Beautiful and rare Breitling Navitimer Chrono-Matic 1806; Not only a must-have for collectors with a beautiful history, but above all a pilot's watch from the early 1970s, according to the accompanying papers, 10/05/1972 to be precise. This analog measuring instrument was often supplied to pilots and the air force in the 60's and 70's, before the existence of digital measuring instruments in aircraft. The integrated 'slide ruler' (or mechanical calculation ruler) made it possible to quickly make fuel, climb/descent timing, flight duration and other flight calculations during flights. Top vintage, in original and certainly worn condition. The aluminum bezel that should be black is light in color, has become tarnished (common phenomenon) and is fixed (does not rotate). The case back is still quite legible in the right light (brand/serial number and of course correspond to the papers) but is certainly somewhat faded. The dial and hands are sleek, neat and original. We have adjusted the price to the condition and scope of delivery of the whole. This was a huge watch for the time, measuring approximately 48mm, and clearly more of an instrument than a daily timepiece. Moreover, the short 'lugs' (case legs) make it extremely portable, even on narrower wrists. The Valjoux cal. 11 'microrotor' automatic movement is signed on the bridge with 'Breitling watch ltd.' and runs fine. It can be wound smoothly and the chronograph function works properly. The amplitude and accuracy of this watch are excellent within current strict COSC standards. This timepiece is known for being very robust and easy to use and parts are available everywhere or a specialist can repair/maintain it. This watch came on an unbranded steel strap that fits perfectly and is included. For the sake of beauty, we have replaced this strap with a beautifully matching new high-quality leather strap. As mentioned, this beautiful timepiece including original papers and Breitling box comes from the 1970s. A great vintage classic and pure Breitling as it was once intended... But in a rare full-set with a 1-year warranty.

This analogue measuring instrument was often supplied to pilots, air forces and racing drivers at that time. The integrated 'slide ruler' (or mechanical calculation rule) made it possible to quickly make complex calculations during a flight or race. The Breitling Chrono-Matic 2110 is a special watch that occupies an important place in the history of Breitling and the watch world in general. Introduced in 1969, this model is best known for its innovative design and the use of the automatic chronograph caliber, a revolutionary achievement at that time. The Breitling Chrono-Matic 2110 is part of the Chrono-Matic series, which was launched in 1969. This year marks a milestone in watchmaking history, as it was the moment when several brands, including Breitling, Zenith and Seiko, introduced the first automatic chronograph calibers. Breitling worked with Heuer, Büren and Dubois Dépraz to develop the Caliber 11 and later its successor, Caliber 12, on the automatic chronograph movement that formed the basis for the Chrono-Matic series. This was one of the very first automatic chronographs ever produced, making it a special model. The Breitling Chrono-Matic 2110 has a design typical of the late 1960s and early 1970s, with a bold and sporty look. The watch features a 30-minute chronograph at the 3 o’clock position and a 12-hour chronograph at the 9 o’clock position, while the central seconds hand keeps track of the chronograph seconds. A striking feature is the date display, which on this model is located at the 6 o’clock position, which was quite unusual for that time. A unique feature of the Chrono-Matic 2110 is the position of the crown, which is located on the left side of the case, at the 9 o’clock position. This was a characteristic design of the Caliber 11/12, which is immediately noticeable and sets the watch apart from other chronographs of the same period. The crown position was intended to make the watch more comfortable to wear, especially when using the chronograph pushers. The Caliber 12 automatic chronograph caliber used in the Breitling Chrono-Matic 2110 was one of the first automatic chronograph movements in watchmaking history. This movement combined a micro-rotor driven automatic system with a chronograph module, which was a groundbreaking technical achievement at the time. The movement has a ticking frequency of 19,800 vph (vibrations per hour) and offers a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. The movement runs excellently and accurately. We measure an amplitude of approximately 270 degrees and deviation that meets the current strict factory/chronometer standard with (measured) approximately +1 sec./24h deviation. The Breitling Chrono-Matic 2110 has acquired an iconic status among watch enthusiasts and collectors over the years. The model is regarded as a symbol of the technological progress in the watch industry during the late 1960s and represents an important chapter in the history of automatic chronographs.
