Does anyone else have a child that loves throwing birthday parties for their stuffed animals?! Hayden constantly wants to pull out the streamers, balloons, and decorations for his little 'friends'. He inspired me to create a Birthday Party Preschool Pack! Be sure to scroll to the end of the post for a freebie! You can check it out in my TPT store here! Birthday Party Preschool Pack We are having a blast with these activities! First up, SPRINKLES! Need I say more! He dove right into this writing tray, and traced each letter in the sprinkles! Then we did a cake smash. We rolled up play dough balls to place beneath each sight word cupcake. As he read the word, he smashed the ball of play dough! This activity also comes in an alphabet version for younger learners. Something about beads and pipe cleaners ALWAYS holds my little guy's attention. Here, he identified the number, and then placed that many beads onto each pipe cleaner. Great for counting, AND fine motor practice. Sensory play is also a favorite around here. I made a batch of cloud dough, and threw in some sprinkles to make it birthday party themed. Then, I added our little Learning Resource letters. As he pulled out a letter, he traced it on the recording sheet. Cake counting and decorating! These mats can be used with gems, sequins, dot markers, stickers, but we used Magic Nuudles. They are super neat. Just dip in a bit of water, and they STICK to the page! Have you ever painted with balloons? It is so much fun! Just dip the balloon in paint, and make prints! Play Doh Cupcake Tray- just add cupcake liners and candles! There was SO much sorting and counting going on with this! Decorate a GIANT box cake! This got messier than I expected, but it was a BLAST! Ta-Da!!!! Puffy Painting Cupcakes- Just add a bit of glue and shaving cream and mix well. Throw in a few drops of liquid watercolors and PAINT! It dries super fluffy! Candle Counting Mats - Pick a number card and count candles onto the cake. Alphabet Memory- This is a fun game to play with muffin liners. Place letters under each liner. Flip over two, if the letters are the same, keep the letters. Shaving Cream Cupcakes- My kids always have a blast playing with shaving cream and liquid watercolors! We cut paper towels in the shape of balloons! The boys used liquid watercolors and pipettes and these turned out BEAUTIFUL!!! We love doing spin art! I cut out these cupcakes and then let the boys go wild with paint and glitter! No birthday is complete without decorations! I hung sight word cards (letter cards also included) on streamers. Hayden would pull down a card, and read the word! Decorate a letter- LOTS of glitter glue and confetti went into making these beauties!! Party Sounds- Place the beginning sound cards in small gift boxes or gift bags. Pick a card, identify the beginning sound, and trace it on the recording page. Make a Gift Bag - Follow the directions to make each gift bag. Count and Clip Syllables- Count the syllables in each word and clip a clothespin onto that number. Pizza Shapes - Pick a shape card. Identify the shape, and trace the shape on the pizza. Counting Bows - Count mini bows onto each present. Grab all these activities, and TONS more in my TPT shop! The Pokemon that I made from poster boards, construction paper, glue, and sharpies (for the outlines) L-R: Pikachu, Piplup, Tepig, Snivy, Charmander, and Oshawott. I used construction paper vs painting or markers so that I wouldn't get the brush marks. I made a U out of wire hangers and taped them to the back to use as stakes. I wish I would've used the same manilla color that I used for Charmander's belly for Snivy, but it doesn't bother me enough to do it over. Less than two weeks before my little man turns 6! I can't believe it!
