Send me a convo; I’d love to hear from you! PROVENANCE: This die casting was made in France from authentic, antique tooling which was created in c. 1900. The design is decidedly Baroque. The Baroque era of art history began in 1600 and some say lasted until 1750. It followed a short and strange period, referred to as Mannerism which in turn was followed by the high Renaissance, the golden age of art in Europe. Baroque was a style characteristic of dynamism in painting. In other words paintings were exemplary of great drama and movement. All art and design, including jewelry, was very opulent, ornate and some say down right gaudy. It is one of my favorite art eras and hosted one of my favorite, French artists, Boucher.
