I am so excited to share this post with you!!! My sister and I have been planning my nephews 4th birthday party for a few months now and yesterday we finally got to see what all of our hard work had accomplished. Blocks for the kids to build their own construction creation!!! Build a Bird house station Paint the bird house station Due to a brief thunderstorm we had to move the party inside for a moment But the weather cleared up and we were back in business, here is Blake (aka the birthday boy) pinning the nail on the head!!! My sister came up with this cute sign for the bathroom!!! The food layout These adorable bottle labels (as well as his invitations, cupcake toppers and stickers for the construction hats) were designed by my dear friend Kori and her partner Lindsey's new company Paper and Pigtails (www.paperandpigtails.etsy.com) My sister also came up with this cute idea: treasures were hidden all through out the sand and whatever they found they kept The party gang And all this hard work went in for this adorable 4 year old....Happy Birthday to my nephew Blake

Easy, fun and budget-friendly Superhero Birthday Party Games, perfect for your next Superhero or Avengers Birthday party.
We're gettin' down and dirty with this featured "real party" today submitted by Amy Snyder of Fun Baby Shower Ideas. I can't think of a more fitting party theme for a little guy (or girl) who's obsessed with construction vehicles, loud noises and playing in the dirt. I am LOVING the way she used The Pastry Pedestal™ to display birthday cupcakes in the back of this dumptruck. You'll love the rest of the party details Amy put together for her son's birthday party!! Think chocolate donut truck tires, construction hat decorating station, edible traffic cones, and more... My favorite party details: • The use of toy construction vehicles to creatively display desserts • The construction hat decorating station • The chocolate rocks used to fill the base of the lollipop holder A construction themed birthday party is a tried and true winner! I'd say the adorable birthday boy, Brayden, was really diggin' the turnout of his birthday party! Amy did a fantastic job at tailoring it to Brayden's love of construction vehicles and I would bet it's a birthday party friends and family were thrilled to attend. Thanks for sharing the party with us Amy! Here's Amy's recap on the planning and execution of the party details... Like most little boys, my son LOVES construction vehicles. We have a lot of construction going on in our area and everytime we drive by, he gets soo excited and yells "DIGGERS"! So, when it came time to pick a theme for his second birthday, it was an easy choice. The dessert table was the main focus of the decorations. I pinned a black sheet to the wall for a simple (and cheap) backdrop. Then, we put construction tape across it and added a construction zone sign. I wanted the dessert table to look like a construction zone, so I used a grass mat from Lowe's to cover the table and made a "road" table runner with black felt and thin yellow ribbon for the lines. I also put more construction tape around the edge of the table. I was excited to get to use my new Pastry Pedestals and took your advice and put them in a dump truck. I stuffed the back of a dump truck with floral foam and covered with crushed Oreo cookies for the "dirt". I put yellow, orange and chocolate cupcakes on the pedestals with some of your construction themed paper rounds. I also used a bulldozer as a prop scooping up Oreo truffles. We also had chocolate donuts for "truck tires" and mini cones dipped in orange candy melts for "traffic cones". We used the cones for icecream, and they were just the right size, since all the kids were under 5. I put Reece's Pieces in plastic shot glasses because they matched my color scheme perfect. The street sign lollipops were in a plastic container filled with foam and topped with chocolate rocks. I used the construction paper to cover up the foam. For his birthday cake, I bought a cake from Publix that was covered in cookie crumbs and made a banner with his name that was inspired by the invitation. The cake stand was an empty oatmeal canister wrapped with construction paper and topped with a yellow plate I found at Walmart for a couple dollars. I made food labels and thank you tags that looked like street signs. I attached the thank you tags to black bags and let everyone take home goodies from the dessert table. For activities we set up a table where the kids could decorate their own hard hats. I found some plastic hard hats at Oriental Trading along with stickers and the street sign lollipops. I used blank address labels to put on the front of the hat with each child's name, then we let them go to town with the stickers. We also had a sandbox outside with lots of trucks, cones and toys for them to play with. The kids table outside was also covered in "grass" with another road table runner made with black wrapping paper. We put little construction trucks on the table for them to play with (unfortunately I didn't get any pictures before the "road" was destroyed. I would recommend using the felt for a table runner.)
