Capturing the distinctive spirit of one of Scotland's most picturesque locales, this exquisite print invites the serene charm of Portree Harbour into your space. The vibrant tableau is steeped in the distinctive stylistic flourishes of Art Nouveau, with elegant, flowing lines and harmonious natural forms. At first glance, the eye is greeted by graceful boats, their masts standing tall and proud, mirroring the verticality of Portree's quaint, colourful facades that line the calm waterfront. The reflections cast upon the glassy harbour waters double the scene’s beauty, crafting an almost dreamlike symmetry that graces the composition with a tranquil stillness. Hints of a lush, rolling landscape in the background envelop the scene, creating an embrace of verdant hues that contrast beautifully with the bright pastel walls of the harbour's buildings. The thoughtful interplay of light and shadow, so deftly integrated into the scene, brings depth and volume to the structures, making them pop against the natural elements. The palate of this piece leans on a selection of greens, blues, and earth tones, punctuated with the stark whites and gentle yellows of the waterfront homes, encapsulating the vivid yet soothing palette typical of the Isle of Skye. This enchanting print from our 'Scottish Harbours' collection offers a tranquil glimpse into the highland's coastal life, an artistic homage to a cherished locale imbued with a sense of harmony and timeless charm.

Raised on his family's cattle ranch in Idaho, Brent's first lessons in art were taught by his grandmother, a talented watercolorist. He grew up sketching the cowboys and horses he observed every day. His family moved to Lindsborg, Kansas when he was in the 5th grade. In this little town steeped in it's Swedish heritage and love of the arts, Brent's creativity flourished. In high school an influential instructor encouraged him to pursue a career in art.

Out in those wide open spaces you can follow one of these gravel roads with your eyes until it diminishes to a tiny point on the horizon or disappears at the crest of a distant hill. I like to imagine that at the end there’s a good old-fashioned home cooked meal waiting, and probably a good ol’ dog runnin’ out to meet the pickup.
I've been painting since I was little. I loved bringing to life all the stories and fantastic characters that were living in my head. Later, art helped me to get through many dark days that came along. My colors and brushes became my therapist, my canvases, my friend, and everything I was feeling was illustrated with their help. Since becoming a mother I've circled back to my childhood fantasy painting. It connects me to my inner child and brings back that magical time of innocence.

"In My Dreams" Giclee edition print - printed especially for you! The second photo from the top shows the print in the matte. The signature and title will be added per order, so that's not shown in the photo. I have also included a photo of what this might look like framed and hung in a room setting! image size: 8” x 8” matte size / frame size 12” x 12" A stock size frame should be easy to find, and you can just pop this print right in! Each print is signed and titled on the matte, and dated with the year the original painting was done on the reverse. Each print includes foamcore backing, mounted print, matte and is individually bagged in acetate. The mattes I use are all white – white reflects color from surrounding objects, so no matter where you hang this print or want to move it around your home, the matte will pick up reflected color from the room! Plus, it really makes the color in the prints pop. This print will be made specifically for you! Specifics: This print is reproduced from an original painting by me, Jan Schmuckal. It is printed in-house on lovely, Epson Watercolor paper. I experimented with many different papers before I settled on this one: It is archival, water-resistant, fade-resistant, and has a beautiful richness! My prints are made using Epson Pigment Inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade for at least 120+ years. COPYRIGHT: I retain all copyrights to my artwork. The heads atop each of these surreal graphite portraits seem to act as a canvas in and of themselves, as entire scenes and landscapes spill forth from each oversized face. Drawn by Austrian artist Stefan Zsaitsits (previously), each piece seems to depict an individual who is literally or figuratively encumbered by animals, objects, or metaphorical thoughts. The works here are just sampling of new pieces created for a show at Galerie Lang Wien in Vienna and for Art Austria 2014. More

This totally tubular work of public sculpture is called Aeolus, named after the god of the four winds in Greek mythology. Aeolus is designed to play a sweet sound every time the wind blows, because it's made out of 310 polished steel tubes attached to an arch that helps channel the breeze into nature's melody. Aeolus was made by artist Luke Jerram, who wanted to provide "both acoustic and optical sensations, with the pipes framing, inverting and magnifying the landscape" Aeolus is on display at the Canar...
Ana Teresa Barboza (previously) produces embroidered landscapes with wandering streams that break the fourth wall, jumping off their 2D structures and cascading to the floor in waterfalls of blues and greens. The remaining landscape Barboza keeps in black and white, focusing the viewer’s eye on the vibrant colors that compose the rushing water rather than the surrounding mountains and rocks. Recently the artist has begun to embroider on top of images, collaborating with photographs instead of producing the entire scene. More

Imagine yourself enveloped in the serene beauty of the Scottish coastline with this exquisite print, inspired by the tranquil Portree Harbour in the Isle of Skye. Captured in a distinctive abstract impressionist style, the piece is imbued with a dreamlike quality that invites onlookers to interpret the scene through their own experiences and emotions. The artwork features a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours that dance across the canvas, with hues of tangerine, lemon, and salmon pink adorning the quaint harbourside buildings. These structures are simplified into expressive blocks and strokes of colour, giving them an ephemeral presence against the soft, distant hills, which are portrayed in muted tones and gentle shapes, hinting at the majestic Scottish landscape beyond the harbour. The centrepiece of the composition is a bold, red-hulled boat, anchored and still, basking in the harbour's calm waters. Its sharp reflection, a mix of both fluid and aggressively applied brushstrokes of red and white, intersects with reflections of the colourful facades, creating an almost symphonic interplay of light, colour, and form on the water's surface. Broad, confident brushwork and an imaginative use of texture suggest movement and vitality within the scene, alluding to the ebb and flow of harbour life and the restless Scottish skies. The brushwork skilfully blurs the line between reflection and reality, infusing the piece with a sense of movement and an ethereal quality that holds the gaze and stirs contemplation. This print, a part of the 'Scottish Harbours' collection, not only encapsulates the spirit of Portree's picturesque setting but also serves as a timeless piece of art that will add depth and character to any space. It offers both a window to a far-off place and an abstract vista that allows the viewer to find their own meaning within its depths.
