Phil is a suspension lamp in black metal. A thread stretched in space and stories that cross it, hovering between fantasy and reality. Backlit silhouettes stand out in space and tell stories of impossible undertakings or of everyday life.
Late last summer as the nights began to cool off our garden began winding down for the season, we were enjoying a bonfire on our little patio when I looked up and saw the silhouettes of our globe thistles backlit by a warm orange light coming from our basement window. The contrast was very striking so I snapped a photo to draw or paint at a later date. **This illustration is listed at a discount because there is a dent in both bottom corners. The dent on the bottom left corner is from handling at the manufacturer and the dent on the bottom right corner is from the illustration being dropped. Once the illustration is framed or matted and framed, these flaws will be invisible. They do not affect the drawing. -this is NOT a print. this is an original acrylic marker (posca is the brand i use) drawing. besides cards, i do not make prints of my work -this painting has a 3/4 inch paper border around the entirety of the painting to accommodate matting and/or framing -this painting is done on illustration board which is a thicker and sturdier substrate than watercolor paper -this painting comes attached to a cardboard backing and is inside a clear plastic sleeve to keep it safe from bending and fingerprints -it is NOT framed

With gilded history reflected across so many arrondissements in Paris, here are 29 places that are among the most beautiful in the city.
Inspired by the popular Monkey Island video game series, this piece of silhouart is deliberately pixelated to match the older screen resolutions of the original games and depicts the backlit silhouette of two pixelated figures against a pixelated oceanside tower. Created from an original photograph taken by the artist in Lisbon, Portugal, the silhouette and other aspects of the image inspired by the game are digital images created by the artist and superimposed upon the photograph. The completed image is then digitally manipulated and printed. The artist then draws and paints upon the print to add highlights and shadows where needed and the finished image is scanned back into a digital file to send for multiple prints to be made. Each print is individually numbered as part of a limited run of 25 prints.

"Evening Tranquility" captures a serene scene of a solitary tree standing gracefully in front of a shimmering body of water, all backlit by the vibrant hues of a colorful sunset. Executed with a palette knife, the painting boasts rich, textured strokes that add depth and dimension to the composition. The tree's silhouette is elegantly outlined against the sky, where warm oranges, pinks, and purples blend seamlessly, casting a tranquil glow over the water. This evocative piece embodies the peaceful transition from day to night, inviting viewers to experience a moment of pure, reflective calm. 20" x 16" x 1.5" (sides painted, no frame needed).
