My goal has always been to add character to my bland builders grade home. This corner in my kitchen was next on the list! I decided I wanted to add bead board to this nook to create texture and personality. I also was really drawn to the idea of a shelf with pegs underneath. Here […]

How to make a plot board to organize your story as you write it.
My 3rd grade ELA team has been doing amazing things lately! I've decided in order to post blogs about the great things we are doing--I must make my blogs short but meaningful! :) I am hoping that by doing this, I can blog more often! So here it goes... We are revamping the way we are doing our interventions for our kids (a blog for a different time.) Anyway, we needed some enrichment activities, without the dreaded question every week of..."what do we do now?" So we decided to create a choice board that matched our kids needs! I have linked it below! Choice Boards Our goal for the choice board...is when the students have finished all of their intervention activities (or they did not have any intervention activities because they are just that fabulous...) they will be able to choose something from their choice board. The students will color in a square when they get finished with the acitivity. We are going to have the students try to finish 5 in a row (like BINGO) for a prize. I cannot wait to give these to the students! I think they are going to love it! :) Feel free to download it and use it for yourself and your kids! Also, read some of the squares...they are funny and will be great for the kiddos!

Poniżej znajdziecie zatem większość z nich, zachęcam do wypróbowania przepisów i życzę smacznego :) Pasta z fety i oliwek z dodatkiem oregano 200 g sera typu feta 50 g zielonych oliwek płaska łyżka suszonego oregano łyżka oliwy z oliwek pieprz, sól 1 łyżka gęstej śmietany 2 łyżki jogurtu greckiego Ser feta przekładam do miseczki i rozdrabniam widelcem. Oliwki drobno siekam i dodaję do fety. Dodaję jogurt grecki, śmietanę, oregano, oliwę z oliwek. Doprawiam solą i pieprzem do smaku. *** Kukurydziana pasta kanapkowa 4 jaja ugotowane na twardo 150 g kukurydzy konserwowej 1/2 pęczka koperku 2-3 łyżki majonezu 2 łyżeczki gęstego jogurtu naturalnego 1 łyżeczka musztardy (opcjonalnie) 1 płaska łyżeczka czerwonej słodkiej papryki pieprz, sól do smaku Jaja ugotowane na twardo obieram i kroję na ćwiartki, kukurydzę przepłukuję na durszlaku i dokładnie odsączam, koperek drobno siekam. Wszystkie składniki przekładam do misy blendera i miksuję. *** Pasta z kabanosa i papryki 30 krakersów 150 g kabanosów wieprzowych 1/2 czerwonej papryki 1/2 cebuli 1/2 małego pomidora 2-3 łyżki majonezu pieprz, sól do smaku 1 łyżeczka czerwonej słodkiej papryki natka pietruszki do ozdoby Kabanosy kroję na mniejsze kawałki i przekładam do misy blendera, miksuję ok. 30 sekund, następnie dokładam posiekane drobno warzywa i całość miksuję 1-2 minuty. *** Pasta z pieczonej marchwii i słonecznika 5 marchewek 1/2 szklanki słonecznika 2 łyżki jogurtu naturalnego oliwa z oliwek pieprz sól wafle ryżowe Marchew myję, obieram, skrapiam oliwą z oliwek i zawijam w folię aluminiową. Ostudzoną marchew kroję w słupki i wraz z ziarnem słonecznika przekładam do misy