"So tell me...where should I go? To left, where nothing is right? Or to the right, where nothing is left?" This has been one of my favorite quotes for its cleverness and nihilistic theme. This listing is for a high-quality 8"" x 11"" digital download that you can print from the comfort of your own home or at your local print shop. Sewing Log & Project Journal Worksheets and Forms to Help Document your Sewing Projects by Dawn Devine of Studio Davina 7 Page Downloadable Printable PDF $8.00 Welcome to my “Studio Log & Project Journal” printable. This printable PDF is the culmination of a 20+ year long journey of running an independent costume shop. As my little business has evolved and grown, I’ve created tools to help me stay on top of projects and keep accurate records for billing and taxes. Even if you are not sewing, crafting, or making fiber arts professionally, you will find this set of forms useful for setting up your own personal sewing journal. I like to store these forms in a classic 3 ring binder, organized by client or project. I preprint several at a time and have them ready to go as the sewing mood strikes. Good luck in all of your sewing adventures! Dawn Devine ~ Studio Davina www.davina.us • davina [!at] davina.us How this system works Each of these worksheets is designed to collect information during different phases of the sewing process. Below, I’ve included brief descriptions of how I utilize each of these forms in the flow of my business. Client Information I keep one of these for myself, my family members, and my customers. I collect basic contact information at the top. It also serves as a “brain storm” or “wish list” for all the projects, garments, accessories, or other handcrafted goodies they want. It helps with project planning! I also try to get their budget and a timeline. In the sketch box, I either include a photo of my client or a quick outline sketch of their body. Measurement Chart This worksheet is pretty self-explanatory. I like to measure my clients twice a year to update this sheet as bodies change over time. I use a contrasting pen to draw and easily spot “special measurement” lines I might need for particular projects. Project Planner I use this sheet during consultations and project planning sessions to capture all the details about a project. In the sketch section, I will draw a figure or individual pieces, details, or any visual reference I might need. I refer to this sheet as I’m working on the project. Project Log The project log sheet is used for tracking the time and expense involved in creating a garment for myself, a family member, or a client. When working with customers, it makes it easy to record all of the steps in the creation for proper billing and for tax purposes. Product Log This form I use when I’m creating an item for sale in person or online. This form helps keep me on target with my time and expenses and gives me a place to record the details of the creation of an item. If I want to make more of these items in the future, I can pull out this product log for reference. This collection of logbook worksheets is sized to fit a standard US 3 ring binder. For my personal business, I keep a binder book with numbered page dividers, and each number represents a current or ongoing project or client I’m working with. A binder serves as my project log book where I put all of my information about projects including mood boards and inspirational images.

Check here if you're not sure where to look: http://www.etsy.com/your/purchases WHAT YOU CAN PRINT // ● Beautiful art for your walls! These prints make especially cute decor for nurseries and kid's rooms. ● Cards and invitations. Your Granny would love a postcard of the country her grandparents were born in. These also make great unique wedding invites for the travel-loving couple. ● Shirts, mugs, and more. That family reunion would be awesome with custom country map tees for everyone! ● As long as you don't resell the images or profit from them in any way, you can print them on anything you'd like. HOW YOU CAN PRINT // ● Matte paper is recommended for all of my fine art prints. Moab is my preferred paper though Epson makes a Velvet Fine Art Paper that prints wonderfully. Epson Matte Presentation Paper is also an economical and quality choice. An inexpensive home printer like an Epson Artisan or something comparable can achieve some really great results. ● Or try your local print shop or popular commercial printers like Staples, Kinkos, Walgreens, etc. ● Online printers like Framebridge, Vistaprint, Snapfish, Shutterfly, etc. IMPORTANT NOTES // ● Watermarks will not appear on actual files. ● This is a digital download. No physical item will ship and all frames are for display purposes only. ● Many of my pieces utilize different textures to invoke a more vintage vibe. While these are well represented on my screen, they may not appear well on others. Please be sure what you receive in your download package is the intended result. ● No refunds are provided on digital downloads. ● 8x10 is by far the most popular size though, if you require a different size, get in touch with me via conversation and I'll see what I can do. ● Your files come with a limited license that makes them for PERSONAL USE ONLY. This means you may not alter the images in any way or sell them as your own either in print form or on other products. Copyright is retained by the artist. This Create Your Own Island Project is a great geography project for all of your students. There is a little something for every type of interest! The Island Project will incorporate map skills and knowledge of geography with writing, art, and a whole lot of creativity. I love using this project to get to know my students better and see some of their skills outside of typical educational experience. In this Island Project, your students will be challenged to design their own “recently discovered” island loaded with geographic features. They will need to design this island with real-world geography in mind, so they will need to make sure that their geography and climate are congruent with the natural features of their coordinates. Students will also do some urban planning. They will also have the opportunity to design a flag and record the imaginary history of their island. The Island Project can be printed as one single project or broken up into five smaller tasks to serve as deadlines for the whole project. This product includes a rubric for the entire project. It also comes in Color and Black & White files. The only materials you will need are: • Poster Board • Markers • Colored Pencils Have a great time exploring and seeing ALL of your students shine!! *********************************************************** You may also like: Maps of the World Bundle How Do You Get to School? Elementary Music - Kindergarten Music Lesson Play (Day 1): This is a free sample from my Kindergarten Music Lesson Plans {Semester 1/ 36 Lessons} This lesson is aligned with the new Core Arts Standards and includes a scripted lesson plan full of ideas for a kindergarten music lesson. I use this lesson on Day 1 with my kindergarten, but much of it can be used any time during the year! It is NOT intended to be a "print and teach" lesson plan. Every classroom and music teacher is different. We each have our own students, schedules, time restraints, resources, and experiences that make our music program what it is. This is intended to be a peek into exactly what I am doing with my kindergarten students to give you some new ideas about lesson planning, transitions, classroom management, song materials, and just how I weave my lesson together. It is a model for you as you are planning. Many of these ideas could also be utilized in schools that see pre-k or in schools who do not see students until first grade. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to leave a comment below. If you have questions about this lesson or the semester bundle of 36 lessons, please email me at [email protected] If you would like to purchase more lessons individually instead of in the bundle, you can find them here: Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 2} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 3} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 4} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 5} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 6} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 7} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 8} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 9} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 10} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 11} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 12} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 13} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 14} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 15} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 16} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 17} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 18} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 19} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 20} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 21} Kindergarten Lesson Plan {Day 22} Find more information on my blog at Pursuit of Joyfulness Like my Facebook page to stay "in the know" on all my updates, sales and freebies!

This no-prep art sub plan inspires students to create their own secret passages, trap doors, hidden rooms, and escape hatches. They look at images from art history including castles, monuments, and homes that include these features. This art activity uses simple materials...pencil, paper, and/or crayon. It is fully scripted, no prep, and can be taught by anyone including substitute teachers, classroom teachers, art teachers, and parents. Review from a high school teacher: ”"I assigned this for sub plans for some of my classes that were finished with a project and needed further instruction on the day I was out. It was great! I even made it a contest (spoiler alert: they all won :D!) and had some really innovative designs." Rating: 5/5 (extremely satisfied) ” Review from a middle school teacher: "The Kids loved this assignment, we went as far as researching paintings, stories, books, authors who have used secret doorways and passages in their work. It was great!" This lesson was meant to be presented and completed in one 55 minute class.
