Join them as well as Gil’s icy expedition to the North Pole! ---- My Thoughts: One channel you will oftentimes find the girls watching at house is Nick Jr. Not only are the animated series entertaining to watch, but they also teach valuable lessons and educate preschoolers on things such as animals, in the case of this recent DVD from the hit show, "Bubble Guppies." The six episodes included on this DVD originally aired during the first three seasons of this show, and introduce children to a variety of animals including elephants, rhinos, squirrels, ducks, dogs and even animals of the Arctic. My girls can't get enough of Mr. Grouper and the cast of Bubble Guppies. With each episode, the kids learn about new things, including places and animals through classroom teaching as well as field trips. The colorful animation and fun story lines keep little ones engaged. And, the catchy theme song will also get your kids up off the couch to dance around to. Santa brought Bella a Bubble Guppies musical guitar which she keeps by the television. Each time the shows starts, she runs over and grabs it to play. I have never seen her get as excited as she does with other shows. Every time the Bubble Guppies theme song plays, Bella has to grab her guitar and jam along. :-) After watching this DVD the first time through with the girls the other day, I asked them if they had a favorite of the six episodes. Bella loves dogs, so I was not surprised that she liked the "Puppy Love" episode. She got into it so much that after watching it, she proceeded to give our little Maltese/Silky Terrier a check-up to make sure she was in good health. :-) Savannah on the other hand loved "The Arctic Life" episode. But, she was quick to add that she would watch all six episodes over again...which she did that night when my husband got home from work. :-) Overall, this is a great DVD to pick up and add to your child's growing Bubble Guppies DVD collection. The episodes really do a great job in introducing little ones to new animals and sharing more about how they life and where they come from. What does Bella think of this recent DVD release? It is #1!!!! :-) So, if you have a Bubble Guppies fan in your house, or your preschooler loves all things animals, then you will want to pick up this DVD, which included 6 full-length episodes of the hit animated series airing daily on Nick Jr., for you and your children to enjoy. We have only had this DVD for a couple of days, but I have lost count on how many times the girls have watched it. And, it doesn't look like they will get tired on this DVD anytime soon. --FREE PRINTABLE COLORING SHEET-- My girls love when I print out fun coloring sheets with their favorite Nick Jr. characters. This is one that they colored this past week, and is now hanging on our refrigerator for all to see. I hope your kids have just as much fun as my girls did coloring this cute Bubble Guppies scene. Enjoy! --GIVEAWAY-- In addition to the screener copy I was sent to review, I also received a second copy to giveaway. Want to win "Bubble Guppies: Animals Everywhere!" for your child(ren)? When I was planning Lincoln's Octonauts birthday party, I knew I wanted some sort of craft for the kids to do. I went back and forth between this idea (a Sea Anemone Pipe Cleaner craft) and a Paper Plate Aquarium, but the anemone ultimately required less prep, so it was the one we chose! My kids love sea creatures, so I thought it would be really fun to make an anemone - I knew they would use it after the party to play with their ocean themed toys! Sea Anemone Pipe Cleaner Craft Supplies Needed: -Pipe Cleaners in whatever colors you choose (about 50-60 per anemone) -Small, Round Plastic Canvas (I used 3") -Scissors 1. Cut all the pipe cleaners in half. You could leave them full length, or you could cut them in various lengths...for the sake of time, I cut mine all the same. 2. Insert each end of one piece of pipe cleaner through one side of the plastic canvas, pull tight, and twist to hold in place. See photos below for further visuals. I 3. Continue in this manner, filling the spaces closely. I found that the overall look of the anemone was fuller and more realistic when I used almost every hole in the canvas versus skipping over them to use fewer pipe cleaners. Below: an example of what the bottom of a canvas looks like when a four-year-old actually makes the craft. It still turns out really cute - just not as full! 4. Continue to fill in the spaces until all have been covered. 5. Arrange as desired and enjoy! Our anemones were a big hit. My kids think they're cool, and they loved the sensory-friendly craft project. Bonus piece of info which can double as a warning: anemones sting and it turns out that pipe cleaners have a stinging effect when exposed as they are in this craft. The kids and I actually think it's more realistic and cool, but some people may not agree with us! I'm dreaming up more unusual sea creature crafts...what should we make next?!
