Hello everyone! Its a fun Saturday surprise from Papertrey Ink and my line, Sincerely Yours! As part of the Summer Perks Promotion, I have 2 new products being released this morning! Color Block Stencils and Bold Basics Stamp Set are two products that have been in my head for so long, and to see them come to life is amazing! I cannot wait to see what you create! Check out the video below to get a better look at Color Block Stencils and Bold Basics Stamp set. I have a few tips and tricks to share, but those peeks are just the beginning of the possibilities! The idea behind Color Blocks is color blocking. You know, that bright, fun look from the 80's. But with the right color combinations, this look can create some incredibly elegant cards that have the look of high-end stationery. For this first card, I inked through the stencils with a pale pink ink. Then added a stamped image through the stencil. This looks complicated, but its not. The Color Block stencils are designed to lay perfectly over the top of an A2 piece of cardstock. Place your cardstock down, layer the stencil over the top, and ink through with your favorite colors. Supplies Hello Friend Card: While the first card had lots of embellishments, this bright Happy Birthday card was made purely with Color Blocks and Bold Basics. I can see sending this to teen or college-aged girls. Its so fun! To make this background, I combined two of the Color Block stencils. Inking them each separately. The elements in all the stencils can be mixed and matched to create some fun backgrounds. The striped image from Bold Basics was stamped and heat embossed in white powder. The sentiment is also from Bold Basics and looks full of energy stamped on the slant of the background. I found my MISTI to be very helpful when lining up the sentiment this way. Supplies Happy Birthday Pink Card: Don't tell the other cards, but this one might be my favorite! I found an ad on Pinterest the other night that had this layout. I grabbed my supplies and created this awesome card. Perfect for any boys or men in your life. It would be really great in their favorite sports teams' colors! Don't forget about the envelopes when making cards. Color Blocks makes it easy to add pizazz to your envelopes too! Supplies Happy Birthday Blue Card: This card highlights another fun feature of Color Blocks, the ability to flip, turn, reverse, or whatever with your stencils! I began by placing my stencil down and applying the green ink. I flipped it over and inked through with pink and black. How cool is that? The part I love the most is the mix of the ink colors where the images intersect. For a bit of shine, I added a line of gold gilding. It was created easily with Scor Tape. I applied two strips of the tape along the green edges, removed the backing, and applied gilding flakes over the top. I burnished the flakes into the adhesive with a small brush and a circular motion. Easy peasy and so elegant! Supplies Thinking of You Card: Flat, mail-able, and classy. Could there be anything better in a card? This card started with the diamond image in Bold Basics being stamped on the card. (Notice how the sentiment fits inside? All the sentiments in the set fit inside!) Using only the very tip of one of the triangles in Bold Basics, I lined up the edge of the stencil with the outline of the diamond image and inked. Eeee! So many possiblities! Supplies Thank You Diamonds Card: More stamps and sentiments, all combining to make a truly lovely card. I am fairly certain that you cannot go wrong with any way you put Bold Basics and Color Blocks together! Both products are basic building blocks that have impact on their own, but look at what happens when you add in other elements? The card went from wow to WOWEE! Supplies You Are The Best Card: If you are still here, this card is for you. Thank you. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart! I know that you will love making cards with these new and innovative products! And I cannot wait to see how creative you get. Be sure and tag me, or email me, or whatever when you make a card. It would mean the world! Thank you for being so supportive as I have embarked on this new journey. Its hard to believe, but its been one year since I started designing products. What a challenge! What a thrill! I have learned so much and continue to learn every day. Thank you for being my cheerleaders. Thank you to the team at Papertrey who constantly help and answer questions and provide amazing insight. I am one lucky lady. Have fun shopping and have fun creating! Supplies Thank You Flower Card: Sincerely Yours, P.S. As this posts, I am in Minnesota in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area on vacation with my family. I will pop in on social media, as I can find wi-fi. When I get back, I am planning on sharing video tutorials with you with more about these fun new products. Happy 4th of July everyone! :D

