This pendant was designed for exhibit for the Czechoslovakia Pavilion at the Brussels World Fair in 1958. The shade is in remarkable condition with no scratches, cracks or chips, the pendant hardware is original and displays light wear as is consistent with age. The fixture has three bulbs and has been re-wired. 50x70 cm

The 1958 Brussels World's Fair or "Expo 58" was the first major World Expo held after World War II and hosted over 41 million visitors. The brilliant mid century style design by Richez depicts the fairs logo with a figure inside a globe and reads "Universal Exhibition, Brussels 1958, A World View: A Step Towards New Humanism". This wonderful poster is in mint condition and was printed in 1958 to promote the fair at the time. The Atomium is a monument in Brussels, originally built for Expo, the 1958 Brussels World's Fair. It stands 102 meters tall. It has nine steel spheres connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times.
