Keeping track of the attendance of Bible students can be a very easy task with the right tools. The above picture of an Attendance Chart gives the Bible teacher an idea of the simple details needed for a workable chart. By creating an uncomplicated table in a Word document, adding a few columns for certain data, and adding the student's name at the top of chart is all that is needed to record the attendance of an entire class within minutes. If a computer is not available, it may take a bit more time to create a chart using a ruler and black marker. Each week that a child is present, the child adds a sticker in the appropriate boxes to their own individual Attendance Chart. I buy generic star stickers and Bible stickers at a craft store such as Michael's Arts & Crafts or Hobby Lobby. Children love stickers, stickers are easy to apply, and stickers are an easy answer to document the presence of children in Bible class! Stickers can be inexpensive and can create interest. This is not a difficult project! The Bible teacher can incorporate the theme of the lessons to include a matching Attendance Chart, using such themes as "The Life of Joseph," (Genesis 30-50), "The Christian Soldier " (Eph. 6:10-18), or "The Sermon on the Mount" (Mt. 5, 6, 7). Bar graphs are also an option; however, they do take more time for the children to color. Whatever method is used, Attendance Charts can encourage children to attend class, bring a Bible, and put some diligent study into their memory work. After all, that is the desire of the dedicated Bible teacher: The presence of children in Bible class with Bibles under their arms and a head full of Bible knowledge!
I put this crown bulletin board up one year to help the kids to remember to bring their Bibles to class. Each time they brought their Bible, they got a star sticker on their crown.

As, I said in my previous POST, a NEW QUARTER brings NEW CHANGES. My KIDDOS will be learning about the Life of CHRIST over the next several months. It will take us more than a quarter to get though all the lessons I want to teach....so, we will take our time. However, with that being said, I wanted to share with you THIS quarters Attendance Chart!!! They are LITTLE EXPLORERS in a BOAT!!! They have a fishing pole and a hook. ( I lovingly made each of those "fish hooks" from aluminum foil!!!) The KIDDOS will add a FISH Sticker each time they come to Bible Class. I love using Attendance Charts like this....they can be used for Sunday AM and Wednesday PM classes. We use bigger fish stickers on Sunday and the smaller fish stickers on Wednesday. I am happy that this goes along with the Explorer Theme and the Life of CHRIST Theme!!!! Remember, we are to be FISHERS of MEN. Blessings, Ronda
Our NEW SPRING ATTENDANCE CHARTS! I am excited to share our NEW ATTENDANCE CHARTS with you. I decided to do a RACE TRACK Theme. I titled the Attendance Chart Board, "STAY ON THE RIGHT TRACK, ATTEND BIBLE CLASS!!" I bought this bulletin board set at our local Mardel. I printed the Title Cards. The Flags are actually the border trim that came with the bulletin board set....I just cut one piece into small flag sizes and stapled them up. I think it worked out fine. I liked the way it turned out...but, I though it needed something....so, off to the Dollar Tree I went. I found these little "hot wheel" style cars and knew they were what the Bulletin Board Needed!!! I used little pieces of Command Hook. I cut them into very small squares...and attached the Command Hook to the wheels of the car. Then I stuck them to the TRACK!! I LOVE how it turned out!!! It was just what the Bulletin Board was needing!!! The Kiddos will be sticking CAR STICKERS to the TRACK and the smaller stickers to the Center of the TRACK. However, I thought we might need a little MORE....So, when I was at the Dollar Tree I picked up these items. The KIDDOS will get to stick on a 3D car every few weeks and then at the end of the quarter we will stick the TROPHY CUP to the MIDDLE of their TRACK...right next to their name!! I hope the KIDDOS enjoy their new Attendance Charts!! Blessings, Ronda
Today the Kiddos were greeted with a new Attendance Chart Board. We had "promotions" a few Sundays back, so I had a few students move out and two "new" students added to our class. The children LOVED the flower pot attendance "charts." So, I decided I would follow them up with a Summertime themed attendance chart. This came together while I was at my local Dollar Tree. I saw the cute little Bee picture frames and decided there and then that I wanted to do a BEE themed attendance board. I love the fact that each of my students has their own picture in one of the Bees. The children will add a BEE sticker to their hive each time they come to Bible Class. The bottom of the hives says, ____________ loves BEE-ING in Bible Class. The kiddos will take their hives and picture frame home at the end of the quarter. I think it is an eye catching and attention grabbing board. I love the BRIGHT yellow, red and black combination. The kiddo's reaction was priceless. They LOVED the BEES and their pictures!!!! I hope it helps encourage them to BEE in Bible Class. Blessings, Ronda