Hello there, today I have a card to share that I made for my nephew for his birthday. He absolutely loves Lego so it made sense for me to try and make him a Lego themed card. I started cutting some squares and rectangles from Doodlebug cardstock (sadly this seems to have been discontinued now). I also then die cut multiple circles using one of the smaller dies from the Hero Arts Circle Nesting die set. I added Distress Ink around the edges of the shapes and then glued them together to look like Lego blocks. These were added to a 5.5"x5.5" card base. I then took the six from the PTI By The Numbers die set and cut this three times from white cardstock and layered them up. I also die cut a star from vellum using a Nestabilities die. I added the six on to the star and then added the piece to the card base. To finish off, I added a few Doodlebug Matte Sprinkles. SUPPLIES: Here are the links to what I have used on the card. Please click on the picture or wording to be taken to where I purchased it. Affiliate links are used on some products. This means that if you make a purchase after clicking on my link, I receive a small commission with no extra cost to you. I truly appreciate your support when using these links. Welcome to Transformation Tuesday! We all have cards that don’t necessarily turn out the way we had envisioned or a project that we designed to be feminine that could be made masculine with a few tweaks. Some of you may remember the Recipe Remix Challenge from SAF 2013. It’s sort of like that (bu
I've been thinking a lot lately about my favorite design tricks, and my conclusion from all this thinking is that using shapes (squares, rectangles, or circles) as key design elements makes me very happy. You can arrange them in tidy grids or rows, you can get whimsically asymmetrical with them, you can pop or not pop them, or you can use one all by its lonesome for big impact. So, when I decided I needed some birthday cards, I pulled out SU's Stem Silhouettes and Garden Silhouettes and played around with putting the images on shapes.. These two cards are what happened. *squeal* Same thing, different colors: The rectangles are 2 1/8" x 1 1/2" and are, of course, popped up on dimensionals. I stamped each image in a light color first, then overstamped (but off-set) again with a darker shade of the same color. Really, you could just use a dark ink, stamp once, huff on the stamp, then stamp it again. But I had the ink colors so I used them. I stamped the sentiment justified right in gray because black looked wayyyyy too stark and dark. All inks are Memento. I thoroughly enjoy experimenting and playing around and trying out new things, new products, new styles. But this crisp, clean, colorfully white look is more me than any other. Up tomorrow, a Christmas card with circles...oh how I love my punches! Supplies stamps: SU Stem Silhouettes, Garden Silhouettes, PTI Birthday Basics ink: Memento paper: PTI white accessories: dimensionals

It's the final day of the countdown which means the June release will be available tomorrow in the PTI shop at 10 pm ET. I have two very summery cards to share today. This may be quite obvious, but I'm completely obsessed with the new Beach Bag die set. The beach bag works so well with all the new summer products in this release as you will see on my cards. This first card features a fun background created with the new Pleasing Pineapple Hot Foil Plate. I used gold foil on white card stock and then ink blended over it with light pink. The foil resists the ink making it easy to colorize the background in any color you want. The bag, flip flops, and sunglasses are from the Go-To Beach Bag Gift Card Holder die set. The sentiment I used is included in the Inside Greetings: Days of Summer stamp set. The two palm trees I had left over from my Tuck It: Travel card I made for day one of the countdown. I made extra and they were just sitting on my desk. Thought they were too cute not to use so I added those on. This next card features lots of fun stamped images from the new Pack Your Suitcase set. This stamp set does include a suitcase to hold all these travel necessities but I thought they also work perfectly in the Beach Bag. I'm loving this pink, yellow, and aqua palette for summer. These are some of my favorite PTI card stock and ink colors: Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, and Hawaiian Shores. For creating the stripes on the beach bag, I simply glued down skinny strips of the three colors onto a large panel of white card stock. Then I die cut the beach bag. You could add more stripes or stamp a pattern onto the bag too. So many possibilities!
Welcome to day 1 of the Papertrey Ink July release countdown. Today I have a project to share using the new Corner Adorner: July stamp set and one using the new Fence Line: Summer and Never Enough: Thanks stamp sets....
Good morning! Welcome to Day 4 of the Papertrey Ink September countdown! I have SO much to show you today...whew! I told you I was marathon crafting over here and I wasn't kidding. ;-) I'm really excited about today's product...
