Turkish Woman by Theodoros Ralli (Greek, 1852-1909) Theodoros Ralli, also known as Théodore Jacques Ralli or Theodorus Rallis, was a painter, watercolourist and draftsman from Greece. Theodoros spent most of his time in France and Egypt. Although best known for his detailed Orientalist paintings, he also painted genre works, portraits, local figures, architectural subjects, and interiors with figures and animals. Sent to France by Greece's King Otto, Theodoros studied under renowned French painter Jean-Léon Gérôme, a then professor at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
