, add some Clear Shimmer Brush and a Little Dreamer Glitter Gem or two! Isn't she the cutest? I colored her hair with the Clay marker and heart with Peony Purple marker. Skin is with a flesh colored pencil. Dress and cheeks are with a Bubble Gum CTMH Watercolor pencil. I added touches of shimmer to everything on the card with the Clear Shimmer Brush. LOVE it! D1711 True Love - Operation Smile Stamp Set $7 of every purchased stamp goes to Operation Smile! This set retires July 31, 2017. S1705 Live, Laugh, Love ~ May 2017 Stamp of the Month set Cut and score the pieces as shown. You can skip the scoring on the 2nd piece by folding it in half, then opening it and folding each end in to meet the your first fold in the center. Does the trick without the scoring time! Use a bone folder to get good crisp folds. This will help the Twist and Pop mechanism to work smoothly. NOTE: Adhere two patterned pieces 4" x 5 1/4" to the inside of your card base before attaching the pop out mechanism (house). See my card opened up at the top of page. Lay the 3" x 10" piece flat on top of the attached mechanism, lining up the center fold with the 2 1/8" markings. Fold back the two ends and add adhesive as shown. Carefully close the card and rub over the top to reinforce the folds. Open and close it a few times to ensure it works properly. Add 2 1/4" x 2 3/4" pieces of patterned paper to the 3" x 10" pop out piece. Decorate as desired. Other CTMH supplies used: Oval Thin Cuts Hearts Thin Cuts Bone Folder

I've been wanting an excuse to play with my new Friends & Flowers stamp set and coordinating Festive Flower Builder Punch ever since I made my first project with it--this (Bunny Bookmark) so I jumped at the chance to make my swap cards with it for our demonstrator-only stamp night this month. Hello my dear friends, seriously ~ I am hooked! Hooked on crocheting mini flowers from a pattern I made up this morning and now I just can't seem to want to stop making these tiny blooms. It takes not even 5 minutes to have one done. Right now I have no idea what I am going to use them for but I am sure something will pop into my mind. I first learnt how to crochet when I was 8 or 9 years old in school (yes, in those days we were still taught how to sew, knit, crochet and cook at school, something I think they should bring back, I actually learnt how to sew when I was about 5 years old and my Grandma taught me how to ) and I have always loved to crochet. When I was a teenager I would crochet large doilies or tablecloths and sell them to make a bit of extra pocket money. These days I still like to crochet but nothing too big but I do love making smaller pieces like snowflakes, little hearts or like these little flowers now. Take a look ... ... aren't they just so neat and tiny?! These could be made plain and then you could dye them any color you would like either with food coloring or even Easter egg colors! They could be used to embellish tags or pincushions or anywhere you would like them to be! And you can use them to make these ... ... an old idea with a new twist ... ... instead of using little flowers of paper or book pages you can use these to make your little flowers pins! And because I love to create and I think I am a happier person because of it I would like to share how to make these tiny flowers with you today. I am sharing the instructions two ways ... ...once as a graphic with the crochet symbols and secondly as written instructions as well . How to make a tiny flower ... ... you start off with a magic ring/circle ~ if you don't know how to make a magic circle you can find many videos on 'how to' on the net. There is only one round you need to crochet for this flower ... ... form a magic ring ~ into this ring crochet ... 3 chain stitches, one double crochet, 3 chain stitches, one slip stitch. Repeat this 4 more times ~ making the 5 petals for the flower ~ finishing with a slip stitch. Now just fasten off, tighten the magic ring by pulling the tail of the thread, cut off and you are done with your little flower. I hope my instructions are written so you will be able to make this little flower and now all you have to do is find something you want to embellish with them. I hope you are well and life is treating you kind. Have a peaceful and creative day, Karen B.
