The Jan Scarf is a stunning pattern in Torchon bobbin lace, featuring Roseground, Bias Ground, Cane Ground and Double Triangular Ground. The sample shown was made in Thai Silk 20/2 which produces a gentle drape and subtle sheen, really highlighting the delicate lace stitches. The lace pricking is 7" wide, you will get some shrinkage depending on the thread/wool you use, how tight a lacemaker you are and if you wet finish and block the scarf afterwards. The length is adjustable, the start and end sections measure approx 15" and there is a central repeatable section of 7.5" per section. PATTERN ONLY. This is a PDF Bobbin Lace Pattern digital download. No physical pattern or item will be sent. You will receive: - pattern pages with full size prickings which are the start, a repeatable middle section and the end, - close ups of the ground stitches used (but no working instructions), - a general information page, and - printing instructions. This Torchon bobbin lace pattern is not for the beginner; there are no detailed instructions or working diagrams. The lace maker needs to have existing knowledge of Torchon stitches and techniques and be confident at “reading” a pattern. Names of the stitches used to work the sample are given along with additional notes if there are particularly unusual features. The pattern gives an approx. number of bobbins needed and the name of the thread that was used to make the sample. Where stitches are referred to by name, for example triangular ground, this may be a different version of triangular ground than the one the lace maker is used to working. The Book of Bobbin Lace Stitches by Bridget M Cook and Geraldine Stott is recommended as an excellent reference book. PATTERN ONLY. This is a PDF Bobbin Lace Pattern digital download. No physical pattern or item will be sent. The description and photos form part of the listing. Once payment is made your PDF pattern will be placed into your Etsy account, located at the top right hand corner of your Etsy page. You may sell items that you've made with this pattern giving Christie WN credit for the design. You may not sell or distribute the pattern itself.
