Made with thick yarn on chunky needles, this drop-shoulder cardi knits up in record time. Features a ribbed neckline, over-size fit, balloon cuffs and heart motif on the back. The Love Bomber comes in three size options and is knit from the bottom up as one piece before dividing off at the underarms. The sleeves are knit in the round from top down. Tip: This cardigan is worked on 10mm and 15mm circular needles. While this pattern could technically be knit on straight needles, the bulky yarn means the stitches won’t actually fit on them. We recommend circular needles for this project so that you can get the extra length needed. Designed to be worn with 2-10” / 5-25 cm ease. Finished Bust measurements are 98.5 (110.5, 123) cm / 38.75” (43.5, 48.5)“. Sizes read as A (B, C). Model is approx 88 cm/34.5” at the bust and wears size B with approx 9” / 22.5 cm positive ease.

Balloons, like plastic bags, create a lot of litter. Here's why you should say no to balloons and some eco-friendly alternatives to balloons.

Our Wedding Announcements came! I mailed all 20 of them out in today's mail. In case you are wondering what the "fine print" says It just basically says the where and when and that it will be a PRIVATE ceremony and that we look forward to celebrating our marriage with friends & family in the near future! *********** Art Room Happenings *********** My Second graders have been working on these Hot Air Balloons now for a few weeks! I have laid down the law with my expectations of coloring with "No white showing" Thus not a rapid breeze through project! Kindergarten Polar Bears! I read them "the three snow bears" by Jan Brett White Paint, Oil Pastels, sharpies. What I don't like about this lesson is that my sharpies some how run out of ink from the paint. I swear the second you take a sharpie over tempera paint to outline, it like kills the marker. I've been working hard on "Organizing" my students C R E A T I O N S T A T I O N So basically what this shelf is --is for my students to come over and keep them selves busy should they finish a project early. They have their option of stencils, plain white paper, How to draw cards, word searches, or coloring pages. Every year I throw my old markers that still work, into this marker bin that the students are allowed to use to during their extra free draw time. The color pencils where randomly there in my room when I over took it, so I have those (my junky mis-matched ones) and then a completely "complete" set that my older kids use on more in depth projects. The biggest challenge for my students is that they keep grabbing our "GOOD" project markers and crayons for "free draw" which they aren't suppose to do. Our Good markers I try to keep in color coded containers for each of my tables. I keep all "MISC" craft stuff in Mason Jars. It makes it WAY easy to see what I am low on! This poster is a new addition to my room (thank you Pinterest!) It REALLY benefits ALL grades as a reminder of how color the "right" way!
Age of Exploration: Here are a few activities we have been doing in our Explorer unit recently ... I start off this unit with a GREAT lesson from the SS series History Alive. They have you put on underwater music and have the kids pretend to be archaeologists scuba diving and discovering an old "Explorer" wreck. They retrieve these artifacts, log them, and discover what they tell us about the Explorers. We then categorize them like you see above. They kids really get into this lesson! At the beginning of the unit I also have the students partner up and share their "explorer schema" with each other. Then we share as a class and discuss together what we think we already know. My favorite spot in my classroom is my history corner. I get antsy throughout the school year and I love that this little area is constantly changing. Plus, I love how interactive it is - I try and always have "artifacts" that the kids can touch, books that relate to the topic, maps/pictures, clothing/costumes, and as we go, I add their artwork to make it authentic :) We are not technically supposed to hang any thing from our ceilings due to fire codes ... but no one has talked to me yet and this makes our room feel so much more "explorer ship-like" ;) Compasses the kids made This is another FUN activity. We learn about how the explorers brought back lots of new tastes from the "New World" Before I have them identify what these "tastes" are we do a "New World Smelling" activity. I have the different food items pre-cut and labeled in numbered dixie cups (take a little prep time the night before) Then the kids get a sheet to record their "smells" and their guesses. I actually made 2 sets so that the kids could all be doing it at the same time - I only had 12 items "New World" Tastes: Potato tomoto bell peppers tobacco - obviously not in the cups! *lol* vanilla chocolate pineapple blueberries kidney beans sunflower seeds pumpkin (not in the cups - out of season) corn peanut butter chili peppers In pairs, I have the students read a biography about an explorer. Using this information they have to fill out an "explorer ship" together answering what the their explorers greatest achievement was, his motives for exploration, two facts they found interesting, and their discovery. I added these to our map - aren't they cute? We filled in a map that had famous expedition routes on it We used our knowledge of explorer styles ships and drew them to go with our explorer newspaper article we will be writing to go with our informational writing this week. Up, up and away! Miffy and her balloon is one of her most iconic images. The simple illustration and bold, bright colours of the poster make it a fun-filled addition to your child's bedroom wall. Or even on the wall of your own sitting room, perhaps? Dick Bruna's iconic Miffy illustrations are instantly recognisable across the world. The bold colours and simple lines have also made Miffy a bit of a design classic! The yellow background is joyful and fun, and the balloon itself is an image of childhood innocence and play. Miffy, of course, embodies all these qualities, so it's no wonder that this is one of our favourite Miffy prints! Printed in the UK, our mini posters are printed on 11" x 14" semi-matte 280gsm gallery grade paper, for the utmost quality of print. The size is ideal for the image, considering that when mounted and framed, it looks much larger than it is. Kids and adults alike delight in Bruna's relatable stories and beautiful drawings, and have done for over sixty years now. Here at the official Miffy Shop, we have everything you need to bring a little Miffy magic into your life, so why not pass on your love for Miffy to the next generation?
