Happy day dear Blog Friends! Today I have a new card to share and I have to say that as I made the card, I was swept with feelings of "real" empathy. I say "real" empathy because in years past my naivety would allow to me to say that I understood how someone else felt when in reality there was…
Oh my! This is one gorgeous and versatile Die! Definitely one you want to have in your collection, for sure!! It's great to use as a pocket, corner accent or stacked up like I did to make a shadowbox-type frame. The possibilities are endless! Not to mention, it's just a beautiful set of Dies! If you want to find out more about the Club - prices, how you sign up and what's included, please look --------> HERE. If you missed the introduction and want to know more about what inspired the Die of the Month Club, look ------->HERE. My First Project Today: I made a shadowbox frame with the smaller Die by stacking them up 4x on each corner with some foam dots between each layer. Love the intricate cuts in these Dies. So beautiful! I finished off the frame by adding the larger die from the Adoria Square Etched Dies to the top and then added lots and lots of pearls, flowers ribbon and stamped sentiment by Penny Black. For my Next Project, I made a "pocket card". This can be used to not only add a written note to the card inserted into the pocket but you can also add money or a gift card as well. I used the larger Die as the backdrop to my card. The smaller Die acts as a accent piece as well as helps to hold in my card. I like this idea for a Wedding card. I would put the card into a flat square box and also decorate it with these Dies. It would make a very pretty presentation. More inspiration is just a click away. Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m so excited to have the opportunity to share a couple of projects using the new Picot Petite Collection by Becca Feeken. The delicate lace-like edge and stylish scrollwork designs in this collection of dies inspired me to create a trio of elegant and dimensional floral cards for a variety of occasions. Square Friendship Card This first card keeps it a little simple with lots of die-cutting and a touch of stamping. I chose a color scheme that would work for most seasons so that I could send this friendship card any time of year. Cut a piece of white cardstock using the Medium Picot Petite Square and two of the Quadrant Inserts from the Filigree Quartet Die Set. Nestle the insert dies as far into the two corners of the square die as possible and run all three dies through your die-cutting machine in one pass. Stamp a sentiment from the All Occasion Sentiments Stamp and Die Set into the space in the center of the die-cut between the filigree inserts. Cut mint cardstock using two of the Quadrant Rim dies from the Filigree Quartet Die Set and adhere them to the back of the sentiment panel (behind the Quadrant Insert cuts) with liquid glue. Die cut flower layers and leaves from pink and mint cardstock using the Cinch and Go Flowers Two Die Set. Shape the flower petals a bit with a ball stylus to give them some dimension. Adhere the flower layers together with liquid glue and add a matte yellow enamel dot to the center to finish them off. Die cut teal cardstock using the Large Picot Petite Square die. Adhere kraft cardstock cut to 5” x 5” to a top-folding white card base measuring 5.25” x 5.25” with tape runner. Pop the teal die-cut panel up on top using foam adhesive. Adhere the white die-cut sentiment panel to the center of the card with more foam adhesive. Arrange the flowers and leaves around the sentiment and adhere down with strong liquid glue. Spellbinders Supplies: Other Supplies Stampin’ Up Mint Macaron Cardstock, Stampin’ Up Tranquil Tide Cardstock, Stampin’ Up Pink Pirouette Cardstock, kraft cardstock, white cardstock, matte yellow enamel dots, foam adhesive, tape runner, liquid glue Ribbon Threaded Autumnal Card The delicate loop edges in this collection are perfect for ribbon threading, so I stepped this next card up a bit with a pretty satin ribbon edge and a little foiling too. I love the warm autumn feel of this thank you card! Cut white cardstock using the Medium Picot Petite Oval die. Starting at the middle of the longer side of the oval, weave ¼-inch golden yellow satin ribbon through the loopy border until you reach your starting point. Tie a small bow to connect the ends. Cut copper metallic cardstock with the Small Picot Petite Oval die. Apply Copper Glimmer Foil to a piece of white cardstock using the Borders and Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate Set and the Glimmer Hot Foil Machine. Die cut the sentiment out using the Label die from the Bed of Lace Die Set. Cut kraft and copper metallic cardstock with the Large Picot Petite Rectangle die. Adhere the kraft die-cut on top of the copper die-cut with tape runner, offsetting just a bit to allow a peak of copper to show through. Cut flower layers and leaves out of yellow, orange, and green cardstock using the Cinch and Go Five Die Set. Shape the flower petals with a ball stylus and adhere together with liquid glue. Add a small copper rhinestone to the center of each flower. Adhere the layered kraft die-cut to the front of a top-folding white card base measuring 4.75” x 6” with foam adhesive. Pop the ribbon-threaded panel up on top in the center of the kraft panel using foam adhesive. Adhere the copper oval and sentiment panels in the center with foam adhesive as well. Arrange the flowers and leaves around the sentiment panel and adhere down with strong liquid glue. Spellbinders Supplies: Other supplies Stampin’ Up Pineapple Punch cardstock, Stampin’ Up Mango Melody Cardstock, Stampin’ Up Pear Pizzazz Cardstock, Copper Kraft-Stock, white cardstock, copper rhinestones, foam adhesive, liquid glue, tape runner Making Spirits Bright Christmas Card Maybe I just have Christmas on the brain right now, but I couldn’t help but see an ornate tree shape in the beautiful designs of the Bed of Lace Die Set. So, I decided to use them to create a pretty background for this very festive slimline card. Trim pieces of white and green cardstock to 8” x 3.5”. Cut the white cardstock with the Decorative Insert dies from the Bed of Lace Die Set, using both in the center of the panel to create the “tree” shape and then each one inverted at the edges of the panel (an upside-down half-“tree” shape). Adhere the green panel to the back of the white panel with glue. Apply Gold Glimmer Foil to a piece of white cardstock using the Elegant Holiday Glimmer Plate Set and the Glimmer Hot Foil Machine. Die cut the sentiment out using the Label die from the Bed of Lace Die Set. Cut two more Labels out of gold metallic cardstock and adhere them (offset) to the back of the sentiment panel to form a shadow layer. Apply Gold Glimmer Foil to red and green cardstock using the Glimmer Poinsettia Plate Set and the Glimmer Hot Foil Machine. Cut the flowers and leaves out using the coordinating dies, bend each petal and leaf down the center to shape, and adhere the layers together with liquid glue. Mat the white background panel with gold metallic cardstock and red cardstock, and adhere them down to a top-folding white card base measuring 9” x 4” with tape runner. Pop the sentiment panel up in the center of the card front using foam adhesive. Arrange the flowers and leaves around the sentiment panel and adhere down with strong liquid glue. Spellbinders Supplies: Other supplies Stampin’ Up Cherry Cobbler cardstock, Stampin’ Up Shaded Spruce Cardstock, gold metallic cardstock, white cardstock, foam adhesive, liquid glue, tape runner I hope you enjoyed this trio of elegant floral cards and thanks so much for stopping by today. Becca continues taking her love of classic embroidery and lace elements by introducing her latest layering collection of dies.
