Winda - Bunurong Bajerrang, Bunurong Ballerrt (Bunurong Women, Bunurong Strength) Once upon a time, in the ancient lands of Bunurong, there lived a woman named Winda. Her name, signifying "star," was a reflection of her radiant spirit and unwavering determination. Winda possessed a rare gift - she was a skilled healer, deeply connected to the land and its abundance. Her knowledge of the plants and herbs that carpeted the forests and fields was unparalleled, passed down through generations of Bunurong women before her. In times of sickness and strife, when the shadows of despair loomed large over the community, Winda would venture into the heart of nature. With each step guided by the gentle glow of starlight, she traversed the dense foliage, collecting the healing bounty that nature graciously offered. With her hands as tender as the whispers of the wind, Winda would soothe the pain of the wounded and ill. Her touch brought not just physical relief but also a beacon of hope in times of darkness. She listened intently to the stories woven into the fabric of each leaf and petal, understanding that true healing extended beyond the physical realm. Winda's strength was not only in her remarkable abilities but also in her boundless compassion. She nurtured not just bodies but also spirits, offering solace and encouragement to those in need. As the stars danced across the night sky, Winda's light shone brightly, illuminating the path of healing for her people. Her legacy, like the stars that adorned the heavens, would forever guide and inspire the Bunurong community, reminding them of the enduring power of compassion and resilience. 1920x1080 px Image for Personal Use Enhance your space with this stunning high-resolution digital image! Australian Convict Sites is a World Heritage property consisting of 11 remnant penal sites originally built within the British Empire during the 18th and 19th centuries on fertile Australian coastal strips at Sydney, Tasmania, Norfolk Island, and Fremantle; now representing "...the best surviving examples of large-scale convict transportation and the colonial expansion of European powers through the presence and labour of convicts". These properties were all individually included on the Australian National Heritage List before inclusion on the World Heritage list. Preparations began in 1995, and a World Heritage nomination was first made in January 2008. That attempt failed, and the nomination was subsequently reworked. The 11 penal sites constituting the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage listed property are: - Cockatoo Island Convict Site (New South Wales) - Great North Road (New South Wales) - Hyde Park Barracks (New South Wales) - Old Government House (New South Wales) - Kingston and Arthurs Vale Historic Area (Norfolk Island) - Brickendon and Woolmers Estates (Tasmania) - Cascades Female Factory (Tasmania) - Coal Mines Historic Site (Tasmania) - Darlington Probation Station (Tasmania) - Port Arthur (Tasmania) - Fremantle Prison (Western Australia) Out of over 3,000 convict sites remaining in Australia, the 11 constituting the Australian Convict Sites were selected as the pre-eminent examples of the world's convict era satisfying World Heritage selection criteria IV & VI... more on Wikipedia.
