Adhere the three 1” x 4” pieces of DSP to the card front staggering them so the center piece is higher than the other two pieces. Cut three banners from the 2” x 3 ½” piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock. Adhere these to the card front over the 1” x 4” pieces (see photo for placement). Use StazOn ink to stamp the chicken image onto the 3” x 4 ½” piece of Shimmery White cardstock. Cut out using the corresponding die from the Birthday Chick dies. Color the balloon of the image and the chicken’s “hair” and feet with the Magenta Madness Stampin’ Write marker and color the body with the Bumblebee Stampin’ Write Marker. Adhere to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals, being sure to leave room for the “Happy Birthday” sentiment. Cut out the Happy Birthday die from the Birthday Chick dies from the 2 ½” x 1 ½” pieces of Shimmery White and Magenta Madness cardstock. Adhere the Magenta Madness Happy Birthday piece to the Shimmery White Happy Birthday piece slightly offsetting them so a shadow of white shows behind. Adhere this piece to the card front. Finish the card front by adding three sequins from the Whale of a Time sequins. A few years ago, Stampin' Up! released one of the most popular Sale-a-Bration items of all time - a stamp set called 'Hey Chick.' For a limited time, by popular demand, Stampin' Up! have brought back this stamp set. And, this time, there are CUTE coordinating dies! And, together, these are called the 'Hey Chick' bundle, which can be purchased together with a 10% discount. There are some other coordinating items - click here to see them in my online store now. I wanted to make a project featuring this CUTE bundle! Here it is; I started with a Magenta Madness card base. I took a piece of Basic White and using the brand new blending brushes, I blended Misty Moonlight, Magenta Madness and Bumblebee. I wanted to see how they blend when using heavy colours and I LOVE HOW IT TURNED OUT!!! To give the background some texture, I ran it through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. I then trimmed and adhered to card base. I stamped the chick three times and cut out using the coordinating die (LOVE these). I coloured one of them using Misty Moonlight, Magenta Madness and Daffodil Delight and then adhered to card. For the sentiment, I stamped in Versamark and then Heat Embossed using White embossing powder. I then cut out using the die in the collection. SO CUTE!!!! Check out the products used on this project in my online store now. Note: Australian Residents Only Hey Chick Bundle (English) $77.25 Blending Brushes $21.00 Tasteful Textile 3 D Embossing Folder $15.75 And, here is some other projects made using this bundle by Stampin' Up! concept artists! Some Sale-a-bration stamps. These cards were great fun to make...once I got my measurements sorted out. I used mostly pencils to colour in on the aqua card and sponge brayers to colour the background. For the orange card I used mostly markers (when I had the right colours) & Blender pens and ink pads for the rest. Inspiration for this card came from Paperwishes.com on Pinterest Or check out the Weekly Webisodes by Gail Booth Stamp Sets: Sweet Truck & Balloon Celebration Cardstock: Tangerine Tango, Whisper White & Sycamore street dsp Ink: Tangerine Tango, Black Archival, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, Pool Party, Peekaboo Peach, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Delightful Dijon & So Saffron Tools: Balloon Bouquet Punch & Blender Pen Stamp Sets: Sweet Truck & Balloon Celebration Cardstock: Whisper White Bermuda Bay & Irresistibly Yours dsp Ink: Black Archival, Bermuda Bay & Pacific Point Watercolour Pencils: Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point, Real Red, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Basic Gray & Basic Black Tools: Balloon Bouquet Punch & Blender Pen (for softening the pencils) These cards were a lot of fun as well. It was actually around Easter time when I made these cards (yes...that was a while ago) so I thought they could have been good for Easter cards too... with chickens and eggs and all that. I made a mask for the chicken and the egg so I could sponge crumb cake all around them and still have a white chook and eggs. I was going for a hen house look, so the hexagons embossing folder was perfect for chicken wire. Just ink up the hexagon outlines (the side with the logo on it) I used a rubber brayer and smoky slate ink, then press onto cardstock - I did this step after stamping, sponging & colouring, so the ink wouldn't smudge. Sometimes stamp sets are there to have a giggle with and the Everyday Hero is one of them. First there was super frog, then there was Bella the Superdog and now there is chicken licken the silkie superhero. I was asked to have a go at this one by a fellow demonstrator and yes it works. The great thing with the Everyday Hero set is that the bodies being separate will go on any facial image which gives endless possibilities. Have a great day and back tomorrow with my more sensible head on ( ha! ha! excuse the pun)
