Please read my entire description BEFORE placing an order, including "Condition". No. 457 Chestnut Backed Chickadee and/or No. 458 Golden Crowned Sparrow Offered is an Original Vintage 1937 edition Book Plate, Print, or Bird Print I removed or cut from the books, BIRDS OF AMERICA BY JOHN JAMES AUDUBON. John James Audubon's BIRDS OF AMERICA was first published as a series between 1827 and 1837 in Edinburgh and London. These are NOT "art print" reproductions. These bookplates, prints, or pages are two (2) sided. In other words, there is a bird print on each side. You decide which side to display. These prints measure about 9" by 12 1/2". NOTE: If you order bookplates or prints from different editions or years, the bookplates or prints will not be the same size or have the same age toning, as they will come from different books. The books age and tone differently depending on the elements to which they were exposed. Also, the books were not all published using the same paper. Even within the same year. Condition: These bookplates or prints are all in good to very good condition. But none are perfect. ALL of these bookplates or prints have age toning or yellowing, as well as spotting or foxing due to age. This is inevitable with these old books. The paper used for Audubon's "Birds of America" was good paper but it was not top of the line. These books were made to be affordable for the middle class. Thus, they all have toning. These bookplates or prints may also have some tiny to small spots. This is foxing again is common with books of this age. Most of these bookplates or prints have tiny to small out of place printing ink spots that occurred during the printing process. Bookplates or prints may have very tiny bends or chips at corners and/or on the edge of the page. These bookplates or prints are beautiful framed. You can have them matted or not. Matting helps to preserve and protect any print as it prevents the glass from touching the print. Please email with any questions BEFORE purchasing! These bookplates or prints will be shipped USPS 1st Class Mail with cardboard reinforcement. I ship my Audubons to the US ONLY!