Today is release day, in which the Papertrey Ink team posts all of their creations with the new products that are up for sale today (the 15th of each month)! Let's get started! The first card is made with the new Flipping Out stamp set and little Flipping Out die! Are these not "flippin" adorable! You can die cut the flip flops and add little flowers and hearts to embellish them. Oh, so cute. On the close-up, you can see I added some dimension to the tops of the flip flops by popping them up with dimensional adhesive. I used a border die as the "sand" and stuck the flip flops in the sand! This one is a quickly stamped card. These would both be great for a teacher to wish them a happy summer vacation! I stamped the flip flops as if they were walking. The "happy summer" is stamped with Classic Kraft ink, and I thought Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz and Harvest Gold were summery colors to go with the theme! Flip Flop cards: STAMPS: Flipping Out INK: Harvest Gold, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, True Black, Classic Kraft PAPER: Raspberry Fizz cardstock, Aqua Mist cardstock, white, Hawaiian Shores cardstock, Aqua Mist patterned paper, Summer Sunrise patterned paper DIES: Flipping Out, Edgers #4 (scallop) OTHER: Embroidery Floss, pearls. ---------------- Next, I used the Chevron Die and Think Big Favorites # 16 stamps. There are two different ways I came up with to use the chevrons! 1. You can cut the large one from cardstock and layer it with the smaller chevron cut from patterned paper for a neat look like this: 2. You can also off-set the top chevron layer just slightly (the smaller one) like I did here to create an argyle look! Many fun things to be made with the chevron dies! I can't wait to play more with these. Really addicted to chevron these days. Chevron cards: STAMPS: Think Big Favorites #16 INK: Dark Chocolate PAPER: white, Canyon Clay, Aqua Mist and Kraft cardstock, Summer Sunrise patterned paper, Classic Kraft patterned paper, Aqua Mist patterned paper DIES: Chevron Stripe Borders OTHER: pearls, corner rounder. ---------------- This card uses the new Fillable Frames Sentiments. I went crazy with stars here and stitched them down with my machine. The patterned papers I used here are Aqua Mist, new Fine Linen and new Summer Sunrise patterned paper. Celebrate Good Times card: STAMPS: Fillable Frames Sentiments INK: Dark Chocolate PAPER: Aqua Mist, Summer Sunrise, Fine Linen patterned papers, Classic Kraft cardstock, Aqua Mist cardstock DIES: none OTHER: Fiskars star punch ---------------- This card is made with the Framed Out #4 stamp set. I cut two of the frames with the Framed Out #4 die from the Autumn Abundance patterned paper and stamped some of the frames with Simply Chartreuse ink. With Gratitude card: STAMPS: Framed Out #4 INK: True Black, Melon Berry, Simply Chartreuse PAPER: Autumn Abundance Patterned Paper, Fine Linen Patterned Paper (tan heart and stripe background), white cardstock DIES: Framed Out #4 OTHER: Snow Day die cuts (orange heart) by Pink Paislee, pearls, seam binding. ---------------- This card is made with the new Happy Hydrangeas stamp set and dies. I cut out the hydrangea and saved the negative cut out (white cardstock piece), then stamped the die cut piece with new Winter Wisteria ink and Simply Chartreuse for the stem. I layered the die cut over the negative and popped it up with dimensional adhesive! Love this look! For a soft background, I chose the Background Basics: Medallion circles and stamped them with new Soft Stone ink. The gray and purples are really pretty together. Happy Mother's Day card: STAMPS: Happy Hydrangeas INK: Winter Wisteria, Soft Stone, True Black, Simply Chartreuse PAPER: Winter Wisteria, white cardstock DIES: Happy Hydrangeas die, Simple Circles die (top border) OTHER: pearl. ---------------- Last a fun card with the Heart-2-Heart #4 stamp set. I die cut the phone with the Heart-2-Heart #4 die and used the sentiments and heart from the set also. I wanted to try a tone-on-tone look. (No pun intended!) I made a little cord from twine and added the hearts to kind of gave the look of the phone ringing! Hello Sweet Friend card: STAMPS: Heart-2-Heart #4 INK: Aqua Mist, Simply Chartreuse, Harvest Gold, True Black PAPER: Aqua Mist Patterned paper, Aqua Mist cardstock, Harvest Gold cardstock DIES: Heart-2-Heart #4, Limitless Layers 3.5" Oval OTHER: pearl, twine. ---------------- All of these fun products are available today at Papertrey Ink on the main web page. Welcome to the first group post for the April Papertrey Ink Release. Today, we are showcasing several fun new products. I have matched several things up to make a fun little birthday gift. Here is a quick shot of the birthday ensemble.... Starting off, this is the new Favor it: Fry Box... My sweet friend, Audra, who makes the most amazing sugar cookies, made these adorable "french fry" cookies for me. They fit perfectly in the fry box. I added some stripes with the new set called Boxed Background Stripes and then a tag on the front, with the new set called Treat Box Tag Lines