I found that there's not many samples of card from the new stamp sets that I purchased. So there's no inspiration or no cards to copy. I had to come up with one on my own. Imagine that? LOLThe base of
Good Evening Everyone Tonight I am taking part in the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop and we have a sketch layout to follow. I can't seem to put down the Happiness Abound Stamp set - so here it is again, this time with a lovely soft and subtle colour combo. Measurements Highland Heather Card Stock 1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8" Basic White Card Stock 1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8" 1pc - 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" 1pc - scrap Mint Macaron Card Stock 1pc - 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" ------------------------------------- Take your Highland Heather card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Add the larger piece of basic white to the centre of the card. Place the Mint Macaron card int he the Painted Texture embossing folder and run it through your Cut & Emboss machine. With a sponge or blending brush add some ink to the panel, this will give extra detail and really give that embossing a boost and bring out the details. Add this to the card front. Ink up the large flower from the Happiness abounds stamp set and make a couple of masks - you can use masking paper but I just used a post it note and made sure I stamp as much of the stamp so that it had some 'stick' to it and fussy cut very close to the outline. Take the remaining piece of basic white, ink up the stamp again and add to one corner, ink up again and add in the opposite corner - once dry colour with Highland Heather Blends. Cover these two flower up with the masks you created earlier, then stamp the flower again twice covering the other two corner - overlapping onto the masks. Remove the masks and once the ink is dry, colour with the flirty flamingo blends. Add this to the card front toward the lower right hand side with dimensionals. Finally stamp the sentiment onto a strip of basic white and trim. Add this to the centre of your floral panel. My share for today is a Happy Birthday Card that I designed using products from Stampin' Up!'s Mini Occasions Catalog and the NEW May 2022-April 2023 Annual Catalog and more. Let's take a look: I'm just a Lovin' the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper. You can really mix & match all the many different Flowers by die cutting and fussy cutting the Flowers!!! Pictured above is the Card that I posted in yesterday's blog post. For today's Card, I used the same Layout as the Card that I designed for yesterday's blog post. So...today I will be sharing Tips on how I designed the Card and used the materials. My Card Base is Coastal Cabana Cardstock. My First Card Front Panel is Basic White Cardstock...... (My Basic White Cardstock Panel is 4" x 5". I trimmed out four of these Panels from one sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" Basic White Cardstock. I saved the leftover Cardstock for making my Banners.) My Second Card Front Panel is the Coastal Cabana/Gingham pattern in Stampin' Up!'s 6" x 6" Brights Collection Designer Series Paper. (I trimmed out my Coastal Cabana/Gingham pattern DSP an 1/8" smaller than my First Card Front Panel. I saved my leftover DSP to embellish the inside of my Card.) TIP: Be careful to make sure that your long Border die is facing the correct way on your DSP when die cutting the edges of your DSP with the Border Dies. One long edge has the Dashes or Dots (whichever one you use) and the other long edge has a straight line that will just die cut off the edge of your. So, you want to make sure you have the Border Die facing the correct way.) Ask me how I know??? 😊😊😊 I stamped my Banner in Bermuda Bay Ink. For the inside of my Card: I stamped my Saying in Bermuda Bay Ink onto a Panel of Basic White Cardstock. I trimmed out a Strip from the leftover DSP and adhered it to the Left side of the Panel. I die cut out a Leaf Stem and a partial Flower and adhered them to the inside of my Card as shown in the picture above. I randomly adhered five Rhinestone Basic Jewels to my Card. I hope you find something that makes you Happy/Laugh/Smile today!!! Make it a FUN day every day!!! Thanks so much again to all my Blog Reader's for visiting my Blog!!! Happy Sunday, friends! Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players! This week, Ann is hosting our Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Tic-Tac-Toe Selection: Embossing - Floral - Pearls Since it’s the fifth week of the month, it’s time for a Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge! I love these challenge because there are SO many choices to inspire your creative mojo. Simply pick a row, across, down or diagonally and create a card with those elements. Easy, peasy! Sometimes I like to challenge myself to do ALL of the squares on one card but that was going to be a pretty lofty feat with this board, haha! I selected my three squares and got busy creating! *I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post. Color Combo: So Saffron Pear Pizzazz Soft Suede Basic White Soooo, I know for last week’s challenge at The Paper Players, my card featured the Happiness Abounds stamp set and coordinating Blossoming Happiness Dies. Well, guess what? They haven’t left my desk since and I literally CAN’T stop using this bundle. So ta-dah, I’m using it again for this week’s challenge! :) I really wanted to use the detailed background die somehow and that was how this card got started. After I cut out the pattern on a layer of Basic White, I also