This is 35 weeks worth of bell ringers for a standard visual art classroom, equivalent to a full school year excluding those few 2-3 day school weeks. Each day of the week is assigned a specific category. Each week in itself is unique and will give your students the opportunity to learn about art while also keeping themselves busy during those first few minutes of class. You may also use as an exit ticket, participation points, etc. The possibilities are endless! The first slide is a BLANK bell ringer sheet which can be printed for students to fill out and turn in each week. The first week is marked with an red X in Monday, which can be moved to a different week (used during 4-day school weeks, snow days, in-service days, etc). You may also feel free to add an extra bell ringer activity to that space instead, if you're needing a full week. All elements of the slideshow are "animated." During presentation, you can click to reveal each weekday to prevent students from working ahead, or display the entire week at once. You may edit and change this file to fit your needs! Included categories: MOVEMENT MONDAY - Each Monday, a visual arts movement and/or style (34 different movements incorporated) is briefly described and students are asked an opinion-based question regarding what they think it means, represents, etc. Also included is an artwork featured in that particular movement/style of art. TECHNIQUE TUESDAY - Each Tuesday, students are asked to DRAW using a basic technique. Also generally features the utilization of the elements & principles of art. WORD WEDNESDAY - Each Wednesday, students are asked to search and find the definition of an art vocabulary term. (I chose words that most of the students have likely not heard before in order to broaden their vocabulary - I do ask that they search for the ART definition, as many of the words can have different meanings based on context) TRY-IT THURSDAY - Each Thursday, students are encouraged to try something new! These tasks range from basic drawings, to art challenges, to trying to draw using the art style mentioned that week. FAMOUS FRIDAY - Each Friday, students are given the name of a FAMOUS artist or artwork featured in the art style from that week. They may be asked questions or be given simple puzzles to solve. EVERY DAY IS SOMETHING NEW! The only repeated task is "draw or create an emoji that describes how you are feeling today," which I have included once per quarter. Other than that, your students will see a brand new bell ringer task for each day of the school year, all involving the wonderful world of visual art and art history. **I use my weekly bell ringers as participation points. I do not take off points for a "wrong" answer. The only time they lose points is if they leave the day blank, or if they don't try (writing IDK, IDC, etc). It's been a quick and easy way to ensure they are engaged! You may also like: >Meet the Artists Bell Ringers >Let's Talk About Art! Bell Ringers

The first days of school are always hectic and stressful. If this is your first year teaching elementary art it probably feels downright overwhelming. For me it is about getting to know my students, getting them comfortable with me, introducing rules, and giving them a quick drawing activity. I do it the same every year and it works great for me. I have 30-40 minute classes. I move very quickly through the following activities. I also have these steps outlined on the board, so that I don't forge