This first picture is of my Christian Evidences bulletin board that I made for this quarter for my 1st-4th grade class. This one wasn't hard either. Especially since my mom had already made the letters on the leaves on her computer and used them previously. :-) Then all I had to do was come up with the rest. The pumpkins (orange) are the attendance chart, the soup cans (yellow) are for the food pantry, the Bibles (green) are for when they bring their Bibles. The sentence strips are laws that we need to learn concerning Christian Evidences such as; Where there is Design, there must be a Designer. The small green Bibles with pieces hanging from them is the students memory ribbon. Here is an up close look at the memory ribbon. I got this idea from Teah McWhorter and April Meacham from their Teach Them To Know God workshops. They say their memory verse and put a piece that has the verse labeled that they learned. As they learn the appropriate number which for this quarter I said 8 verses minimum and then they receive a book at the end of the quarter that they will receive in the auditorium handed to them by the preacher. They are excited because I have already been asked when do we get our book and when can I say my memory verse and I know it can I say it. Happy Teaching!

The children LOVED the Flower Pots Attendance Charts. They added a new flower to their flower pot every time they came to Bible Class. This was a great motivator and the little pots provided a great spring theme to the classroom. I think this has been my favorite attendance chart so far. They were excited to take them home at the end of the quarter. Blessings, Ronda
Each simple, colorful craft activity correlates with the Bible story taught that week. Also included are individual attendance charts (inside the back cover) and stickers. As each child arrives, he or she places a sticker on their personal attendance chart. Order 1 per child in the class per quarter.

I was recently asked what I thought about attendance charts being used in the Bible classroom. The answer, "I don't know." I go back and forth on this so much. At times I don't like them because the kids really are not in charge of when they come to class, but, then, I think they might inspire the kids to beg Mom and Dad to bring them to class. I do use attendance or motivation charts in most of my classrooms. Here are examples of some: My friend, Kim, teaches the 4 year olds and she has them add a small die cut fish to their "pond" each time they come to class. These are easy to make if you have access to a die cut machine. My friend, Sasha, and I taught 2nd grade last year and she modified their attendance charts to this idea - which I think is great for older kids. Each child has a bag labeled with his/her name and they "catch" fish for doing different things. This picture shows how many fish they get for doing different things in the classroom. In my classroom, my friend, Sandy, and I have a circus theme (more coming on that later). For our attendance charts, we have popcorn bags. Each time a child comes to class they get to put a scoop of real popcorn seeds in the bag. They also get a scoop of popcorn seeds if they bring their Bible to class. At the end of a determined time, we will replace the unpopped popcorn seeds with bags of microwave popcorn for them to take home. So, should you use attendance charts, that is for you to decide, but if you do make sure your attendance charts are kid friendly interactive colorful motivational Have fun!

