"This powerful book will help you tackle stress and learn more about yourself in the process" Sir Clive Woodward OBE Are you feeling stressed at work? Is it "good" stress, "bad" stress? Or has it turned into "ugly" stress? For some, there is a high price to pay for ambition and success. The toll it can take on our mental health can be significant, particularly if we are born with the 'Worry' gene. In Beat Stress at Work, management trainer Mark Simmonds helps you understand the effects stress and anxiety can have on your mental health and provides tools and advice to help you to find your way through work-induced struggles. Sharing his own brutally honest journey and using his corporate experience, Mark sheds light on the difficulty of discussing mental health with colleagues and employers and identifies the best ways for navigating your way through a mental health crisis. The book: Encourages you to maintain positive mental health by better understanding yourself and finding a career that suits your most authentic self. Shows you how to return safely to the workplace after a period of mental ill health and communicate effectively with your peers and managers. Demonstrates how your resilience 'muscle' can help you fulfil your ambitions in the professional arena, while being mindful of your mental health. Pinpoints some of the key lessons from COVID-19 about stress management and the working environment. Through the advice in this book, you will learn that your mental health issues may not be the barriers you view them as but may hold value in the workplace. Mark shows you that it is possible to be ambitious and successful at work because of, not in spite of, the mental health challenges you may face. Black-and-white drawings

If you are one of those who want to control high blood pressure levels then you are in the right place. High blood pressure can be controlled and even we can get rid of it permanently. You all have read many articles in which they will tell you to lose weight, to properly take medicines and all that stuff. That all is necessary but with this, you all know diet matters a lot. So in this article, we are particularly talking about dietary methods to control your high blood pressure for longer terms. Obviously, it takes lifestyle changes if you want to manage your blood pressure. Let's talk about types of hypertension and stages. When the cause of hypertension is unknown, it is known as essential hypertension. Symptoms: Many persons with hypertension have no symptoms. Headache, dizziness, impaired vision, failing memory, shortness of breath, pain over the heart, gastrointestinal disturbance, and unexplained tiredness are some of the symptoms. Treatments: Earlier Kempner's rice fruit diet was suggested for hypertension. This diet includes white rice, fruits, vegetables, and sugars. They choose white rice because these were widely available all over the world and consumed by a large population at those times. This diet is followed now for very serious and critical patients with hypertension, kidney, and eye disorders. Because the diet is very restrictive and deficient in many nutrients it is not used for normal patients. Do Not Use: Salt in cooking or at table Monosodium glutamate(ajinomoto). Baking powder, Sodium bicarbonate, and sodium benzoate. Salt preserved foods: Pickles, canned foods. Highly salted transfat foods such as potato chips. Ketchup and sauces. Cheese, peanut butter, salted butter. Frozen peas. Shellfish and dry fish. Prepared mixes. Biscuits, cakes, bread, pastries. For restricting sodium less than 500 mg low sodium vegetables should be chosen apart from the above restriction. Potassium: Potassium's role in hypertension is actually the result of a complex interplay with sodium, calcium, and magnesium found in all living cells and in blood. Low levels of potassium cause the body to retain sodium and water and this can elevate blood pressure. Research suggests that the risk of stroke, common consequences of high blood pressure, relates inversely with the amount of potassium in the diet and the lowest risk is among in high potassium low sodium group. 3500 mg of potassium is required daily. Fruits and vegetables should be taken liberally to meet the potassium requirements. Calcium: Some preliminary studies have shown that as the intake of calcium increased the incidence of hypertension declined. Calcium is involved in the control of strength with which blood is pumped by the heart and with the number of resistances in the flow of blood in the veins and capillaries both of which contribute to blood pressure. LifeStyle Modification: Weight reduction Adopt a dietary approach to stop hypertension, DASH, eating plan Dietary sodium reduction Physical activity Moderate alcohol consumption Diet suggested by DASH Food groups Servings Grains 7-8 Vegetables 4-5 Fruits 4-5 Milk(low fat) 2-3 Meat(lean) 2 or less According to DASH, the following diet may bring about a healthy reduction in blood pressure A high amount of fruits and vegetables Inclusion of fish Inclusion of low-fat milk Reducing the fat intake Reducing sodium Studies have shown that a high intake of fruits and vegetables result in low mortality among those with stroke. Low levels of dietary flavonoids are associated with a higher risk of stroke. Fibre and folic acid have also been associated with a higher risk of stroke. Fibre and folic acid have also been associated with protection against stroke. Green leafy and cruciferous vegetables and citrus fruits, in particular, are found to be protective.
