El universo secreto de Baltasar Klossowski de Rola, conocido como Balthus ( París, 1908- Rossinière, 2001), un pintor francés que está considerado como uno los grandes maestros del arte del siglo pasado y cuyas obras son singulares y ambiguas, pero con la intención siempre de seguir su propio camino, alejado de las vanguardias, aunque en ocasiones haya ecos de un mundo surreal y sobre todo heredero de la gran tradición histórico-artística de la pintura italiana, más en concreto de Piero dell Francesca, Caravaggio, pero también de la escuela francesa representado por Poussin, Gericault, Courbet o incluso Ingres, sin olvidar la Nueva Objetividad del siglo XX. Ahora el Museo Thyssen-Bormenisza de Madrid, con el patrocinio de la Comunidad de Madrid y en colaboración con la Fundación Beyeler de Basilea, donde se ha exhibido hasta el pasado mes de enero, presenta una ambiciosa exposición con medio centenar de obras, desde los años 20 hasta sus obras finales, muchas de ellas pinturas de gran formato y algunas de ellas será la primera vez que se exhiban en España. Hace poco más de dos décadas el Museo Reina Sofía dedicó en 1996 una retrospectiva con un centenar de obras a Balthus, por lo que resulta muy pertinente volver la mirada a un clásico del siglo XX. La exposición del Thyssen permanecerá abierta hasta el 26 de mayo.