With Autumn quickly approaching, I decided to do an Autumn Themed attendance board. I am thrilled with how it turned out. The board Title reads: "Fall" In For Bible Class! I LOVE the Autumn Colors...and I LOVE how excited the KIDDOS get when there are CHANGES in the room. It is AMAZING how "little" changes RENEW EXCITEMENT!! Since the KIDDOS will add a LEAF to their attendance card every time they attend Bible Class these TREES should fill in quickly. (I WILL MAKER SURE TO TAKE PICS AS THEIR TREES "FILL" IN WITH LEAVES.) The autumn trees were made from paper (lunch size) sacks. Super easy to make and I love the 3D look! 3D items are always SOOO much more exciting to KIDDOS. They LOVE the EXTRA Special look and feel to 3D items and visuals. It is worth the few EXTRA minutes to do something 3D. I love how they POP off the wall. I think they turned out really cute...and they were so simple to make!!! I am looking forward to seeing the BEAUTIFUL COLORS these trees will have as the KIDDOS fill up these trees with FALL COLORED LEAVES. I also, LOVE the fact the EACH LEAF THE KIDDOS ADD...WILL BE A BEAUTIFUL REMINDER OF THEIR ATTENDANCE TO BIBLE CLASS. Attendance Charts do Have a Purpose! BTW, these are the LEAVES the KIDDOS will be adding to their TREE. I purchased them at HOBBY LOBBY...and they were on sale 40% off!!! Blessings, Ronda

I love the changing of Seasons. I do not know about you, but, I feel RENEWED and REJUVENATED with a CHANGE in the SEASONS!!! My favorite Season is AUTUMN!! I seem more structured and more organized during the FALL. I try to change out our ATTENDANCE Board each quarter. Sometimes, I may be a few weeks behind the actual beginning of a quarter--but, I always have the best of intentions. :-) This quarter, I WAS READY!!!! I knew what I was going to do!!! OWLS are everywhere!!! They seem to be a popular classroom theme. So, since I have never done an OWL themed Attendance Board, I decided it was time to do one!! What made this Attendance Board so easy to make was that MOST of it comes from a BULLETIN Board set that I purchased at MARDEL. The OWLS and the BORDER were my "NEW" purchases. The LEAVES are from our supply room...I have had them for YEARS!!!! The TREES are from CLIP ART!! I just printed them out FULL PAGE!! I did print them on Cardstock for stability purposes. The KIDDOS will be adding OWL stickers and LEAVES stickers to their TREE. I LOVE the BRIGHT COLORS of this Attendance Board. I SMILE every time I walk into our Classroom and see it. Just KEEPING things real!!! The BLUE poster paper---the one I covered the bulletin board with---well it was TO SHORT!!! So, I just added extra OWL BORDER to MAKE UP the Difference! I LIKE IT!!! And, I was NOT about to run out an buy more POSTER PAPER for all of 6 INCHES. I believe in MAKING DUE when we can. :-) Have you changed out your Attendance Charts for the FALL? Do you get EXCITED with "LITTLE" changes. Hope this Attendance Bulletin Board makes you SMILE!!! Blessings, Ronda
Now that WINTER is officially upon us, I wanted out ATTENDANCE Charts to reflect this time of year. I decided to go with SNOW GLOBES. I reused the blue background paper from the past quarter...I changed out the border to a fun RED and WHITE Polka Dots!! I love the contrast!! I printed and laminated the words, "SNOW GLAD YOU ARE HERE!" then added them to the board. Then added on a BUNCH of snowflakes!!! I had these snowflakes in my supplies. I had purchased them several years ago...I bought them at Hobby Lobby on clearance. I love it when they put stuff on 90% off!! Then I used my clipart program and printed out the snow globes. I added pictures to my regular attendees....however, we plan on moving up a few more...so, I went ahead and printed out a few extra to be prepared. The final touch was to add the large snowflakes around the border!! I LOVE how this turned out. We have an idea to make these snow globes a little more "special" at the end of the quarter. I will post pictures when we do. Blessings, Ronda

Sandy came up with this game to review ANY story. Find a kangaroo pattern and enlarge two of them on a piece of poster board. Make pockets out of construction paper and glue the edges to the kangaroos to make a pocket. Label one pocket "True" and another pocket "False."Write sentences that go along with the story you want to review. Make some of the sentences true and some false. Laminate everything!! Use an exacto knife to open the pockets up so you can place the sentences in the pockets. You are ready to play!! Have your students read the sentences and decide if they are "true" or "false." Hope you have a hopping good time reviewing this way!
