You need: drawing sheet A2 size black strips 1,5 cm wide colored construction paper in red, yellow and blue ruler scissors glue black marker This is a teamwork lesson for two students. Draw squares and rectangles of various sizes on the colored paper. Make sure they are straight: start from a right angle and measure carefully. Cut the squares and rectangles and spread them on the white sheet. Make sure same colors do not touch each other and stick them. Continue with the black strips. Decide by yourself how many strips and where you want them, but there are four requirements: the strips must be sticked straight! (use your ruler) black strips must be sticked around all colored area's use the black strips to create white area's (squares and rectangles) don't use to much glue. Let some strips stay loose so you can put a Haring figure behind it Draw three or more Keith Haring characters on the colored paper. Cut them and paste them on the Mondriaan sheet. Be sure there is no yellow character on a yellow area. Outline the characters with a black marker and draw some 'move stripes' around them.
Collagrafie - Materialdruck Thema: Insekten ... wollen die beiden kreativen Köpfe Michaela und Tabea vom Postkunstwerkblog in diesem Frühling von uns sehen, und es haben sich wieder über 200 Teilnehmerinnen angemeldet! Dieses Mal wird es großformatig: Ein mittig gefaltetes A3-Papier ergibt vier A4-Seiten, die mit Collagrafiedrucken gestaltet und letztendlich zu einem großen Buch gebunden werden sollen. 8 Personen pro Gruppe, doch es gibt da ja auch noch die traditionelle Tauschpost... Mir war gleich klar: Das wird sehr zeitaufwändig! Von Collagrafie hatte ich noch nie vorher gehört...das Wort Collage steckt mit drin...und nach ein paar Videos zur Info habe ich gleich losgelegt und spontan eine erste Druckplatte erstellt. Grundplatte: ein stabiler Karton, beklebt mit diversem Material, nach dem ich nicht lang suchen musste. Klebstoff: schnell trocknender Holzleim Ponal-Express Versiegelung durch 2-malige Lackierung, auch des Rückens und der Kanten Und schon konnte das Probedrucken starten auf stets angefeuchtetem Papier! Ein Klemmbrett erwies sich als sehr hilfreich, nichts konnte verrutschen und ich konnte immer mal schauen, ob überall auch Farbe abgedruckt war und wenn nötig, das Blatt nochmal senken, um noch einmal darüber zu reiben. Nach Testdrucken auf ganz unterschiedlichen Papieren, habe ich mich dann entschieden, dünnes Reispapier zu verwenden. Mir gefielen die Beulen im Normalpapier einfach nicht, durch Höhenunterschiede der Collagematerialien aber unvermeidlich. Erst danach habe ich noch mehrere kleine Druckstöcke geklebt, um noch mehr Materialien in ihrer Wirkung im Druck zu testen, wie Buchstabennudeln, Filzbuchstaben, Spitze, Obstnetze oder auch Fliesenkreuze. Dieser imposante Geselle sieht noch so lebendig aus, ist er aber leider nicht mehr! Ute hat ihn mir geschenkt im letzten Sommer, er lag schon leblos vor ihrer Haustür. Der Hirschkäfer ist der größte unserer einheimischen Käfer, und er sollte auch im Mittelpunkt meiner Insekten-Frühlingspost stehen. Meine Hirschkäfer-Collage in Arbeit, kurz vorm Aufkleben Zutaten: Rupfen, Webstoff, Schnur, Wellpappe, Strukturtapete, Pappe, Knöpfe und feines Knoblauchnetz für die Flügel Dieses Mal habe ich darauf geachtet, dass die Materialhöhen in etwa gleich waren. Die Druckfarbe, eine Mischung aus Acryl-und Linolfarbe + Retarder, habe ich vor jedem Druck mit dem Pinsel auf alle erhabenen Teile aufgetragen, dann 3 Lagen Papier ins Klemmbrett gespannt: Reispapier, Seidenpapier, Kopierpapier - darüber ein Tuch und dann die Farbe mit den flachen Fingern regelrecht aufgestreichelt. Nächster Schritt: Hintergrundgestaltung der ersten Seite mit Acrylfarbe und Schablone Mit einem selbst gemischten Buchbinderleim (Bastelkleber + Kleister im Verhältnis 1:1) ließen sich meine (gerissenen) Drucke schön glatt aufbringen. Tada! Seite 1 ist geschafft! Natürlich durfte der wissenschaftliche Name nicht fehlen, gestempelt. Fig. und das Männlich-Zeichen hatte ich noch geschnitzt... Auf der Blattrückseite krabbeln ein paar Stempelabdrücke meines, vor 2 Jahren im Rahmen einer Insta-Challenge 'Inksektober' geschnitzten Hirschkäfers, dazu noch ein paar Infos zu diesem Krabbeltier und einem echten Eichenblattabdruck. Die Hintergründe für Seite 3 liegen bereit, gestaltet wieder mit gespachtelten Acrylfarben, Zahlen und Schrift sind Stempelabdrücke Wenn auch schnell 'zusammen gehauen', so schlecht fand ich meinen Prototypen dann gar nicht, und so er durfte auch mit in meinen Postkunstbeitrag. Auf der Rückseite Bockkäfer-Gekrabbele, darunter auch wieder ein Selbstgeschnitzter... Alle vier Seiten, außen und innen Kartengrüße an alle mit der schielenden Gottesanbeterin... Käferschablonierte und passend frankierte Umschläge rundeten dann meine Frühlingspost ab und machte sich als Nr. 3 meiner Gruppe 9 auf den Weg, inklusive der vorab verabredeten Tauschpöste. Es kamen noch so nette Tauschanfragen bei mir an, doch hatte ich keine Kraft und Material mehr für weitere Doppelseiten, aber ein paar große Postkarten hab ich dann doch noch verschickt, gearbeitet aus Restpapieren und Seidenpapierdurchschlägen. Zum Schluss noch ein Blick auf die beiden Hauptakteure, die Käfer-Druckplatten nach getaner Arbeit. So schöne Krabbler und Flügler sind auch schon bei mir gelandet, die ich auf jeden Fall noch vorstellen werde, vielleicht auch erst, wenn das Insektenbuch schon gebunden ist. Earlier last week, fellow Rockin' Arts Mom Kristen from Art History Mom shared a really neat way to introduce young children to the artwork of Henri Matisse. I was so intrigued by her post that I did a shortened version of her lesson with my 2 1/2 year old son. Wow. I was so pleasantly surprised at how Chuck responded. He loved looking at the artwork, counting the figures, and finding different colors and shapes. Since Matisse's collages are so colorful and graphic looking, we then tried making our own Matisse inspired artwork at home. Kids Make Matisse Inspired Collages (This post contains affiliate links. Thank you for your support.) Aren't they beautiful? Now little did I know, Kristen (from Art History Mom) also had a similar idea in mind. She ended up making these lovely Playdough and Construction Paper Collages with her son. I think that using play dough to make collages is such a cool idea, so definitely check out her activity too! Materials Needed to Make Matisse Inspired Collages Construction Paper Scissors (Adult and Kid-friendly scissors) Glue (Glue Sticks and Elmer's Glue) Let's Make Matisse Inspired Collages! 1. I first did Art History Mom's Henri Matisse Lesson with Chuck. Then, we looked at some of Matisse's other collages online. (Note: If you're a book lover, you could also read one of these Matisse books for Kids.) 2. Then, I explained that we were going to make our own collages just like Matisse. So, we pulled out some construction paper and cut out shapes. I cut out the more complicated ones to resemble some of the shapes found in Matisse's artwork. 3. Then we glued our shapes on. (Chuck said this collage was supposed to be a bumble bee. Can you see the resemblance?) Once our artwork dried, we had some lovely Matisse-inspired artwork of our own. I enjoyed this activity because we got to talk about art, math (counting, shapes, and spatial relations), and colors. Chuck seemed to enjoy the activity because he got to use scissors (which always ups the coolness factor of any project) and glue (which he enjoyed wiping everywhere.) Let me know if you try this activity out with your kids! I think they'll have fun (and learn some things too.) (Side note: I learned about Matisse's personal history too... it was super inspiring.)