added the “notebook” edge on the left side for an extra detail. I also cut out the flowers and leaves from the Hues Of Happiness Designer Series Paper. I just love that the paper coordinates perfectly with the dies…it doesn’t get any easier than that! I wanted some contrast on the background of the card, so I added some So Saffron ink with a Blending Brush so the color could be seen when the smaller detailed layer was added. Then I added some texture by embossing the layer with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. I felt like the background needed “just a little more” (famous last words, right?) detail, so I flicked some ink “splatters” using a Light Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends marker along with some sparkly splatter with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush. The sparkle is tough to see in the photos but it really looks awesome in person! I like how the splattered detail compliments the center of the larger floral image and really added some extra interest to the background. Card Measurements & Details: So Saffron Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11", scored at 5-1/2” Pear Pizzazz Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4" Basic White Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss with Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder, add So Saffron ink with a Blending Brush and flick “speckles” of Soft Suede Light Stampin’ Blends Marker and Wink of Stella Glitter Brush for background detail Basic White Cardstock: 2-7/8” x 4-1/2”, die cut background image and notebook edge using Blooming Happiness Dies Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper: die cut flowers and leaves from coordinating pattern Basic White Cardstock: 2-1/4” x 1/2, stamp sentiment in Soft Suede ink and snip right side at an angle Linen Thread and Iridescent Basic Pearls Basic White Cardsotck (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp sentiment and floral images in Soft Suede ink and color with Stampin’ Blends Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I stamped a coordinating sentiment along with a couple small floral images. I colored the flowers with So Saffron (dark), Old Olive (light) and Soft Suede (light) Stampin’ blends to bring the colors from the front of the card to the inside. I just love how this card came out and I hope you do as well! I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our fun Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday June 3rd, 2022. I am in love with these whole Hues Of Happiness suite. You get a lovely stamp set called Happiness Abounds with great images for coloring as well as awesome dies called Blossoming Happiness dies plus the designer paper is gorgeous. You can use the dies to cut out images in the designer paper which I have done here. I cut four flowers plus leaves all from the designer paper called Hues Of Happiness and popped them up on a piece of white card stock I cut with the detailed die in the die set. I added this to the piece of DSP and a white base. I love how the colors of the DSP show through. Before adding the white to the rest of the card I did stamp the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink from the Happiness Abounds set. I finished up with a few Gorgeous Grape pastel pearls. I could make this card all day! Hope you have a happy Monday and thanks for stopping by! My card today on my Live uses the Hues of Happiness Suite from Stampin' Up! ® Annual Catalogue to be released on the 3rd May.
The Happiness Abounds has to be one of my favorite new stamp sets in the new Annual Catalog. I am going to have so much fun with this.
Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I have my Stamp Clubs meeting today, it's always too long between meetings, so I am happy to see them and share the new catalog! I have two cards today using the same sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday, and they both use the Hues of Happiness suite! Since I already had it on my desk for yesterday's card, I decided to use it again! So here's the sketch: I used some of the clustered floral DSP for my background and used coordinating cardstock for the bases. Then I diecut some florals, added a white diecut panel and stamped a design on each one, adding a little matching banner and gems! Here's the first one: I used Fresh Freesia cardstock, ink and DSP, using a sentiment from the Happiness Abounds set: This is the second one; it was Dana's Mother's Day card. It used Pool Party cardstock and ink, and the banner is cut from the opposite side of the floral DSP; sentiment is from the retired SAB Special Moments. I can't get over how pretty these papers are! Just gorgeous! Thanks for visiting today! And here's the promised oriole video. I love how he sticks his head all the way down into the orange!! Enjoy your day and be blessed! "And God said, 'Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky'. So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. Here's another of the cards we made in my Hues of Happiness Product Playground series earlier this year. CASE'd from Susan Whitfield Edwards, the unusual background is made by cutting a mask
