Ползвала съм съвсем обикновено козуначено тесто: 3а 8-9бр.: 330гр брашно 50гр захар 30-40гр меко масло 15-20гр свежа мая 125мл прясно мляко щипка сол жълтък с няколко капки прясно мляко за намазване 3а очичките на птичетата могат да се ползват ядки, чер пипер, стафиди или карамфил. Маята се размива в прясното, леко позатоплено мляко. Брашното се пресява, прави му се кладенче, в него се сипва захарта, щипката сол, мекото масло (със стайна температура, на парчета надробено) и замесва тесто, което се оставя покрито за половин час. После от тестото се късат топчета с тегло около 70гр., разточват на фитилчета и всяко се завързва: на единият край се оформя човка и очички, на другият се правят 4-5 леки разреза и се оформя птича опашка. Намазват се с жълтък, редят се в тава застлана с готварска хартия и пекат на средна скара, 200-220°C до готовност. Охлаждат се върху решетка.
