¿Cómo hacer un fanzine? Hola amigxs, el mundo de las redes sociales tiene infinidad de imágenes que explican cómo hacer fanzines, ¿no te parece increíble? Hay manuales que indican cómo hacer algo que no tiene reglas (no rules). Así es, porque una de las cosas más emocionantes de los zines, es que no hay normas, la libertad es plena, el límite lo pone el autor, así que..., buscar cómo hacer un fanzine es como esos libros de ¿qué hacer con mi ocio? [respect]. Pero está bien, si aún necesitas un manual para saber cómo hacer un fanzine, este texto puede orientarte para que tu línea editorial se convierta en una línea de autoedición, autogestionada y con autopublicaciones que en un descuido pueden ser autocomplacientes, autonómicas y autóctonas si es posible. Ya no tienes nada qué temer, buena persona autómata. Lo primero que tienes que hacer es pensar en un tema. Quizá esto es lo más complicado, ya sabes, eso de tener qué pensar es una movida muy tocha. Si logras vencer y lo consigues, entonces tendrás el primer paso. ¡Enhorabuena! Lo segundo es decidir si tu idea es buena. Este paso es complicado, porque la mayor parte de las veces, creemos que nuestras ideas son lo mejor del mundo, en plan, oh yeah, esta idea es la puta bomba, ¡lo voy a petar! Pero no siempre es cierto, este paso se llama autocrítica. En este punto, si te das cuenta de que tu idea es un mierda, no temas, vuelve al paso uno; pero de lo contrario, si consideras que tu idea es la idea, entonces sigue adelante. El tercer paso es un poco ambiguo. Puedes desarrollar tu idea hasta niveles academicistas teóricos supraintelectuales o no. Esto es así, por eso lo ambiguo, pero no te preocupes, la decisión final de cómo seguir con este paso está en tus manos, es tu última palabra la que rige, ahí la autoedición, ¿muy rico, verdad? Decidir cómo va a ser el formato es cosa de gusto, para ello el cuarto paso, ya sabes que hay formas de maquetar casi infinitas, desde los folios plegados con grapas, sin ellas, con lomo, cosidos, encolados, imaginarios, invisibles, perpetuos, mágicos, miserables, rotos... Este punto tiene una amplitud interminable. Dependerá del dinero que quieras invertir, o del que tengas. Puedes conseguir dinero y hacer una edición formato dios, para conseguir el dinero hay muchos métodos, los legales también son válidos. Para ser sinceros, este paso no es tan importante aunque muchxs consideren que sí. Puedes volver al paso tres para tenerlo claro. El quinto paso es algo así como la quinta enmienda, rollo simplemente estoy imprimiendo algo... y distribuyendo como derecho de prensa libre... Pero hablemos de la distribución. Es importante que sepas que para cada publicación, si lo que buscas es entrar con ella a la red que distribuye libros y revistas (dependerá de tu país), necesitas pasar por el aro, lo que quiere decir que lo principal que debes hacer, es un pago previo o una solicitud a gobierno para que éstos sepan que estás publicando algo; si te la pela, entonces no hagas caso, pero tienes qué saber que de ser así —que publiques sin registro legal— la distribución al uso, con grandes medios, será obsoleta para tu caso, porque te estarás convirtiendo en un autoeditor. ¡Bienvenido a la autoedición!, pero ojo, porque también debes saber que sin registro no tienes derecho a becas, premios o forma de entrar en librerías comerciales o círculos donde es necesario tener ese código de barras. Si aceptas las condiciones de la auto-ya-sabes-qué, entonces sigue leyendo, de lo contrario, gracias por aguantar hasta este párrafo. Sigamos. La distribución es compleja, no nos engañemos, existen pocas distribuidoras que se encarguen de material autoeditado, más que nada porque los beneficios que deja una autopublicación (¿dinero y fanzines? click aquí), son tan bajos o nulos, que pagar los servicios de una empresa que distribuye, es inviable a vistas económicas, y aceptar dar un porcentaje que se quede un tercero..., no siempre funciona, porque con el resto no llega ni a cubrir los gastos de impresión. Viendo el panorama, la gestión total debe ser del autor, no por otra cosa que la de la panoja, por eso la distribución conviene que también la maneje el autor. Lo ves, autogestión otra vez. Si aún te interesa el tema de la distribución, tendrías un quinto paso biz, en el que la distribución se realizaría —por evidentes razones descritas— de mano en mano. Si bien puedes utilizar las redes sociales (quizá eres un fucking influencer), pero también puedes apostar por los festivales de autoedición que son bastantes y cada vez más en más sitios del mundo. Una buena idea es que revises el mapa de festis y que te hagas una agenda, programando tus tiempos y así puedas mover tus mandangas sin intermediarios. Cabe aclarar que este texto no está enfocado al sistema económico del fanzine y sus medios de producción, pero sí al hecho de que hacer fanzines es viable y es posible incluso llegar a su venta, no hay por qué menospreciar el trabajo y achicarse frente a la gran editorial. También es verdad que este texto no es un manifiesto en contra de la editorial al uso, sino que es una forma de decirte que la autogestión es tu amiga y que existimos varios a los que nos interesa qué es lo que tienes qué decirle al mundo.
