La contienda, en mi opinión, ha tenido un claro vencedor: el lector. Gracias a la enconada lucha entre los defensores del papel, y los que por el contrario optan por ir dejándolo a un lado para consumir casi exclusivamente contenido digital, ha surgido como de la nada un nuevo tipo de lector: el lector indie. Un buen numero de autores que han apostado por el formato digital, han conseguido publicar, lo que seguramente no habrían logrado de la forma tradicional (pasando previamente por una editorial) y han creado toda una cultural paralela que se sale del circuito comercial y que brida la oportunidad, casi a cualquiera, de sentirse escritor. Así pues gracias a la irrupción del escritor independiente el mapa lector queda configurado de la siguiente manera: Los lectores que siguen leyendo exclusivamente en papel. Los lectores que prácticamente solo leen en digital. Los lectores que leen de ambas formas. Los lectores que buscan precios bajos o gratis y no les importa leer a un autor amateur o indie. Los lectores que leen en cualquier formato y a cualquier autor. Para ejemplificar la batalla de estos últimos años entre libros y e-books he recopilado una serie de viñetas e ilustraciones que estoy seguro os sacaran más de una sonrisa. Porque en el fondo lo que menos importa es el formato que utilicemos para leer, mientras sigamos leyendo.