and the coordinating die. I made a mini card to coordinate with this gift, using the adorable new hamburger set called King of the Grill. It comes with several sentiments and all those fun condiments to stack up jus like you like it! The "french fry" cookies wouldn't be the same without some "ketchup and mustard".....frosting! The Snack Cup Holder dies, hold 2 cups and are such a fun addition. This cup holder could be used for so many things, the possibilities are endless. I finished the cup holder off with a Keep it Simple tag die and a sentiment from the new set called Keep it Simple: Just for you. I love how all of these new products go so well together. I added everything to a red basket I found in the target dollar bin with a little tissue paper to finish it off..... I hope you have enjoyed today's projects. Please stop over to Nichole's blog to see the rest of the DT and their creations. Thanks for stopping in and come back tomorrow for Da7 2 of group posts!
This is my entry for the May Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. This is a monthly challenge. This month's challenge was to use the inspiration photo to design a card. The inspiration photo for this challenge: photo credit: Jones Design Company And here is my card inspired by this photo: All supplies are from Papertrey Ink. I used the Mighty Bloom Cover Plate which I cut out of PTI Stamper's Select White card stock. I used a blending tool to ink up each leaf in PTI inks in a rainbow of colors. I used the cover plate to position the leaves, and then removed the color plate. I used a sentiment from Keep It Simple: Birthday. Such a fun and cheery card!
Hello guys! I hope you've enjoyed this months Papertrey Ink release. I have a bunch more release cards to share with you today. So let me get started... First up, Grunge Me by Tiffany Pastor. This set is a ton of fun and right off the bat I knew it would work perfectly with my set Modern Basics. Boy was I right, I love the end result. I started by stamping the large Modern Basics border image in Summer Sunrise. Then layered a few Grunge Me images in Enchanted Evening and Raspberry Fizz and a sentiment in True Black. I can't wait to pair these two together again. Next, Tag-its #3 by Heather Nichols. So far this is my favorite of the Tag-it series, although I think I say this every time. I love the style of this card! It's a bit out of the normal for me, but it makes me happy. I love how easy it is to turn the tiny flower bunch into a flowery row, by simply stamping the image over and over again. What do you think of the butterfly?! I attached five Love Lives Here butterflies together, in the center, and the spread the wings apart with dimensional adhesive. Gives the card a ton of dimension! How about some My Hero, My Dad, another set by Tiffany Pastor. This set includes a ton of sentiments perfect for guy cards but it also includes a few very versatile images. I was able to create this awesome pattern with a few of those images. I love sets like these, that give you unlimited pattern building options. Next up, Flower Fusion #3 by Melissa Bickford. I've been waiting for for this third set! I've been anxious to recreate this (third card down in blog post) card idea, using all of the coordinating Flower Fusion flower stems together. I used the same basic technique as before. Although, this time around I stamped the stems across the entire length of the card. Stamped and attached a vellum sentiment strip with some hidden dimensional adhesive and embellished with a few die cut Flower Fusion flowers. Also, Train Tracks by Beth Silaika. This train is so stinking cute!!! Cutest train I've seen yet. I created a hand stamped pattern using the different train parts stamped in Pure Poppy, Ripe Avocado, Summer Sunrise and Stormy Sky Distress Ink. And this little guy makes me smile, because he was so easy to make and he's adorable. Die cut from kraft cardstock and then touched him up with a few matching Copic markers. Last, but not least! Ad Sense and Boy Basics: Simple Circles both by Lisa Johnson. Check out this label, love the shape! Stamped it using a few of the images and sentiments from Ad Sense. And this border die is soooooo versatile, it can go from this (with a few buttons) to this (pictured above) using the coordinating Boy Basics: Simple Circles set and a few other images from Ad Sense. So there you have it! All supplies used are listed in the Papertrey Ink gallery. I hope you've enjoyed the goodies from yet another fabulous release! I'd love to hear what you all are looking forward to receiving the most from this months release! Can't wait to see what you create! Maile
I loved the inspiration colors in the color throw down challenge # 349 : It made me think of my latest die cut purchase (Quickutz Swirls), so I created turquoise waves with it. The sand and the word banner are die cuts from Papertrey Ink, and the surf board is a rubber stamp that I stamped on painted paper, cut out and slipped in the sand. I'm also entering in: Ruby's Rainbow #107 at the seaside. Crafting for all seasons #105 Cute and Summery.