blendera, dodaję jogurt naturalny i miksuję, aż do uzyskania jednolitej pasty. *** Pasta kanapkowa z tuńczykiem 200 g twarogu półtłustego 2 puszki tuńczyka w oleju 1 cebula lub kilka gałązek szczypioru 1 łyżka majonezu 2 łyżeczki jogurtu naturalnego pieprz, sól do smaku Tuńczyka dokładnie odsączam z nadmiaru oleju, przekładam do miski i wraz z twarogiem rozgniatam widelcem. *** Pasta z wędzonej makreli 1 średnia wędzona makrela 2 jaja kilka gałązek szczypioru 2 łyżki majonezu 1 łyżka jogurtu naturalnego szczypta soli 1/4 łyżeczki pieprzu ziołowego Makrelę oczyszczam z ości, przekładam do salaterki i rozdrabniam widelcem. Miąższ skrapiam sokiem z cytryny i rozdrabniam go widelcem lub przekładam do misy blendera. *** Pasta jajeczna z wędzoną makrelą i ogórkiem kiszonym 1 wędzona makrela (ok. 200 g) 3 jaja 3 ogórki kiszone kilka gałązek szczypioru 1-2 łyżki majonezu 1-2 łyżki jogurtu naturalnego świeżo mielony pieprz sól Makrelę oczyszczam z ości, rozdrabniam na mniejsze kawałki i przekładam do miseczki. Do misy blendera przekładam ugotowaną soczewicę, cebulę, dodaję do smaku przyprawy i miksuję całość, aż do uzyskania jednolitej konsystencji. (Gdyby była zbyt gęsta można dodać trochę oliwy z oliwek) *** Pasta z zielonego groszku 2 szklanki zielonego groszku (mrożony lub z puszki) 1-2 ząbki czosnku 2 łyżki majonezu 1 łyżka jogurtu naturalnego szczypta soli świeżo mielony pieprz opcjonalnie inne ulubione przyprawy lub świeże zioła Groszek gotuję do miękkości, następnie odcedzam i pozostawiam do ostygnięcia. Przekładam groszek do misy blendera, dodaję czosnek przeciśnięty przez praskę, przyprawy oraz majonez i jogurt. Całość miksuję na jednolitą pastę, w razie potrzeby doprawiam jeszcze do smaku. Pastę przed podaniem schładzam w lodówce, podaję ze świeżym pieczywem. *** Awanturka (pasta z sardynek i twarogu) 1 puszka sardynek w oleju 250 g twarogu półtłustego kilka gałązek szczypioru świeżo mielony pieprz sól 2 łyżki majonezu 1-2 łyżki gęstego jogurtu naturalnego lub kwaśnej śmietany 12% Sardynki odsączam z zalewy i drobno siekam, następnie wraz z twarogiem przekładam je do głębokiego talerza i rozgniatam widelcem. Dodaję posiekany drobno szczypior, przyprawy do smaku, majonez i jogurt w takiej ilości, aby konsystencja pasty nam odpowiadała. *** Hummus (pasta z ciecierzycy) 1 szklanka suchej ciecierzycy 1/3 szklanki pasty tahini (przepis TUTAJ) ok. 1/2 szklanki zimnej przegotowanej wody sok z 1/2 cytryny 2-3 ząbki czosnku 1/2 łyżeczki kuminu (kmin rzymski) pieprz, sól dodatkowo: kilka łyżek oliwy z oliwek/oleju roślinnego posiekana natka pietruszki czerwona słodka papryka Ciecierzycę moczę przez noc w dużej ilości zimnej wody, następnie płuczę ją, zalewam ponownie dużą ilością zimnej wody i gotuję do miękkości. Zazwyczaj trwa to ok. 60-90 minut. Gotowy hummus przekłam do miseczki, dekoruję dużą ilością oliwy, natką pietruszki i czerwoną słodką papryką. Podaję ze świeżymi warzywami pokrojonymi w słupki, nachosami albo ciemnym pieczywem. Hummus można przełożyć także do słoiczka, skropić solidnie oliwą i przechowywać w lodówce do kilku dni. Let me help you learn how to make a collagraph with scrap matboard. Here are all the basics with video tutorials and process photos!
