Yes, that's right! Inspired by my last post with altered Christmas bags cards and boxes I decided to go back to my old and a bit neglected Brown Paper Bag Project - the one with simple paper layouts and old family photos:) So, I took some of the leftovers I had, some more Sizzix dies and grabbed "Hopefully" paper collection from 7 Dots Studio... and here it is, sweet winter paper bag layout! All the information and some step-by-step photos are already waiting for you on Sizzix.uk blog - take peek! In the meantime I work hard preparing details for Australian and NZ tour, CHA projects and classes in France and Sweden - it is all so close and I simply can't make a mistake on this stage! Keep fingers crossed for me:) I'm happy that my classes in January, on the Prima Art Venture event are in the last stage too... I can't wait to teach this super-grungy journal class! Here is the peek what we are going to do in the classroom... but I promise to share more in the coming days! xoxoxo Finn

i must admit to not being one for decorating for valentines, however i do like hearts and i do like little strings of happy for their ability to brighten the day, so why not i say... before we begin, several things several thing one: you could make this little string longer and larger if you so wish by using full sized book pages and more of them several thing two: if you do that, you will probably have to use something more sturdy to string them altogether several thing three: you do not need a trusty sewing machine, there are ways around this and i will pop them in brackets where relevant in the recipe below several thing four: due to the nature of how i have stitched the pages together, it is a tres delicate little string so care is needed when handling the happy hearts a 'little string of happy hearts' how~to skill level: easy peasy lemon squeezy ingredients: * old book pages * happy coloured thread for trusty machine or hand embroidery thread * scraps of decorative papers (wallpaper, scrapbooking paper, wrapping paper etc) * handy dandy glue stick * little paper label of sorts (more on that in recipe) * spiffy paper scissors * trusty sewing machine (optional) * 15 minutes and a cup of tea recipe: * with 2 or 3 book pages held together, fold and tear in half, and then in half again, so you have 4 quarters when put together, make a whole page * with trusty sewing machine and happy coloured thread stitch around your torn pages. this is for two reasons, one to keep the layers together and two, because its a jolly thing to do (if not using a trusty sewing machine, just glue your layers together and set aside to dry. perhaps consider adding faux stitching with a coloured marker, could look mighty fine) * cut out happy hearts from your scraps of paper, do not draw them on first, eyeball them so each one will have their own personality and charm * with glue stick in hand, spend a few moments attaching each heart to its own little stitched book page, once again do not worry about the placement greatly. * if you happen to have the 'little lucky bunny' postcard which came with my book, then cut out the tag saying 'please hold on to my heart', if not, do not fret nor weep at Tif using something which you do not own. you can hand write your little tag or indeed print one off like i did, if you have a handy dandy printer * take your happy heart pages and with a trusty sewing machine stitch them in a happy line. be sure to leave plenty of thread either end of your happy heart pages so you have something to hang them up with. also leave a little gap when sewing them together so they dingle dangle nicely. don't forget at the end to stitch your tag on. i did and had to go back due to my forgetful ways. (if you are not using a trusty sewing machine, take a needle with embroidery thread and carefully so as not to tear the book pages, hand-stitch running stitches along the top of your book pages) * admire your little string of happy hearts * hang your little string of happy hearts in a place most suited to maximize the happiness they give off and where others may too appreciate the sentiment behind your little string Tif :)

I forgot to post project pictures so it's time for some Stampin' Sisters Retreat catch up. Today I'm sharing projects 3, 6 & 7!!
Nancy and Kath inspired me to do a final post for the year, choosing my favorite cards from 2011. I spent a good couple of hours going through them all, and I guess I know now that my style is layered and flowery......do you agree? These are chronological, beginning with my dreams of a baby granddaughter, and that dream came true when our sweet little Alma was born in January! The pink theme continued into February, this time using one of my favorite Hero Arts stamps of the year, called 3 Dotted Flowers: I used them again on this one, too, using a sketch from CASE Study: And beginning to dream of spring here, using the Simple Frame stamp: Here's my lone representation from March, which was inspired by one of my favorite card makers, Jacqueline: April brought lots of butterflies: Pinks in May, using my favorite Hydrangea stamp: For June, I could not resist this one, using one of my oldest stamps that is a sentimental favorite: I really liked this one, made for a sketch at PaperCrafts magazine, but it was not chosen for publication: And these colors came from a challenge at CR84FN; such happy colors! Are you tired yet? From July I chose two cards. This one uses beautiful Pink Paislee flowers and a Verve stamps sentiment: And this one was a thank you for Nat: Both of my August choices are from a challenge at Lily Pad Cards using the emboss/resist technique. The second one won me a FAB FIVE prize at Hero Arts! Two blue cards for September. The first a case of one of Jill Foster's cards, when she invited me to take over her blog for the day: This one uses another of my sentimental faves, a Flourishes violet stamp: October is my favorite month, because it means autumn to me: And one more using the big letter stamps from Hero Arts, along with the faux letterpress technique: Here are my favorites from November: And an early look at one of my favorite 2011 Christmas stamps from Hero Arts: December was mostly Christmas and winter cards: And for a final challenge of the year: Are you still with me? Thanks so much for going down memory lane with me. I want to thank all of my followers for sticking with me this year, and encouraging me with your lovely comments. Wishing you all a prosperous and healthy New Year!

So far none of these packages have come back to me, so fingers crossed they made it to their destinations! I especially enjoyed making the mail for Emmy. She is in her first year away at college and her mother asked me to write to her - Emmy's mother said the two of them read my blog, and that was