Zonkers! Bam! Zap! Welcome to the first Group Post Day of the Papertrey Ink January 2015 countdown. Geez oh pete's, do we have some super fun stuff for you today with Secret Agent and Zappy Birthday. I've been needing sets like these in my stash. Great for kids, both boys and girls. And masculine cards for the grown ups too. One of the super neat features of Secret Agent is the "secret message" technique you can create with colored transparencies. Here, I filled my stamped and die cut magnifying glass with red transparency. Both the outer frame and "glass" are different dies that work perfectly together for easy assembly. I also used the greenish blue transparency below to cover up all my stamps and seals. This has the same tone and texture as the red glass of the magnifying glass. The "top secret" seal helps hide my adhesive here. I attached my magnifying glass to my project with a red brad. This allows it to pivot on my card.... .... so the recipient (my nephew in this case), can move it to line up with the Soft Stone "shadowed" magnifying glass to red the secret message. The message was stamped in Hawaiian Shores and covered up with the distortion stamp in Pure Poppy. How crazy cool is that?!?!? ADORE this. And my kids can't stop playing with it. The fun continues to the inside of the card. I have our Secret Agent man giving up some of his secrets. I love the "this message will self destruct" sentiment. Fabulous illustrating on Nichole's part here. I flipped when I saw this guy for the first time. Moving on, we have another great set of products by Lexi with the Zappy Birthday Collection. There's a new cover plate that gives your backgrounds a comic book look (so versatile...comic books are just the beginning here) and great paper to go with them. I created by background with the Comic Book Cover Plate and used all the papers. Next, I created a "seal" like all super heroes have on their outfits, but I used a number for a birthday instead. I added the action bubbles from the Zappy Birthday set and die cut the action words with foil paper to give it that super-duper comic look. I was really struggling with adding my "happy" and "birthday" to my project. It's pretty busy already, so I didn't want to add another color or strong element, but I didn't want those words to get lost either. A drop shadow seemed like the perfect solution. I die cut the words twice, once in True Black, the other in Pure Poppy and one on top of the other. The tone on tone of the Pure Poppy on the patterned paper keeps things subtle, and the slight shading of True Black helps it stand out just enough. Mission accomplished! Are you excited as I am about these two sets? FABULOUS stuff. Can't wait to see what everybody else does with them. Everything will be available on the 15th at 10 PM EST in the store. Just a few more days! I promised I would be back tonight to link this card to the "make a birthday card for Papertrey Ink and post a photo of you with it" challenge. Since I once again went to the color & sketch challenge from earlier in the week, I am also linking the card up to that post. This is my favorite of all the cards I've made for the Papertrey Ink Anniversary challenge - it is so striking in real life. The Quilled Elegance stamp set jumped immediately to my mind when I saw the sketch and I knew it would be fun to color with Copics. Somehow my pink is reading red in these photos, but trust me it is very pink in real life. I cut the panel and recessed the birthday sentiment. All the stamped and colored areas are brushed with clear Wink of Stella which gives an amazing finish to the card. My kids are laughing at my selfies and telling me I need more practice - I won't tell you how many tries it took to get a sort-of-in-focus photo of me & the card and I wish one of them had been around this afternoon to help me out. I can't be bothered to take another photo with the Olympics calling my name. We have become fans of Slopestyle Snowboarding this weekend, always love the Figure Skating and are looking forward to Curling - what about you? Thanks for stopping by, Jacquie

