I wanted to practice making lidded vessels, and here is what came out of it! Also, I love these two glazes and how they play with the slip. Short and Wide Weight towards the bottom Little more girth at the top I am very happy with how they finished. No lids stuck or anything!
The last two weeks have been quite interesting. I set up a display of my pieces at Manassas Clay. It is great to see my work out there! I chose to go with some variety, though not many large pieces. Things seem to be going well. I have stoneware and porcelain pieces here. I need to find a way to spruce it up though (Manassas Clay is a shop front but also a working studio which you can see in the background). I have been working on some new slip trailed pieces. It is difficult finding a direction I wish to move now that I do not have school assignments to fulfill. For now I hope to create pieces which excite me and those who see them. These are quick pictures of two of the lidded vessels I have recently completed. And yet another "unique" photo of a box I made. It is difficult to define where the sliptrailing should end sometimes but these panels really helped in defining the edge. I guess that's all for now. I hope to make this a more common thing!
