Thank you for your purchase! I hope you enjoy this product. Please give me a follow at: Learning Thru Play In TK Your students will have fun playing the popular game Boom! Clap! Snatch! This is a great way to not only have fun as a brain break, but also to reinforce basic skills like practicing rainbow colors, basic shapes, ABC's and numbers. Decide which skills you want to practice. Copy on card stock. Each page has skills cards for three partner groups. Cut on the vertical lines and fold on the horizontal lines. Play as a whole class. Kids pair up with a partner and sit across from each other. Use 2-3 different skills cards and put in the middle of each pair. You may use all of one category or mix them up! Teacher is the caller. Boom: Students hit their thighs with their hands. Clap: Students clap their hands. Snatch: Students "snatch" the card that the teacher called. The student that gets the card on the "snatch" wins that round. After each "snatch", the card is put back in the middle. In this boom deck, students will be reading a run on sentence or a compound sentence and using a period to break it into two sentences. Students will also have to identify the word that needs to be capitalized and deleted. I know I can't be the only first grade teacher whose students have SO much trouble using periods. I plan on using this as a whole group lesson throughout the year to help my students with this skill. To use Boom Cards, you must be connected to the Internet. As a part of our winter unit, Kindergartners learned a song about a snowman. The students really enjoyed using their imaginations and pretending to build their snowmen while we sang the song: Once they learned the song and practiced several times, they were very excited to add the Boomwhackers! Boomwhackers are colorful plastic tubes that are various lengths and pitches. I tell my students that they are called Boomwhackers because they make a "boom-ing" sound and you "whack" them on things. ツ For this activity, we played them on the carpet. The students took turns playing up the scale while we sang and then down the scale when the snowman melts at the end of the song. It was a great visual for them to see that as the notes got higher, the Boomwhackers were shorter. They did such a great job! Here are a few pictures of them with their instruments: It takes a LOT of self-control for Kindergartners to keep all of their Boomwhackers on the floor! ツ They love to play the "Big Reds." Someone knows how to pose! haha. Silly shot! YAY Boomwhackers!
