One of the best things about the Brother Scan n Cut (at least in my opinion) is that you can cut out stencils with it. In the past, we had been using cardstock to cut out our stencils but as you can imagine, the cardboard doesn't last very long after you've sprayed it a few times with ink sprays and painted it over with acrylics and various other mediums. We have been wanting to test it using stencil plastic for ages but the only stencil plastic we had on hand was a thick stencil plastic that we knew the Brother

Craft Stencils for Furniture, Walls, Wood, Fabrics, Glass, Canvas, Mirrors and all flat surfaces. Shabby Chic / Vintage / Nature inspired stencils are ideal for any art and handmade crafts. MATERIALS: 1) REUSABLE NON STICKY MYLAR PVC stencil (thickness of: 125-190 microns). Thickness is usually based on the complexity of the design – customisation also possible. You can use a variety of tools to apply the paints from: sponges, stenciling brushes, airbrush equipment, etc. Each stencil is reusable, so simply wash it in warm water and re-use. Stencils are flexible, solvent proof, strong and can be reused countless times, if looked after. Please take into account that complicated designs require the addition of extra small elements called 'bridges'. These are needed to keep the detailed pattern in one piece. Without bridges, the middle part of a mandala / flower / rings etc. would simply fall out. Bridges might need touch-ups with a small brush after the finished project. This is necessary for complicated designs to be able to print them in a single piece. 2) ONE USE STICKY SELF-ADHESIVE stencil (thickness of: 80 microns) with adhesive backing are made from polypropylene film. This material ensures that the paint does not slip under the template design if you are using liquid paints, spray paint, inks or other media. We recommend to order this material when your design is more complex, also our self adhesive stencils will not have "bridges" described above. Our products are shipped in a cardboard tube or a cardboard box to protect them during their journey to our customers.