PLAY HERE Happy Birthday Fusion! What an honor it was getting an email from Jeanne asking me to be her guest for the Fusion second year celebration! Jeanne has been a dear friend for a long time and I cannot tell you how many times I have gone to her for help with so many things. Even though she has so much on her plate with all that she does, Jeanne still has time to give me the best directions that I can understand. I have learned so much from her! Now if I could only figure out to make a layered card as well as Jeanne does :) I rolled darker ink over the lighter ink to give it a bit more dimension. The top white layer is a die and the middle yellow layer is just placed on the card then I cut the top and right side edges, careful not to cut the fold. The word die is layered three times. Let me introduce you to the Black & White All Over paper collection and Super Swoosh die collection! Check it out... Black & White All Over paper collection... These sheet are sized perfectly to fit your card fronts. Add your own pops of color to these black and white basics using stamps, paints, markers, pencils or whatever else you wish! You will be able to get a completely different look each time you use these! Or use them as is like I've done here. They look great that way too! Super Swoosh die collection... After releasing the original Swoosh collection in February, I knew I needed to create a super sized version of the dies. The extra long length will allow you to add them to horizontal cards or even at an angle. They also happen to be perfect for adding a pop of color to these Black & White All Over papers. Here's a simple sentiment page from the Black & White All Over paper collection. I dressed it up with a bit of soft stone ink (using the smooshing technique) and a few Bigger Blooms images. These Black & White All Over pages make for super simple card making! Again, these Black & White All Over papers look pretty amazing all on their own. Plus, they pair together perfectly. These are 2 of the 9 designs included in this paper collection. I've added a pop of shimmer by die cutting this "birthday" Super Swoosh die from luxe gold cardstock. Just fabulous!!! Well, that concludes today's look at the Black & White All Over paper and Super Swoosh die collections. Good morning and welcome to Day 4 of the January Papertrey Ink countdown. Today we're featuring a couple of sets with latin flair. I love the bold and graphic look of the stamps we're introducing this morning. They encourage the use of such bright and cheerful colors and who doesn't love that?! This time of year, that flash of vivid color can go a long way to add happiness to a gray day (and we've had plenty of those lately). Let's get on to the details! My first card just uses Nichole's new Latin Motifs set. These images have a folk-art style that you're going to love! I began by stamping the sun onto a panel of white cardstock. I trimmed away part of that panel to give a peek at the card base underneath. I stamped the sentiment and then adhered that layer to an Aqua Mist card base that I'd stamped with a line pattern from the set. I used Tropical Teal ink to give a nice, bold contrast. Next, I stamped the bird onto scrap cardstock using Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy inks. I trimmed around it and played with the wings a little until they had a slight curve. I attached the bird to the card front with foam tape, using two layers under the wings to give that curve some support. Aren't those colors perfect for encouraging someone who needs it? Next up, I've paired the flowers from Latin Motifs with the leaves in my Palm Prints set. I began by sponging and speckling a white card base with Aqua Mist ink. Then, I stamped the card base with a few leaves and added in some die cuts for a bit of variety. I used both flat and foam adhesives to give plenty of dimension. Then I stamped and trimmed out the flowers. I wanted a nice pop of color, so I went with bright oranges. I tucked the flowers in around the leaves and then topped everything off with a simple sentiment strip. I'm really loving that orange! That's all for me, friends. Thank you so much for stopping by today! Make sure to check in with Nichole, Amy, Ashley, Betsy, Dawn, Heather, Kay, Laurie S., Laurie W., Melissa, and Maile to see more inspiration. Have a great day and I'll see you again soon!
