Die Idee war, zur analogen Fotografie zurückzukehren, um Bilder zu schaffen, die im Gegensatz zu unserer schnelllebigen digitalen Welt entschleunigen. Im Rahmen des Masterstudiums von Gerald Berghammer war die analoge Fotografie das Thema seiner Abschlussarbeit im Jahr 2011. Die Qualität der Bilder war überzeugend und legte den Grundstein für SILVERFINEART. In den folgenden Jahren wurde das Thema intensiv studiert, um Fotokunst auf höchstem Niveau zu schaffen. Neben dem Handwerk der Fotografie selbst wurden alle Negative in der Dunkelkammer von Hand entwickelt. Anschließend wurden die Negative ausgewählt, und nur die Aufnahmen, die den Qualitätsansprüchen des Fotografen entsprachen, wurden in das Portfolio aufgenommen. Aufgrund von COVID und dessen Einfluss auf Lieferketten und Logistik und dem daraus resultierenden Mangel an analogen Filmen und Entwicklern passte sich Berghammer den neuen Gegebenheiten an und investierte in moderne digitale Mittelformattechnologie.
