Mijn eerste drieluik kaart! En het eerste kaartje met een foto van de baby erop (de foto werd niet door mij gemaakt). Het heeft een heel leuk effect wanneer je het kaartje neerzet. De twee luikjes openen dan een beetje en laten baby Siebe zien én je ziet ook nog steeds de gestempelde buitenzijde met de boom, vlinders en zijn naam. Het was een flinke uitdaging om deze opspringende luikjes netjes te stempelen, en te laten drogen. De kaarten namen flink wat ruimte in op de tafel, dus lang leve de grote werktafel in de keuken van de studio :>) Ook het inpakken was nog een klusje, want de kaarten hadden de neiging op te springen. Elastiekjes vond ik te tricky, bang dat dit vouwstrepen zou geven. Al met al is het allemaal gelukt en waren de ouders er superblij mee en daar doe ik het voor!:>) [ENGLISH] My first triptych card! Also my first time using a picture in a card. Is has lovely result when you put the card down, the two sides slighty open and show baby Siebe and you still see the stamped tree and his name too. Quite a challenge to stamp this card, let alone to let them dry (taking quite some space) and pack these (jumpy) fellows. But I nailed it and made the parents very happy. :>)

Voor Rosa mocht ik een prachtig geboortekaartje ontwerpen. Haar ouders waren gecharmeerd van het kaartje dat ik drie jaar geleden voor mijn zoon ontwierp. Ik heb daar een tekening in verwerkt van mijn dochter die haar broertje had getekend. Rosa is in Engeland geboren en de ouders wilden iets dat het samenkomen van Engeland en Nederland symboliseert: de zee. Met bootje en zeemeeuw erbij. Op de achterzijde mocht grote broer Nils stralen, hij tekende zijn zusje en voor de sluitzegel zichzelf als cowboy. En met beetje fantasie zie ik daar toch ook echt een Engelse Bobby in :>) We werden echter enorm op de proef gesteld door PostNL. Die faalde enorm in het (niet) bezorgen. Een maand lang werd maar niet duidelijk waar het pakket was (ondanks aangetekend en Track & Trace) totdat ik het exact 1 maand na verzending het pakket bezorgd kreeg...in mijn studio. Het pakket had het land nooit verlaten. Echt verbijsterend en tot op de dag van vandaag loopt een dossier en wacht ik op hun terugkoppeling, excuses, een compensatie. Wat een stressvolle gebeurtenis was dit en nog niet eerder zo extreem meegemaakt. UPS heeft eindelijk voor gezorgd dat het snel en veilig bij Rosa's ouders werd bezorgd. [UK] This beautful birth announcement card was made for Rosa. Her parents loved the card I had designed three years ago for my son Olan. As Rosa was born in the UK, her parents wanted a card that symbolised the coming together of the UK and Holland: the sea. With a little boat and seagull. At the back of the card big brother Nils drew a beautiful drawing of his little sister. And for the seals he drew himself as a cowboy. This cowboy also reminds me a little of a Bobby! :>) Unfortunately the Dutch postal services did not do their job at all in delivering the cards and that was very stressful. UPS has delivered the cards in the end so the proud parents finally were able to announce Rosa's birth. I am glad we can put that behind us, but I am still waiting for the PostNL to give me a decent reply, apology even and a proper compensation. They certainly are not in hurry to settle my dossier...