Hi friends, sharing a special Fairyland Tunnel book made with gorgeous papers from Graphic 45 and Crealies dies . Fairyland Tunnel Book This tunnel book has 6 layers connected by accordion folds which helps the whole book fold flat and expand out accordion style on pulling! Fairyland Tunnel Book The book rests on a base made using the Crealies arch die and multiple layers of foam . Fairyland Tunnel Book The doorway in each layer keeps narrowing as you go inwards adding to the 3 D effect. One of the really cool features of a tunnel book is that you will be able to see different elements when you look inside from different angles! Fairyland Tunnel Book Now let me take you on a ride into fairyland! On the entrance is a little green fairy beside a mushroom and lovely peach flowers with micro-pearl centres! To keep the design coherent I used Graphic 45 papers to make all the elements including the flowers, mushroom , butterflies and even the grass!! Fairyland Tunnel Book Hovering above the archway is another elegant blue fairy with the most gorgeous shimmering wings! On an aside note: she was so tricky to cut but turned out so beautiful ! Fairyland Tunnel Book Peeping in you get a glimpse of fairyland ,with all the magical creatures- cute bunny families, magical birds, whimsical little mice and the ethereal fairies! Fairyland Tunnel Book Deep inside fairyland you can spot a peach fairy sitting atop magical flowers Fairyland Tunnel Book Behind her is "Momma" rabbit talking to her little ones! Fairyland Tunnel Book And at the very back is a magical trio of fairies having a meeting! Fairyland Tunnel Book When you angle your head as you come back you can see fairies at every level hovering above wonderland playing sweet music! Fairyland Tunnel Book And if you are lucky you may even spot a baby fairy atop a chubby bird! Fairyland Tunnel Book Diligently guarding the entrance is a cute green fairy sitting delicately atop a pretty flower! Fairyland Tunnel Book And bidding you farewell as you leave is the elegant guardian fairy ! Fairyland Tunnel Book I hope you liked the journey through fairyland! And here is the Tutorial Tunnel Book Tutorial Tunnel Book Tutorial Tunnel Books are works of art which are rather easy to make with nesting dies, but in case you don't have a die-cutting machine do checkout this Tutorial which I made in 2011 with no sophisticated supplies whatsoever : Tunnel Book Tutorial Tunnel Book Tutorial I used the Crealies dies to die cut doors with progressively narrowing apertures from thick card-stock and pattern paper . You can actually use any large nesting die set in your stash. The double layering is to give a sturdiness to the layers since they form the framework to add your designs. Tunnel Book Tutorial The most interesting part of tunnel books are the elements you see when you look through the aperture . You can use stickers, stamped images or fussy-cut images from pattern paper and arrange them over your apertures in such a way that the images in the layer in the front don't completely obstruct the images in the layers behind it. Tunnel Book Tutorial As you can see my front most layer is really bare and the apertures get crowded as you go back. I did a lot of fussy cutting from the Graphic 45 Once upon a Springtime papers for this project. I had been hoarding those papers just for the right project ! Tunnel Book Tutorial Use fairly good quality paper to make the accordions . If you have a double sided paper it is especially advantageous as the accordions are visible both from the outside and the inside of the tunnel book. I used Graphic 45 papers from Artisan style to create 2 accordions. For this tunnel book I scored two 12 x 4.5 inch papers every 3/4th inches. I also had to use extra strips to create accordions for the outer layers and the jutting side panels. Tunnel Book Tutorial First glue the accordions to the layer which will go at the very back. Leave one mountain fold and stick the next layer onto the mountain folds[ as shown by pink bone folder] on the accordions on each side Tunnel Book Tutorial Keep sticking the layers leaving one mountain fold in between each layer to allow enough room for your tunnel book to expand. Though it sounds very easy, I urge you to first experiment gluing the accordions with scrap pieces of paper as it is a bit tricky and you can go wrong if you are not careful! Tunnel Book Tutorial Finally have fun adding little finishing touches on the outermost layer and the optional base! Tunnel Book Supplies Papers : Graphic 45 Once upon a Springtime, Graphic 45 Artisan Style Dies : Crealies

Hello and welcome my friends, My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you the first colour for Colour Creations blog hop and it's Week 1 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia. It's been a while since my last Colour Creation and I'm so excited to be back here again. The first colour is Peach Pie which is part of the In Color Collection for 2024 - 2026 Stampin' Up! sure know how to create some beautiful new colors for us to play with and they are here with us for the next two years. Now that's exciting! All of the new In Colors come in a range of Stampin' Up! products such as ink, cardstock, ribbon, designer series paper, embellishments, Stampin' Blends and so on. New colours means new Stampin' Up! products to try out from the new Stampin' Up! 2024 -2025 Annual Catalogue and I'll be showing you the Country Flowers bundle (163411) which is part of the Country Woods Suite Collection and you can find it on pages 48 to 51 in the catalogue. Country Flowers bundle (163411) The Country Flowers bundle includes the Country Flowers stamp set and Country Flowers dies. I've been using this bundle now for a couple of my projects and I love it! The stamp images of bunches of flowers, cute flowerpots and a variety of different sentiments for your card making and paper craft. I stamped the images using Basic Gray ink onto Basic White cardstock and coloured in the images using Stampin' Blends in Peach Pie, Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon. I like to leave white space to create depth when colouring in the images. I also added detailed die-cut images to the background of the coloured in flowers and a couple of fallen leaves to add interest. I wanted to add Peach Pie Glimmer Paper which is from the 2024-26 In Color Glimmer 12" x 12" Specialty Paper (163771) to my card, so I used the scissors die image from the Crafting With You Dies (161225) for some detailed bling! I thought this was lots of fun to my card. To create the sentiment, I actually combined two words together from two different sentiments and stamped them in Basic Gray ink onto Peach Pie paper from the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper (163372). I also used this same Peach Pie paper and layered it under the embossed Basic White cardstock. Then I die-cut out using one of the smaller circular dies from the Spotlight on Nature Dies (163580). To finish off the card I created a cute bow using Peach Pie Bordered Ribbon (163783) by pulling away fine strands from the ribbon and tying it into a delicate bow. Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love to hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below.