The pencils are sharpened, your classroom is clean and the bell rings…gulp…here they come! My feelings on the first week of school are conflicted. On one hand, it’s one of the most important weeks. Explaining and practicing the class procedures and expectations sets the tone for the rest of the school year. Success is vital. On the other hand, I’m so excited to start teaching my historical content that waiting until all the expectations are explained requires a lot of patience! Every teacher has their own plan of action for that pivotal time. Here are 5 things I can’t live without during the first week of school: One: An Icebreaker. I aim to try and make kids feel comfortable in my classroom on day one. One of my favorite little activities is Fact or Fiction. Each student receives a small slip of paper and they’re instructed to write one fact and two fictions. Then each person (including myself!) introduces themselves and we all try to guess which statement is the fact! It’s a great way to quickly learn about each other. Two: Classroom Information and Expectations. This is every teacher’s staple, I know, but it had to go on the list because it’s a must-have! When you’re making your own, spell everything out – from the obvious grading procedures and late work policy to how to pass back papers and when to sharpen pencils and go to the bathroom. Trust me, leave no stone unturned. Your classroom will function much better if you set the tone from day one. (Oh, and don’t forget a seating chart!) Three: Fun and Games. On the second day of school, I love to start class with a little game. It’s a great way for the kids to start practicing our classroom procedures and expectations while getting familiar with their teacher and classmates. Here are some of my favorite games that I use during the first week of school: (P.S. Some of these activities can be found in my Back to School Activities resources! Click the grade level you’re teaching to check them out: Sixth, Seventh, Eighth) InstaFriend: This activity gets students moving around the room and interviewing fellow classmates! Their InstaFriend paper has a series of descriptions and characteristics. When they find a student who matches the description, they write their name in the box. Each name can only be used once! Right or Wrong: I love skits. LOVE THEM. I like to introduce students to the idea of skits during the first week by allowing them to create their own based on our class expectations. I first divide students into small groups of 2-3. Each group then randomly receives one of our class procedures or expectations. As a group, they have to work together to create two mini skits – one showing the RIGHT way to follow the expectation, the other showing the WRONG way. They get to be silly and I get to reinforce my class expectations. After each skit I happily point out all the positive behaviors as well as each time a class policy was violated. It’s a light-hearted way to grab their attention and create a positive atmosphere all while practicing the laws of the land. Classmate Bingo: I love to play this game at the end of the first week. I give each student a blank bingo board with a large selection of personal characteristics, hobbies, etc. at the bottom. The students choose 16 off the list and create their customized board. Then, I randomly select characteristics from the list. If a student has that characteristic on their board, they have to write down a student’s name that matches the characteristic – but no cheating! They have to use what they’ve learned about others during their first week of school to try and win the game. Four: A Pre Test. After a few days of class information and fun, it’s time to start getting down to business. Each year, I make a short pre-test on the information they’ll learn about that year. It gives me a chance to see what the kids already know and gives them a feel for what subject matter they’ll be learning about in the coming weeks. FYI: Your pre-test probably won’t take the whole class period. Make sure to have plans for other activities, too, on the day you give your pre-test! Five: A Writing Activity. True fact: when I tell kids they’re going to do a writing activity, they groan every time. It’s a signal that the “real work” is about to begin. Luckily, they’re always relieved when I assure them that this activity will require very little research because it’s about a subject they’re experts in – themselves! I have a few different activities to choose from each year. Here are some suggestions: Student Survey: What are your strengths? Weaknesses? What do you hope to learn in this class? These are just some of the questions I ask students in the survey. The more I know about my students, the better I can help them achieve success in my class. Write Away: A staple of many: write a letter to a future you! I ask students to write goals for the year, dreams they wish to see realized, and questions they want to ask their “End of the Year” self. I tuck these letters away and revisit them during the last week of school. I’m Ready: Like every middle school history class, we do a lot of writing and students always have to back up their reasons, statements, etc. with evidence to support their claim. In this writing activity, students have to identify which class rule or expectation they believe is most important and provide evidence to support their claim. This activity both reinforces my classroom policies and secretly gives me a preview of their writing proficiency. Have I left anything out? If you have any fun plans for the first week of school, share them in the comments. I’m always looking for new ideas for my classroom!

Un tea time excellent ! Bonne gourmandise !!!
