My string group have thoroughly enjoyed playing this piece. The music is easy to read and has helped them to progress with their playing of the music. I downloaded this piece for my ensemble to play. This arrangement adds some extra notes to the simplicity of Bach's original piece. The subjects and choral parts are divided among the different instruments and can be hard to discern. Also, the violin fingering is much more friendly in the original key of Eb. I ended up re-arranging it to better represent the original as well as make it more playable for my instrumentalists. Great arrangement! Just what I was looking for. I've played with my siblings in a string quartet for many years. The difficulty level was just right for the less experienced among us. Not too complex, but sounds great. My only problem with it was that the music itself had poor bowing/fingering suggestions. Seems like they were made by an individual who didn't play strings. It would be better if their were no suggested markings, in my opinion. I really enjoyed playing this piece with my string quartet. It is a great arrangement for intermediate to advanced players, especially if you need to play something beautiful but don't have much time to rehearse. I purchased this music for the musicians who are playing at my wedding. It is a beautiful arrangement, just what I needed.
