Car oui ces cookies ne sont pas vraiment très très healthy … Mais bon le gras c’est la vie n’est-ce pas ? 😉 Bonne rentrée à tous, et à très vite Xx Pour une dizaine de gros cookies (recette de base La Cuisine de Bernard) : 260g de sucre de canne complet 1 grosse pincée de fleur de sel 250g de beurre salé fondu 1 pincée de poudre de vanille 2 oeufs 470g de farine 200g de pépites de chocolat noir 200g de pépites de Reeses (si vous n’en avez pas sous la main, remplacez-les par des pépites de chocolat noir ou autre) 200g de noix de pécan torréfiées Dans la cuve d’un robot, mélanger le sucre avec la vanille en poudre. Ajouter le beurre fondu, mélanger bien pour obtenir une crème. Tout en mélangeant, ajouter les oeufs, jusqu’à ce que ce soit homogène. Verser ensuite la farine d’un coup et malaxer. Hacher grossièrement les noix et ajouter les pépites de chocolat. Finir par pétrir à la main. Former des boules de 180g environ, sans quelles soient trop régulières. It was an easy task, considering their creative window displays and eye catching merchandise were continually luring me inside

There's nothing like the smell of homemade bread. I love it hot out the oven, the crusty end bits broken off, eaten warm with a smear of butter. Adding to the charm of this twisted olive bread is it's shape. To match the saltiness of the olives, I made this bread with my cooking class last week to serve with a caramelised onion and red pepper caponata. It was voted dish of  the day. Breads such as this, with additional flavourings, are best served with a peppery green olive oil and nothing else. But, if you're thinking of offering it as a precursor to the main meal, then a few tasty dips and spreads are a lovely idea. I'd go with a fresh basil pesto, tapenade or sun-dried tomato-ish spread. Let's talk a little about the dough. Most often, when I make bread, I opt for a slow overnight proofing. A chilled rest in the fridge is the simplest way to improve both the taste and texture of bread. The next morning, once the dough has come to room temperature, I add the flavourings and shape. It's casual and rather rustic. No two loaves ever look the same, each one having its own particular character and charm. After the second proofing, it's into a hot oven to bake. To encourage a quick initial rise and good crust, I slide a tray of ice cold water into a deep roasting tray on the very bottom oven shelf. This step isn't essential but it'll take your bread making up a notch. Very seldom is there any bread left over, even when I make two loaves. But, if there are, day old bread makes incredibly good croutons. Add them to panzanella salad or scattered over pasta bakes or risotto.

Il y a déjà quelques recettes de banana bread ici. Mais cette nouvelle recette est super moelleuse croyez-moi ! C'est devenu ma recette chouchou. Et on ne dit jamais non à une tranche de banana bread pour le petit déjeuner. Imaginez-la toastée avec un peu de beurre ... mmmh j'ai déjà faim !
