This is a timeline of the history of the modern Olympics The idea for the revival of the Olympic Games began in 1892 when Baron Pierre de Coubertin of France founded the International Olympic Committee and began planning the first modern Olympic Games. The questions require students to not only use the timeline to locate information, but some of the questions require math computation as well. I have other timelines available. The Summer Olympic Games have begun! It's so fun watching people who are so amazingly talented and who love what they do! Since the games started, we've been watching them together as a family in the evenings and really enjoying it! So far my son loves the swimming and is mesmerized by the gymnastics. I think it's great for our kids to watch these athletes achieve their dreams. I also love that they get to hear some of the athletes' stories and learn that their lives haven't always been all that easy and that hard work and dedication can take you so far in life!
