Your students will love making play dough balloons and popping them while practicing target sounds! After they have filled up all of the balloons, they will “pop” the balloons by squishing the play dough and practice the words again (therapist will determine the number of trials for each word). → Black & White version suggested use: Students will use bingo dotters, crayons, or markers to color in each balloon as they practice the target words. How many ways can you adapt the Guess Who game? Here is my way to adapt this commonly used therapy game to target articulation. I used Custom Boards and Boardmaker to make the insert cards. Hope you like it. Materials: 2 guess who game boards Print 3 copies of the target sound. One copy for each game board and one as the draw deck) Directions to play: Each player draw 5 cards from the deck. Students will take turns to ask each other questions. (example: "Is it a cat?") The youngest player get to go first. The first person to guess all 5 cards is the winner! Connect your articulation therapy sessions to your students favorite board games. Many of my students enjoy playing connect four which is a fun game that allows for many exposures to their articulation sounds. The objective of Connect Four is to place four of one's own chips of the same color next to each other either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally before your opponent. Vertical Win Horizontal Win Diagonal Win The articulation connect four game includes four different chips colors in green, purple, blue, and red. Each sound includes one board with a combination of initial, medial, and final words. /p, b, t, d, f, v, g, k, m, n, r, r-blends, l, l-blends, s, s-blends, z, sh, ch, th/ Here is an example of the /t/ sound including words in the initial, medial, and final positions all on one board! If your student is at the sentence level have them put the words into a complete sentence. In addition, a data collection sheet is included to help with data collection. Simply circle the + if the student correctly produced that sound or - if the student incorrectly produced that sound. Then add up the correct productions and divide them by the incorrect productions and write the percentage of accuracy. For example Jennifer used the purple chips and correctly produced /d/ sound in the words "Bread, Bed, Desk, & Drummer" and incorrectly produced the /d/ sound in the words "Radish & President". Artic Dominoes "s" matches pictures/words by initial, medial, and final position. This activity works great as a one on one activity or in small groups. TO MAKE: Print off pages. Use cardstock for greater durability. Laminate everything and cut everything out. TO PLAY: Each player picks out ten domino tiles. The youngest person gets to put down a tile of their choosing and says the word/phrase/sentence etc. The next player adds to the tiles that match the word on the free tiles. Alternatively, you can have the children match by sound location. If a player can not play then they draw another tile. If they can play then they play. If they can’t play then the next player goes. The game is over when a player goes out of tiles or no one can play anymore. In that case, the player with the fewest tiles wins. NOTE: There are some tiles where the ’s’ sound occurs in more than one position. The player chooses the word position the player wants to play. CONTENTS: A. With pictures ✶ 63 domino tiles for each initial, middle and final positions. ✶ 147 domino tiles for “s” in all word positions. B.