Today I am sharing a couple of birthday cards featuring the beautiful Happiness Abounds bundle, and Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper. The only stamping on my cards is the sentiments. The flowers and leaves were die-cut from the patterned paper. My first card is almost all pink, with gold accents. In this photo, you can see the beautiful die-cut detail in the top half of the pink watercolour-look paper. I backed it onto some Basic White card, to give a bit of contrast between the paper and the Melon Mambo mat. The little gold leaves I've added to my arrangement were leftover "bits" on my craft table. They were cut from Gold Metallic Paper, using Splendid Stems Dies, and trimmed with paper snips. Gold Metallic Pearls were my embellishment of choice. Here's a better view of the lovely gold-embossed sentiment, on a piece of Basic White card cropped with a Labels Aglow Die: My second card is mainly pink and yellow - such a pretty combination, don't you think? The colours, and details that look like texture, in the Hues of Happiness DSP, are just gorgeous. To my Thick Basic White card base, I added a Thick Basic White layer embossed with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. I matted the DSP to a layer of Daffodil Delight card, then die-cut the leafy lattice detail, so the white background showed through. For this card, I stamped the sentiment in Flirty Flamingo ink on Basic White card, and cut it out using a Stylish Shapes Die. Pastel Pearls, and a White Crinkled Seam Binding bow, finish off the card. Listed below are all the supplies I used to make these cards. I used the Hues of Happiness Bundle to create this pretty Happy Birthday Card. The bundle includes the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set with the coordinating Blossoming Happiness Dies. The cover card apart from the leaf stamps and sentiment is totally made up by combining designer series paper (DSP) and flower images cut from the Hues of Happiness designer series paper. This DSP is simply beautiful and I can tell you it sure makes me smile every time I look at it. The paper is part of the Hues of Happiness Suite (158828). This paper features illustrated and painted flowers on one side and a selection of coordinating all-purpose patterns on the other side. The concept artist(s) who designed Hues of Happiness chose the colours so they'd represent the Stampin' Up! colour spectrum. What wonderful art work. The repeating patterns can be used as focal images, accent pieces or elegant backgrounds and are terrific for card bases and scrapbook pages. The Hues of Happiness DSP coordinates perfectly with the following Stampin' Up! colours: Coastal Cabana Daffodil Delight Flirty Flamingo Fresh Freesia Gorgeous Grape Granny Apple Green Mango Melody Melon Mambo Mossy Meadow Night of Navy and Pool Party. Here are Some Card Ideas I came up with: I haven't purchased the Happiness Abounds Bundle (158824) which includes the Happiness Abounds stamp set and the Blossoming Happiness dies yet as I just wanted to get my hands on the DSP. In particular these two sheets: While I was watching tv I fussy cut all the roses, leaf images and the small flowers that were in the background. Literally there was hardly anything in the scrap pile as everything was cuttable and useable. While I was at it I pre-cut card bases and mats from the coordinating card stock colours and before adhering these mats I die cut stitched circles, squares and rectangles to use on the fronts of my cards from their centers. I also used a variety of embossing folders to add designs to my 3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White mats, and left enough space for a larger type sentiment. Card Bases: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" Mats: 1st mat for card front - 4" x 5 1/4" (1) and cut 1 for the inside Whisper White layer 3 3/4" x 5" for front and one for the inside. The card base for this card is Starry Sky, followed by a layer of silver foil card stock. The embossing was done on the top part of the whisper white mat with the retired Meadow Moments Embossing Folder. I stamped the "thanks" sentiment which is from the Artistically Inked stamp set in Starry Sky ink. The flowers were adhered directly to the white mat with adhesive except for the Fresh Freesia flower which was attached with dimensionals. Here is another version of the thank you card. On this one I've used a Fresh Freesia mat for contrast and used a 3" Starry Skye stitched circle as a base for the floral arrangement. The embossing folder is called Greenery (Retired). embossing folder to For this thank you card I didn't do any embossing in the background, choosing to leave it plain, but I changed up the mat and flower colours and added a double stitched circle mat in Fresh Freesia and Whisper White. The sentiment is from Plentiful Plants (155693). Basic Pearls add a touch of nostalgia to this card. I built a larger bouquet of the Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo floral images and framed them using the Stitched With Whimsy (155314) dies. My final card is a fun fold flap card. I totally loved this as I was able to use a mixture of designs. And because I love this Flap Card so much, I made another one featuring some bolder papers from the Hues of Happiness DSP. Let me know which is your favourite. Well that's it for this post. I look forward to sharing some more cards made with this beautiful designer series paper. Next time around I'll share some Birthday and Thinking of You cards. Hope you enjoyed them, I'd love to hear which are your favourites. HAPPY STAMPING! Welcome to Workshop Wednesday!! I was thrilled to create these projects using the Happiness Abounds and the Cup of Tea Bundles for my weekly live on YouTube. If you missed the live presentation, you can catch the replay below. I created two stunning cards. Both cards are perfect for many occasions, just change the sentiment for whatever you need. The first card uses both the Happiness Abounds and the Cup of Tea Bundles. I love how nicely these two bundles work together. All projects are heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder
