Today, we're dedicating a list to embroidery and its community on Reddit, r/embroidery. We have a new collection of the most gorgeous projects people shared there, so scroll away and be inspired!

Until the first of many phases of extensive facial surgery to correct my Bells Palsy three years ago I'd never embroidered anything. It was during a hospital stay to insert one of my chest muscles into my left cheek that I realised I could marry up my love of hand sewing with my love of human anatomy and a hobby was born. I bought embroidery thread, dug out my old copy of Grey's Anatomy and got started on an image of the facial muscles which was immediately bought by my consultant facial surgeon.

Safo. Cross stitch pattern. Counted cross stitch patter. Cross stitch supply. Hand embroidery pattern. PDF cross stitch. Cross stitch chart. Safo by Miquel Carbonell i Selva in PDF format. All my patterns are created using a combination of computer and hand correction and are designed in the ‘’ pointillist ‘’ style of art which is a technique of painting in which small distinct points of primary colors create the impression of an intermediate color. So, when you look at the embroidered piece from a few feet away all colors mixed together and it looks very realistic. The first photo is the original work of the artist and the second is the embroidered result, according to the pattern. The thread foto is from Mrs. Deb, which embroidered this pattern and she has the kindness enough to send me a foto. With your purchase you will receive with electronic delivery to your email box, 1. A PDF with picture that shows how it looks the finished piece. 2. A PDF with instructions and symbol key. 3. A PDF pattern with black and white symbols. 4. A PDF with thread lengths. Moscow-based fabric artist and designer Katerina Marchenko stitches brightly colored threads into tulle to form elaborate embroidered images of animals, portraits, and anatomical studies. In their hoops, Marchenko’s pieces work as framed thread paintings. Bird and angel wings appear to have dimension and human eyes pop thanks to the artist’s attention to color harmony and shading. Marchenko skips the sketching phase and starts each new piece with contours before allowing improvisation and the process itself to dictate what the final design will look like. More
